Good plan! In your post, you said "moving a house", not just the heavy, bulky stuff...

I'd add PGH to that list. Like or dislike Favre, he has 6 td passes so far and a 98.7 passer rating for what that's worth...and he does pack in the crowds home and away, which makes all the owners smile...

Here's the injury reports prior to Sunday's games. In my observations, the ones listed as "doubtful" seldom suit up.

Insist on putting your own combination lock(s) on the van. Theft isn't uncommon. Jot down the time they arrive at your house, and the time they arrive at the new location. Drive the common route between the two locations and record the time...they like to pad on transit time. If they say they are going to stop for lunch, travel with them in your car so you can deduct that time. Check the truck cab before they leave for boxes they might have stashed there. Hold them to the quote you were given when you contracted them. They've already padded the time then, and the crew "leader" will try to chisel you. I wouldn't tip them one dime, unless you insist that they run boxes upstairs and all over the house. Your choice. U-Haul sells boxes - do much of it yourself. And move your valuables yourself. Check the van and the cab after they've unloaded for stashed boxes.

Automotive Question for those who may know
stuckincincy replied to The Poojer's topic in Off the Wall Archives
The Isuzu - GM alliance is based on industrial truck and agricultural implements, in the main. Small GM trucks and suv's have worn the Isuzu badge for several years - more or less a GM concession to keep the Isuzu name in the US passenger car market. That's over now - Isuzu leaves soon. The last pure Isuzu available in the States IIRCe was the the 2-door Impulse sporty car. Its' RWD chassis and engine were adequate but mundane, but it was stunningly styled. IIRC, the styling was performed by one of the Italian studios - Pininfarina, Bertone, Ghia...I forget which. The Italian style houses are legendary. For in-house styling, GM is the world leader...Ford, Chrysler, the Germans, the Japs...not close. -
Automotive Question for those who may know
stuckincincy replied to The Poojer's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Plenty. There is a turn away from belt-driven overhead cams. GM's eco-4, Hyundai's 2009 I-4 for example. Honda was the last to produce "interference" engines - I think they stopped that, along with the reverse crank rotation but a few years ago. GM still has pushrod V-6s, and V-8s. Which is smart...3, 4 inch less width to fit into the engine compartment. OHC, DOHC are not the be-all and end-all...these GM motors provide fine power. Pushrod motors are far from dead. Variable valve timing has been implemented on such, BTW. -
Thinking Buffalo at Den is ripe for primetime
stuckincincy replied to dollars 2 donuts's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Could be - if not for BUF - for some team. The schedule before season start had 5 CLE prime-time games. -
What branch of the government puts forth legislation, funds the executive branch...or not, engages in direct appropriations before, after, and outside of a passed budget, has review and approval power over any executive branch employee, decided to earmark taxpayer cash for this and that to aid in their re-election? Any Administration - Clinton, Bush, you name it, spends years studying the wiring diagrams trying to figure out what the hell all these ensconced Federal government workers do. And unlike equivalents in the private sector, when members of this settled mass get caught breaking laws, the general result is a long period of hand-wringing about whether to gently slap their hands. They generally lose nothing, and stay on the job. Bush advocated lowering taxation. Clinton admitted that his urging to raise taxes was wrong. A republican congress passed legislation for a line-item veto of these packed-full-of crap-and-pork legislative garbage historically coming out of Congress. Clinton was highly pleased about that. But the Klan Wizard, the Prince of Pork, the Dem Sen. from WV - Robt. Byrd - saw to it that such was snuffed. You - and others - ignorantly spew against Presidents - your vile should be directed towards those 535 little Napoleons. They have a Praetorian guard - 1,700 Capitol Police to protect them. A single Senator has something like 3000 sq. ft. of allotted office space. Forget the huff 'n puff about perks - there is a mechanism that deftly avoids their public protestations. They exempt themselves from myriad laws; they walk out of the Capitol building with prohibiting legislation they passed for others in government and show up in the afternoon as powerful lobbyists.

Father hits daughters naked boyfriend with metal pipe
stuckincincy replied to kegtapr's topic in Off the Wall Archives
50 years ago - a man sees an unannounced man in his home, who is nude, and assumes he has raped his daughter, and kills him. Everybody applauds. 30 years ago - same scenario. Too bad, but ya know, you are responsible if you put yourself into bad situations. Today - a nude stranger in your home can't be challenged, lest you risk being labeled insensitive. Touch the intruder and get charged with a crime. Sheep primed for easy slaughter... -
...when they defeat a team not substantially crippled by injuries to starters? In good weather.

Happy B'Day, Movie Mogul !!!!

You're making a tremendous leap far off-topic here. I realize that increased government revenues are in your personal pecuniary interest, right?
-
Here's an article from 2007, predicting the shortfall in gasoline tax revenues due to less demand, and noting that the Feds and the States are going to grab back your savings via increased taxation. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,274113,00.html I'd add the obvious - that as any businesses' profits rise, so does government's tax revenue.

Didn't they reduce the frequency of cabin fresh air changeovers when smoking was banned?

I wish the best of luck to you and yours, my friend...indeed, it will be a long night.

Chris Chambers amazing Reebok commercial

I guess it's so, but I'm amazed that there are large numbers of people out there that actually - and reliably - make a purchasing decision based on the squawkings of a sports millionaire... Sadly, these people can also vote. -

That's a fair point. But IIRC, if he's on the active roster before and then after the opening day of the season, his year-long salary is guaranteed no matter what. I'm assuming it's the opening of the league season - last nights' NYG-WAS game. It works the other way, too. If you sign a vested veteran after opening day, it's not a full-year salary guarantee. I could be wrong - the CBA is IMO quite the Byzantine document.
