  1. No...I don't. I offer no case in evidence. But any team with an ounce of brains entertains a CB visit, given the way the NFL runs their business these days. The big picture...
  2. The NFL has forged a pass-happy league. Looking at CBs, to me, is just due diligence.
  3. Nicely put. Stating the obvious, it's not at all uncommon for folks in a particular field of endeavor to chat idly about it, and have opinions, whether active or retired. I still keep a casual hand in automotive, no doubt retired NFL players do same for their former work.
  4. I had unfair advantage - the ups and downs of the Schlichter saga have long been popular newspaper fodder here in Ohio.
  5. Both true. Still, I can't fault the Browns...they certainly opened up the checkbook and brought in players they thought would get them over the hump after their improbable '07 season. Too bad it didn't pan out for them.
  6. I'll bet five to one that he doesn't show up for the voluntary workouts.
  7. O paragraph, why hast thou forsaken us?
  8. Are you reading the Wal-Mart paint chips?
  9. Hmmm. I read the Cincinnati Enquirer daily - for years. I've never come across a "Crazy Legs" sobriquet...where are you getting that unattributed statement from?
  10. The Nancy Kerrigan - Tonya Harding incident spiced thingsup at the time. Regarding Olympians - I always though that a televised debate between gymnast Kerry Strug and ex-Senator Al D'Amoto would have been a hoot - two Donald Duck voices locked in combat.
  11. That's OK Italy - surely the most disorganized society on the face of the planet. And that's it's charm.
  12. Jeeze... I thought the music was a nice touch!
  13. You got it. #11 - Joey. Great pic!
  14. Hard to think that a remake of the Stooges could work...different era.
  15. Ocho Dinko was up to his short-arming and miss-run routes. CIN also had a merry-go-round of other receivers because of injury. TJ Housh certainly helped him - I can't over-praise him - he defines the phrase, "consummate professional". I wish him the best of luck with the Seahawks. 12 games' experience is just what it is, and I allow for the fact that opponents didn't have much film on him. I hope BUF gives him the chance to compete for the starting spot. In my view, he was a good acquisition. B'gal's would have loved to have kept him, but the enormity of Palmer's contract precluded paying him anywhere near the FA money he signed for. Time will tell...
  16. Good point. Still, I don't care for the change.
  17. I wonder how the on-field refs will interpret the rule. 3 players within 4 feet of each other? Two players close, and another spotting an opponent zeroing, in moves next to the other two...penalty? I'm not too keen on this other change: ..."The owners eliminated a re-kick after an illegal onside kick, immediately awarding the ball to the receiving team.". I view an on-side kick as a last chance, if you will, for a team to get back into the game. And I like the "surprise" ones that occur from time to time. I know the NFL tweaks rules to try to control overall game length, but I don't care for this restriction on an exciting moment.
  18. He somehow "injured" his wrist before season start, and sported a cast to club opponents with - and got a sobriquet, "The Hammer". DEN DL Rich "The Sheriff" Jackson was a master at the head slap.
  19. Fans. I was trying for a 3-pointer. Low percentage, like Wisconsin vs. Xavier. Wisc. was 3 of 20. What kind of coach doesn't see that coffee going down and changes it up? I despise the 3 point goal, and watch little BBall because of it. 2 players feeding 3 who launch rainbows. Crisp passing? Working the ball in for percentage shots? No more Calvin Murphys, Adrian Dantleys, Pete Maraviches. Bring the ball up, roam the 3 pt line, and launch. Few guards cutting deep into an opening and passing off to a forward or center IMO. I'm old, I'm angry, and I can type.
  20. They're not alone there. I shake my head when team after team on 4th and short drops back for a hand-off. You own the snap count. Get your OL set, then snap the ball immediately and snea, or quickly hand it off to an up back. Beat'em to the punch.
