A caveat: He played LB along with ILB Rey Maualuga. It's always something to consider - see John McCargo. Matthews is a 1-year starter for USC. Good pedigree, no doubt...but it's something to ponder.

Aside - I dislike the defensive radio helmet. I witnessed a game early on, last season - one of the clubs had acquired a long-time vet who was hired by the opposing team, but wasn't on the field yet. It became clear that the vet was feeding info to the DC of his new club. In the 3rd, the commentator Rich Gannon noted that it "was as if X had Y's offensive playbook". The opposing team's players made some comments after their defeat about this. IMO, they were right.

I happen to think that PHI may get suitors for their #21 and #28. The current conventional wisdom is that they are in the market for WR, RB, TE, possibly DB, and some teams see value for themselves in having 2 latter picks in the 1st. They basically have a decent roster IMO, and a "skill" player they think exceptional can help them. IMO. Mack at 21, 28 - even higher, seems to me to be a solid pick. Having a good, all-around center is valuable. I'd be surprised if they went after Peters.
