  1. None that I know of. Integrity over paycheck in sports (and general society, I suppose) died several years ago IMO. Ocho Dinko wanted out because he has an eye for a fat signing bonus, plain and simple. After banging his rattle on his high chair and weeping didn't work, he returned. Palmer is guaranteed 29 million as is. I suppose he would bolt if the CBA changes or is dissolved, and then the NFL operates like MLB.
  2. I share your sentiments! I suppose someday I should tabulate B'gals highlights (lowlights?) since 1991. However, it would be a tome. A few favorites: HC Dave Shula (personal friend of Mikie) eating his lunch in his car during one training camp - everybody hated everybody. Ki-Jana Carter graciously buying training camp towels for the team because Brown wouldn't pay for them. HC Bruce Coslet smoking cig after cig on the sideline, shaking his head. I'm waiting for the afternoon local radio talk show here - should be great fun!
  3. You're misinformed. They do, but it's small and comprised of family and friends. It's all about the Benjamins that can be made off of people's emotions. The B'gals are far from the only pro sports team that operates that way, unfortunately.
  4. Lewis is fully assimilated into the Mike Brown collective. He came into town with hope and acclaim - but he's proven to be a poor field general, and is two-faced to fans and press alike. He's under contract, and Brown won't eat a contract.
  5. I'll speculate that pro sports teams are secretly for it. At the very least, Congressmen will be invited to travel around to investigate this vital issue, compliments of liquor industry lobbyists. Perhaps a campaign contribution, also...
  6. I can't wait until these kids enter the workforce... ..."Dallas public school students who flunk tests, blow off homework and miss assignment deadlines can make up the work without penalty, under new rules that have angered many teachers. The new rules will be distributed when teachers return to their campuses next week. But many who have already seen the regulations say they are too lenient on slackers, and will come at the expense of kids who work hard. For example, the new rules require teachers to accept late work and prevent them from penalizing students for missed deadlines. Homework grades that would drag down a student's overall average will be thrown out."... http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dw...s.48e6cc22.html
  7. I liked it when he hit the building before he finally landed. We have to forgive - these are people who were stymied by chads.
  8. I could fill several pages here about what I've seen come out of Mikie Brown & Co. over the 18 years I've lived here. I'll give them this - they've certainly provided the baseline for just about every wrong move possible over that time. Poor Paul Brown...if he sprung back to life, he'd choke his son to death and no Grand Jury here would hand down an indictment.
  9. Really. They weren't going anywhere this season - tough schedule, starters OLB Jeanty, RB Johnson, DE Odoms, WR's Housz and Johnson, SS Ndukwe injured, FB Jonhson grossly overweight, one of their 3rd rounders on crutches, the other carted off the field against DET. What is Henry going to bring to that mess?
  10. Never say never...I guess. CIN plays DAL this year - maybe PacMan will cover Henry. Never trust a word Marvin Lewis says. http://news.cincinnati.com/apps/pbcs.dll/a...ONTPAGECAROUSEL
  11. For future reference... 12. OH has a law like that - but nobody volunteers to pay it on on-line purchases. However - if you order on-line AND the seller has a physical presence in the State...retail store, distribution center...the seller will then add sales tax to the bill.
  13. I wonder how many rpm's Paul Brown is doing these days in his grave, with sonny boy Mike (owner, Prez, and GM) collecting one winning season and one playoff game since he took over in 1991.
  14. He can. Palmer throws a high ball since his '05 knee injury.
  15. Anybody in the crowd waving a "Terrible tissue"?
  16. I think some certainly can, better than others. I'll expound tomorrow.
  17. In my case, it means an additional 1% sales tax to pay for an already-twice refinanced bond debt for a free House of Worship for a multi-millionaire, four members of his family, several friends and confidants, and 53 other well-to-do individuals.
  18. Old story, well known. Sorry - don't mean to step you your post... Also - the story of the Hollywood box office star...Hedy Lamarr. Beautiful and exceedingly smart - and a key mind in the infancy of the science of radar detection. She saved many a soul. http://www.aegis-systems.co.uk/history/lamarr.html
  19. FWIW, Rockpile - I've had a flurry of security updates from Microsoft Updates. I also use FF, and have been updating my various AVs and spyware programs and running them daily with no detections. I use Comodo's firewall and MS's also. So far - nothing. I also updated to XP Service Pack 3 recently - there were some FF lock-ups initially, but they have disappeared.
  20. "You know Louie, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship"... Casablanca, 1942.
  21. The experienced tracker also looks for evidence of urine burn on the surrounding flora, and twigs broken during the squat. Time-dependent, of course. If you are lucky enough to notice an unusual concentration of insects - that's another clue in the tracking biz. That means there's food about. Bird activity is a key indicator if you are following creatures on the move - they see everything. Have I killed this thread yet, or should I continue?
