Boy, this really seems to bother you. Implied threats of toxins introduced in served food. Telling me to eschew eateries. Personal attacks. Implying that not buying into a so-called "commonly accepted"sappy phrase should dump me (the payee) into the ditch and put me at risk of a person spitting on my food. This is a pet peeve thread. I put forth some. For some reason, my words moved you to fire off words. Toss out personal invectives. The only thing to be learned out of your ba-de-ba is the hope that I and others aren't the receiving end of a plate you may drop on our booth. Lighten up... EDIT: Your words do a disservice to the better waiters and waitresses worldwide.

Chad Pennington named Fin's starter

Why the belittlement? Penny led his team into the playoffs 2 of the 5 years he played for the Jets. -
I don't live in NC. I feel sorry for your experience. According to your lights, no one is safe from disease unless one suffers Finkle-like feality to the staff at the place where you fork over your cash. So we must spend our money with deep humbleness, never upsetting this food service intelligensia, lest we upset these superior beings that shuttle plates. Right?

Buzz off. That very utterance by a server - they are there to make money by the simple act of writing down a customer's requests, shuttling it to another, then hauling plates back to a table - not exactly back-breaking, hazardous duty - that in response to a simple word by a customer (the ones that ultimately pay them)- like a "thank you" - when they make that fantastic accomplishment of dropping a plate on a table...is pithy. The better waiters never utter such self-referential pap. Sweet.

BUF: Fred Jackson > Marshawn Lynch. CIN: Kenny Watson > Rudi Johnson. Hands, picking holes, following blockers. And the money forked over, for both teams, keeps the better player as #2. Front offices seldom eat humble pie...

1. Restaurants - most of them - that set the AC on liquid nitrogen setting for the comfort of their employees. And freeze the customers. 2. Servers who say "No Problem". If you would like to experience dead air, reply " No problem? Why? Was there going to be a problem?". Dead air. 3. People who call and shout "Is XXX der?". Or Yo!. I ask "Who is calling?". More dead air. 4. People who ask "Can I ask you a personal question?". No, you can't. More dead air. 5. People who say "Can I be frank with you?". I reply..."Do you usually lie to me?". More dead air.

I'll rate it as cheesy...make sure that it doesn't happen again...but excommunication? For iffy judgement? Such is very, very rarely invoked. Often abused for political power reasons in years long ago. Shunning someone from communal worship is not lightly taken. Our Savior died for forgiveness of our sins. Don't you ever, ever forget that. These Nuns are not turning their back on Jesus.

Isn't he a physical wreck - albeit a personally very rich physical wreck with an eye-popping medical and pension plan. Why would he bother to play again?

the problem with faith and religion
stuckincincy replied to SAM HARRIS's topic in Off the Wall Archives
The God Exists/God Does Not Exist deal has been kicked around as long as mankind has had a mouth. By great and small minds. It's ludicrous and presumptuous for anyone who posts here, to think they have anything - at all - to add to the centuries of debate. Yet every generation is convinced that their blather is new and improved... It is presumptive, egotistical, to think that God need prove Himself to you, or me. There are plenty of folks who reject any concept of a God - it bothers some - not all - when there is a possibility of accounting for their abuse of others, their chronically self-referential existence. -

I'm going to Wegmans today. What should I buy?
stuckincincy replied to Steely Dan's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Good plan. I buy whole beef and pork roast cuts when on sale, and butcher them and freeze. I've stopped buying ground beef what with all the recalls - I'll take a portion of inexpensive rump roast, or buy a chuck roast outright, and cube and grind it in one of those 7 dollar small food processors, then wrap and freeze the portions. Frozen turkeys are cheap. Wife 'n me roast 3 or so in a year, and freeze the considerable leftovers. They are a good money-saver for folks with kids to feed. -

One of the CNN folks this morning noted that with this text message thing, the Obama camp picked up tons of cell phone numbers.

Umm...the Ten Commandments (and there were more) seems to have gotten everything right if you wanted to have a world full of healthy and productive people. We all question. Those who have never rebelled against God or at some point in their lives shaken their fist in the face of Heaven have never encountered God at all. We will converse further. -
Why? JP or Edwards, it's a bottom-barrel offense. Anybody that takes the snaps and lights it up has to be a plus.

What about the children there? You would be screaming about that if he bolted out. -

I'll give you a reason to wise up. Putting up an avatar and then putting text mocking a member of the Forum is unctuous. Not cute, not clever. That's a rule. -
You are from NYC so you know about outrageous prices for just about everything. If you have an accompanying wife, The Mansion on Delaware gets nice reviews for digs in the classic fashion. Memorable for the both of you. http://www.discoverourtown.com/hotel/49729.html http://www.zagat.com/Verticals/PropertyDet...=27&R=85558

MRI electromagnets need energy. As does the attendant RF sweep. There are thermodynamic thresholds to be overcome to make protons change their spin and state.

Potentially raising Intel's stock price in the short term. Kilowatts over the air - right...

Getting a knee shot on the thigh has nothing to do with being injury-prone. It's a happenstance, no more. -

I see you have seen fit to modify your initial post, turning from your initial braggadocio, and palpable desire for getting personally petted. Your so-called revelations have been discussed for centuries. Your cult need to read history. If you would like to read something about Man's doubt of God, read the Book of Job and the Psalms of David. Your group is SO last Millinium. Oh - keep away from the instant drink aisle when you shop, and watch out for Comets...
