  1. People spending money at the stadium and local businesses? Ever been to a Ravens game? You have tailgating but you also have restaurants hosting pregame parties. Not everyone wants to grill and chug beer.
  2. Was going to say Perry Projects too. City-owned land ripe for redevelopment between Canalside and Larkinville. Not necessarily. If the Perry Projects are offered up by the city that saves a lot on land acquisition. Tailgating will diminish but not completely go away. One way to argue the benefit of a downtown stadium is if local businesses host pre-game parties, etc. Besides, too much of Buffalo's gameday experience involves getting passed-out drunk. Honestly that's something we need to get away from.
  3. Why? It's rare for a team to have a training center at their stadium.
  4. https://www.allaccess.com/net-news/archive/story/211984/eddie-steele-fired-as-edmonton-elks-radio-analyst-?ref=mail_morning_recap This is why those covering a team have can't just go off on management. Local coverage: https://edmontonsun.com/sports/football/cfl/edmonton-elks/elks-gameday-radio-analyst-eddie-steele-dismissed-over-criticism-of-gm
  5. Did Nagy promise Dalton he'd be the starter no matter what? Reminds me of when Matt Cassell took the very first snap of the season opener before Tyrod took over. His contract stipulated he would be the starter opening day. https://www.espn.com/blog/buffalo-bills/post/_/id/23973/one-snap-played-gets-matt-cassel-extra-58-73-from-bills
  6. Not that McBeane wants him but why not Buffalo? He can avoid being made to look like a chump by Josh Allen and company.
  7. I thought this was a HOME Chargers game?
  8. Vantrese went 6-1 last year, though we were primarily a running team. His problem this year is our gutted O-line. (Thanks again, Lance.) But I do think giving Myers a shot is worth doing.
  9. I think the 2020 Census deserves an asterisk since they half-assed it.
  10. I think the Bulls have shown they are capable of playing well. They just have to stop screwing themselves.
  11. You have to hear this parody song done by a listener for a Brady Hater contest. Masterful. https://985thesportshub.com/episodes/brady-hater-contest-winner-bradys-plastic-surgery-the-stack-10-1-hour-4/
  12. Week 4 with a two game lead on the entire AFC East, 2+ games on the Dolphins. Shoulda, coulda been 3 games.
  13. It would have mattered big time if we were playing a good team.
  14. Was today the best commercial for a new Bills dome, or the best for no dome?
  15. I think US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis is a fabulous template to follow. Glass roof with walls that open for outside air to pass thru. Retractable roof stadiums are a colossal waste of money because when open it's akin to a sunroof on a sedan. Hardly the same as a convertible.
  16. Another flub in the red zone. Settle for 3. 10-7 Bulls.
  17. 7-7 at the half. Blown sure TD by Vantrese but a goal line stand by the Bulls keeps it tied.
  18. There's already a plan to extend Metrorail to UB North campus.
  19. I disagree. Plus there is undeveloped land across from campus on Millersport.
  20. Makes too much sense so it likely won't happen. FYI the proposed cost of building at/near UB was the same as OP: $1.4B. There isn't as much open land where you could build but they could tear down the current mausoleum called UB stadium and build on that footprint. UB could play in OP until completed. To me it's a win-win. Maybe putting a roof on is back on the table too.
  21. Don't be shocked if a shared Bills/UB stadium in Amherst re-emerges as an option. UB's stadium is obsolete. NYS could take care of both. Also don't be shocked if they propose a dome.
