I think some have him too high and some too low... my expectations are hoping that he can round into a solid WR2 with 50/50 ball potential... not sure if others deem that too high or too low... I certainly havent given up... but I think these next two years will show if he can put together back to back seasons of growth... if he can the I think he can get there... if not i am probably too optimistic... those that are looking for him to be Nakua or JJ etc... probably hoping for too much... but 1st year players... lets tap the breaks and see...

Honestly, to your point if he played like an average QB in the league the situation isnt Armageddon but I just don't think that is realistic to expect him to play like a 15,16,17 type QB. Another major factor to me is that the defense was down right bad last year... unless it improves significantly this year I don't think a middling offense is going to win more than 6 games... so rankings etc aside... the Bills needed to score 21 points or more last year 11 times to win games (this included those that they lost) sometimes they needed over 40... (the average team scored 21/22 points last year... so to me the question would be how many times would the Bills score 21 points or more in a game with Mitch and crew...well, I just cant see him playing like a top 20 qb but lets set the bar at 21 points anyways... knowing that sometimes they would need more than 21... that slides us into the 20/21 spot in over all offense. Now, if our defense who gave up 21.6 points per game regresses without Josh, which I think it will (think about all those long time consuming drives that they had a seat last year and watched being replaced by a ton of 3 or 6 and outs...) I am not sure you get more than 6 or 7 wins overall... To me the Josh factor extends to both sides of the ball... so yes there were several quick strikes... but he made his money on long 5 minute beat you down drives... that to me adds up to bad things for a mediocre at best defense... now, with our additions does it get better, we will see... but going off of last year it doesnt look good to me. Now, to your point... what would KCs record be? Or Baltimore? etc... you lose a player of that caliber you got problems... they are the molding that covers all of the imperfections on your team... Lets hope we don't have to find out who is right here... just sayin.. Just made the same point... what happens when those 5-7 minute beat down drives that Josh made a living off of turn into 3 and outs...

Unless the Defense has some kind of resurrection that I am not envisioning... Definitely top 10... I would think about 6 wins would be my number... top 5 would have to be pretty disastrous.

Its hard to put Josh ahead of our legendary QB... right... but in the end... Josh does things that Kelly could never do... his ability to run... throw off of a scramble ... avoid drive ending sacks... Jimbo never had... Jimbo presence made people a little bit better... Josh, simply makes those around him so much better than I think they would be elsewhere... So I agree Josh is a generational talent..

I am not sure that folks remember just how insanely loaded those teams were... the fact they did not win one was absolutely on the coaching staff... I would rank the defensive players... as HOF/All Pro Smith Bennett Talley Conlan L Smith Odomes I think only Benford fits into this group... Maybe Milano in his prime when there was some healthy time... you could debate Bernard... but Bottom line the defense was stacked... The offense 4 HOFers 8 Pro Bowlers Kelly Reed Lofton Thomas Hull Ritcher Wolford Ballard I think Allen, Dawkins, if you go back to Diggs, maybe McGovern belong in this catagory... Debate on Cook... not sure he really compares at this point to Thurman but sure throw him in. Bottom line is this team was loaded... I can only imagine what Josh would have done in that era...

I am failing to see the Superbowl thing, so under this theory, Frank Reich was better than Josh at making in to Superbowl's... or Jamie Mueller... or Gale Gilbert...So are we suggesting we take Gale or Jamie over Josh? So I am not sure if you are just busting chops or being a smidge tongue in cheek... If so, you got me good LOL... as I write this long winded response.... 😆 but if you are not... I am not sure of the intent of this comparison.... Like, Jamie Mueller or Frank Riech or Gale Gilbert should be lauded for their ability to make Super Bowls... ? I guess ... Now If it was just simply situational I am not sure that this makes Kelly better than Josh... if you are arguing Kelly was blessed with more talent on his team in a weaker conference thus made it to more Superbowl's, I wouldn't call this better I would call this fortunate...If you are saying it was some performance or leadership intangible that Kelly had that propelled himself and his team to Super Bowls (remember Frank Riech propelled us as well) ... You are essentially saying that if you magically switched QBs... with eras that Kelly would do better with this team than Josh would do with the 90s teams.... if you are saying that, you are effectively saying that Kelly is better at much more than going to Super Bowls than Josh... I am with you, I am a big believer in longevity, however, I believe when all is said and done he will be known as the best Bill for a very very very long time... generational is rare... he is generational.

So WR and DBs seem to take a minute to develop depending on their maturity etc... so I have hope he grows... I do not believe he will be the 2nd coming of Andre, but if he develops into a really good WR2 I am pretty sure I would be ok with that... Maybe he does have 1WR potential... I am just not seeing that... but who am I.... but give me a Lofton to a Reed, or a Lewis to Butler, Evans to Moulds... etc...and thats solid... lets see how he progresses... too early for me to draw any conclusions especially with an injury that lasted weeks in a season...

I think i feel bad for anyone with a mental illness so I guess yes I feel bad for him.... but I feel worse for his kids the people he comes into contract with and society in general as long as his is out there being an idiot.
