  1. Thanks for the link. And you are right - the fellow is good.
  2. The real complaining starts when you begin to peel off multiple Benjamins to replace a switch gang or a motor. Or if you are so unfortunate as to take a trip into the drink.
  3. So after saying there was nothing they could legally do in the recent past, now Obama & Co. once again reverse course...
  4. Oh sure...spoil the party.
  5. Well... I chose not to launch a lecture about the days when side view mirrors, the heater, radios, and cigar lighters were options. I will add, however, that I despise power windows.
  6. Several reasons... It was long, a feature of some foreign cars. That carried some cachet in the marketplace. Advances in technology allowed for more functionality to be included in the column stalks...high beams, wiper functions, cruise control. The close proximity to the wheel is safer, not less so. The foot button installation required piercing of body metal. Holes, edges, are prime corrosion spots. The button switch itself was in corrosive territory - slush brought into the footwells. Adding the function to a column stalk reduced part count - the switch, the fasteners, the wiring. Also the costs associated with engineering, sourcing, stocking, and installation at the assembly plant.
  7. Happy B'Day! B'Day! B'Day! B'Day!
  8. Come to Hamilton County. These aren't folks with just with misdemeanors. Jail overcrowding is a fact. Just a few months ago, the County had to close down their Queensgate prison - OH State laws require that Counties keep a balanced budget. Approximately 850 were released, and you seldom get incarcerated for any length of time for misdemeanors here (if at all) unless some judge wants to hop in front of the popular parade of the moment, to get himself face time. The citizens of Hamilton County gleefully passes a bond issue of 450 million (and half-cent sales tax increase) for Mike Brown's free play palace. Since then, two bond issues for a new jail were voted down in flames...
  9. Could it not be, that Lynch's case is but small peanuts in their overall case load? Here in Hamilton County, OH, there are large numbers of arrests reduced to misdemeanors, if one is to believe the press (and I do.). Not necessarily for lack of proof, moreso because of a heavily backlogged court calendar as well as little jail space. Hundreds and and hundreds of folks with long arrest and conviction records walking freely every day...
  10. Enuresis - the bane of fan forums everywhere...
  11. Sounds like a clear-cut case of shameless self-promotion on Wilson's part...
  12. Dhani Jones, LB CIN has a tv show tonight on the Travel Channel - plays native sports in different countries. He's a different sort of player - he doesn't own a car, writes, plays symphony instruments (I think). Came to the B'gals a few games into the '07 season. Pretty decent player: http://www.nfl.com/players/dhanijones/profile?id=JON235149 According to this article in the Cincinnati Enquirer, he hosted an ESPN show 4 years ago, and appears on the NFL Network: http://news.cincinnati.com/article/2009031.../903150378/1066 Localities (sport): Thailand (Muay Thai); Switzerland (schwingen); England (rugby); Singapore (dragon-boat racing); Spain (jai-alai); Ireland (hurling); Australia (surf life-saving); Cambodia (pradal serey); New Zealand (sailing); Russia (sambo)
  13. Eric Ghiaciuc: CIN's #4 in 2005, from Central Michigan. Replaced Rich Braham (who was a fine center...146 games, 142 starts over a 13-year career) after his career-ending leg injury, 2nd game of '06. Ghiaciuc is a decent pass blocker, but tends towards getting pushed around in run blocking. Nice guy, good attitude. Injured much of last season - 5 games, 1 start. I forget what the injury was. Shoulder? He doesn't seem in CIN's plans this season - leaving them with a PS player, and an IR player at center. I'd imagine they will be looking in the draft.
  14. A crisp 40 years old!
  15. I use AVG Free, Lavasoft's Ad-Aware, and Windows Defender. Also Comodo firewall per Dean's recommendation - it co-exists well with the native XP firewall. I invoke FF's Clear Private Data tool frequently when on line, deny all cookies, history - and invoke XP's disk clean at least once a day. Disk defrag once a week.
  16. I can't say about a TSW theme song, But here's the Bills' F.O. interviewing FAs... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jrlSHcnDhA...feature=related
  17. New PM sent...
  18. ...also, "The bill provides that if an employer and a union are engaged in bargaining for their first contract and are unable to reach agreement within 90 days, either party may refer the dispute to the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS) for mediation. If the FMCS is unable to bring the parties to agreement after 30 days of mediation the dispute will be referred to arbitration and the results of the arbitration shall be binding on the parties for two years. The union and employer may extend any deadlines or time limits. The Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service was created in 1947 and provides most mediation services in support of collective bargaining free of charge." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Employee_free_choice_act So - inexorably - more government control of the private affairs of the citizenry. If this thing gets implemented, look for companies to close down if imposed wages make them unable to continue. Or move offshore. Also add in Obama &Co.'s plans for increased corporate taxes, which will of course be reflected in higher prices. Don't forget increased higher individual bracket tax, increased capital gains tax, this "buy American" pay-off to unions, etc. And can't forget "Cap and Trade", to pay off the greenie vote.
  19. Teams generally sign the other rounds first, to see how much money they have for their 1st rounder. Good luck, trying to sign three 1st round choices...
  20. Why not? Both schools have years of history of handing out good grades, even if you have a brain full of stale oatmeal... http://www.usatoday.com/news/opinion/2002/02/08/edtwof2.htm http://www.gradeinflation.com/
  21. Eh - civil service...tenured professors, elementary school, high school teachers...good or bad, no consequence. Such is to be expected.
  22. Much of what falls under the definition of "night life" consists of getting drunk, imbibing drugs, being an offensive, strutting wise guy, ridiculing others with less cash in the wallet, or not so pretty in the face or body, and always hoping to copulate somehow. I can't see how Buffalo's night life fails there... It's not like players are out and about seeking classical music or jazz played by eclectic quartets, late-night poetry readings, lectures by notable writers, or new-and-coming art presentations.. .
  23. Well, if you sell protein supplements - Cushing is your man.
