You are correct, no one really knows... but what fun would it be on an opinion speculation thread to say... we dont know ask me in 3 years... With respect to the Browns, I am also factoring in the locker room... and despite being terrible, needing to install a new offense with Dorsey gone or go back to Stephanik's... Watson still being there is a permanent stain on this team that keeps giving etc... then drafting 2 QBs , losing Brissett and bringing back Flacco at 78 years old LOL... I just think is a lot of offseason uncertainty to an offense that was very fragile to begin with... Locking up Myles Garrett was a plus... but have they encouraged players to go public to the media to express their displeasure so they can get new contracts... that is a slippery slope... all and all I think Cleveland has a greater chance of getting worse this year than better...

Well I wont disagree with you there... Clearly Lofton was the extreme example... but I would say lots of folks that I am reading seem to be more excited about this pick up than me, thinking he is really going to change our offensive dynamic... he might... but I dont think so... Conversely, I am seeing a lot of he just isnt that good... etc.. To that I am simply saying look maybe his one or the other... but likely he will be a fair pickup that will give us modest production he will likely not be either extreme and I don't mind taking a shot with players that may come in and over produce... like lets say a Jerry Hughes (better example than Lofton) ... who at pick up I never thought you would get that kind of production out of him.. every now and again it works...

LOL, not sure I am hedging but clearly I am not committing... I just dont think we are getting our savior here (like we did Lofton back in the day) ... I think he ends up in the range of a guy who doesnt make the team like an Claypool or eventually MVS to a moderate contributor say a healthier Samuel... Maybe he goes off and becomes the next greatest thing... I have no idea... we can hope he does... but I think he ends up being a 4th/5th guy on the roster... certainly not your WR2... Not sure that is a hedge, I might venture its probably where most people sit... so let me ask you in all honesty... Where do you think he slots in the WR rankings and production...

I think Cleveland, Miami and Pittsburgh probably the worst... Cleveland because... well they are Cleveland, Miami because it sounds like they have a bit of a locker room issue, Pittsburgh because they are literally in QB hell... I think it gets worse if they sign Rodgers... that will just put off the inevitable... Best I don't know really, I think New England getting adult supervision in their coaching ranks and some very interesting signings may have done well... and I will actually give the Bills some props.. sometimes retaining your own and not losing key players is about as good as anything...

I like that they are trying to find someone to resurrect cheaply based on our cap situation... that said, I dont have hopes that this guy turns into the next James Lofton pickup back in the 90s. I think he will be closer to MVS ... but one can always hope.. and at least this gives us something to hope for... but all too often those resurrection candidates you get cheaply amount to very little... (Coop, MVS, Claypool etc... and no I am not comparing this guy to Coop etc... just in general) ... we shall see and we shall hope...

So you are correct if you are talking about a traditional golf cart, this one is set up to be street legal, with the appropriate base and tires. seat belts etc... HOWEVER, still scares me so it was I wanna see how fast this thing goes... I did, 31mph... but I dont feel good with anything over 15 - 20 on straight aways, and I am an old lady around turns LOL...

Thats what I was thinking, I have a 4 seater that is street legal... he would need to have been hanging on to where the golf bags go, or it was someones private cart..

I have a non golf golf cart, just got it... great little vehicle, but it isnt a toy it is a vehicle that goes over 30 Mph, so easy to mess up... But in this instance like when they are saying fell off the back.... it sounds like he is standing on the golf bag holders and fell backwards and hit his head... if he was seated in the back like a 4 seater... I just cant picture it unless the cart tipped... anyway it doesnt matter what I can picture or not.. I am sure there is going to more to come regarding this... either way I hope this man recovers.

I agree... when you are getting to Rds late 4 thru 7 I am a huge proponent of taking a couple of shots on a boom or bust guy... Sometimes you get Benford, some times you get Ed Wang... but in the end... you find gems late and you have a bonus... now I am not advocating taking big swings at everyone in each Rd, but a couple a draft make sense to me... the TE Dawson Hawes we drafted in the 5th... best blocking TE in the draft... pretty safe pick for a pretty limited role... you are not expecting a Gronk or him to unseat a starter... but someone who can fill a specific role cheap now that Quentin Morris is gone... you need those guys too... but for sure take a shot on a boom bust player once or twice in the later rounds...

So my question is, doesnt it make sense to factor the QB into this equation? So if you put this WR core on the Jets does it change how you rank it? Similar if you put the Titans WR core on the Bills or the Chiefs does it change it? So from my perspective the Wide Receiver position is predicated on the Receiver part... meaning someone is throwing the Ball.... so no, I dont see it as the weakest Receiving core in the league. When we look at Achilles heal, I would say that we at the very top of the league in points scored... I cannot think of a game absent the Ravens beat down where we did not score enough points to win. In our 3 losses (discounting the scrub game at the Pats) we averaged 21 points.... lots of teams would love to average 21 points in a win.... so our WR core is not flashy, but it is effective... it is not the strength of the team, but from a production standpoint it isnt our weakness... we have players with upside potential including Coleman, Shakir and yes... I said it, Kindcaid... we have an explosive 3rd down receiver in Ty Johnson... Now, could we use a drafted alpha receiver sure could we improve... sure... but If I am looking at why we keep losing to KC in the Division and Championship Rds... I am not focusing on WR... but thats just me....

I remember Polian eventually getting to this point after he wasnt able to win one. The old "if you don't like it get out of town" press conference.. the Beane one was tame compared to that... but these guys know that we have never won, they want more than anything to win one, they know the pressure is on, I hate to see them react to it like this... it kinda gives you a sense of we are doing our best but we dont know what else to do feeling.... as opposed to the, calm down, look we know what the goal is, but we scored the most points in the league last year... our offense wasnt the issue... our defense needs to improve on multiple fronts if we are to take that next step and that is what we are trying to do. Sometimes you have to allocate and balance assets... you got two kids names Offense and Defense... sometimes one kid needs more help and attention then the other... so you do what you need to do to make sure they are both in good shape... but instead, he got defensive...

sometimes the stats are the stats... and that is what you get... but... to your point, if you are to get a player that all of a sudden shows up and kills it like a WR might, one of the reasons is that he was in a system without a QB capable, the Browns were a team like that. So, maybe just maybe, you put a speed guy out there with JA then you may have some one that breaks out... the concept of 17 being able to run with an offense that is out there getting the ball away quickly a field stretcher that deters the cheating the deep field is an interesting wrinkle that we could find helpful... especially if you start hitting a few of those.

So I am usually not for adding headaches... but if this guy runs himself out of the burg, I would hope that going on his second team he would at least be able to keep it in between the lines for a year because if he gets run out of a second team... its gonna cost him... but there is always that chance he just is incapable and that immature... but for a 4th I just might take the shot.
