  1. Antowain Smith and LaGarette Blount..and in the case of Cory Dillon - that guy barely cracked 100 receiving yards per season in 3 seasons with the Pats
  2. I knew a kid that was supposed to have a threesome with 2 chicks in high school. He got the address wrong to the house. The door wasn't locked, he went in, sat on the couch, got naked, and the people who lived there came home. He was only 2 doors down from where he was supposed to be. The girls ended up corroborating his story a day later and the felony trespass was dropped, but he was arrested and the whole thing was a mess. He missed a bunch of school days... Perhaps he was there for a late night threesome and got the house wrong.
  3. Happily shocked is right...that's spot on. It's so nice to be building depth with players that have real NFL experience and have at least been serviceable spot starters. The thing we lacked the most in past years was competition at each roster spot. We always had starters at some positions that could hold their own, but man...the drop off to the backup guys was brutal. A roster full of dumpster fire retreads at best. Hell, we'd have backup offensive linemen enter the game and pick up a false start penalty on back to back drives or safeties that would leave guys running free like they didn't know the play. It was maddening.
  4. Eric Ebron was the number 9 pick....not elite at all, but higher rated than serviceable and better than average.
  5. I'm not saying you cut him after a sophomore slump, I'm just saying you can still go QB and draft another one. It's been 20 years since we've had a QB even in the top half of the league. We've never had anyone that could win a game on their own, that's for sure. They should have been drafting another 1 EVERY year of this drought just to find one that can play. That position is everything. I never understood these guys that want glorified game managers with a strong defense and run game. First, that's boring - second...it's not a sustainable way to win long term. That's why Brady, Manning, Rothleisberger, Brees, Wison, Warner, and Rodgers had the most success - the last 2 decades. They are THE ONLY hands down, no doubt about it - "franchise" guys. In a tier all their own. Matt Ryan and Eli in the second tier of that list.
  6. If I were Brandon Beane, I'd be shopping number 9 for a lower first rounder this year and a first rounder next year. (try to get a 2 for 1 somehow) - the opposite of what the Bills did for Sammy Watkins. That way, let's say the Josh Allen experiment goes awry and the kid goes off the rails in year 2 - he has 2 first round picks next year (much like last year when he landed Edmunds and Allen).
  7. Then why not get in the top 10 and trade down for more picks for the offensive help? You know that someone is gonna want to move up - if you need a lot of help, then stockpile more picks.
  8. The biggest thing to me is his confidence and poise. He has zero time, yet he never looks panicked. He has a good command of the huddle and it genuinely looks like he's having fun. I think he's going to develop into an exciting comeback player when he's down in games, and he's going to play well with the lead. He has to stay healthy though, he's taken a lot of hits - but seems to be able to shrug those off like Big Ben in Pittsburgh.
  9. Imagine if he had receivers that could actually get separation, even occasionally? Honestly, except for the occasional blown coverage where someone clearly misses an assignment - it was really nice to see Foster run by someone and get a few paces of cushion.
  10. In town with a mix of Bills fans from all over -there’s 6 of us from Boston and Cleveland - is there room? We have 1 car but it’s a roomy Honda Pilot. We can be there before 9 AM
  11. Truth - he's not an upgrade. Honestly, Chan Gailey or Greg Roman would be better. He's gone, perhaps mid-season, perhaps he might last till Christmas.
  12. Not negative - prophetic lol You meant 18-1, right?
  13. Curious to see if Daboll crashes and burns, will this be his last stop? Dennison only got one year with McDermott, and he was gone - and that was calling plays for a playoff team. Daboll is a real worry for me, and I'm not convinced he's an upgrade over Dennison. The Browns were 29th and 31st in offense when he was the offensive coordinator in Cleveland. Given, he had Jake Delhomme and Colt McCoy - so perhaps there just wasn't much to work with there. In KC in 2013, he had Matt Cassell. He was there pre-Andy Reid, and I remember a stat from that season that one night Peyton Manning had 7 touchdown passes in a game, while Kansas City had 8 touchdown passes all season (or something crazy like that, perhaps it wasn't 8 touchdown passes, it might have been 8 touchdown passes to wide receivers, but regardless, they were dead last in offense, ranked 32nd in points. When my friends from Missouri heard that we hired Daboll, all I got was grief about how ****ty he was. Yeah, he had the time coaching tight ends for the Pats, and had the season in college with Alabama, but I think he is not long for the Bills. I think he will have a very short leash in Buffalo. Regardless of whether we have any weapons at all (we have very little talent on that side of the ball) - my guess is that if he struggle with the play calling and creating offense, he will be gone really soon. Perhaps that circular reasoning, because maybe no coaches could be successful with those options at QB, but still - their QB's were probably not as bad as Peterman.
  14. “If a model gives 10 QBs a 66% chance of busting and they ALL bust, that means the model is broken.” That’s not true. It means the model is improbable/unlikely to be accurate with only 10 objects, but doesn’t mean it’s broken. My wife is an actuary, and I asked her (she’s the master at probabilities) 10 isn’t even close to enough. Even heads 10 times on a row on coin flips happens every 1 in 2000 chances. That’s on 50/50 odds each flip. Queue the line from Dumb and Dumber “So...you’re telling me there’s a chance” Josh Allen is probably going to bust and fail - but there’s a chance he won’t
  15. Jim Kelly had defeated cancer more times than the Bills have defeated Brady in the modern era.
  16. Coordinators that are better play callers than Rick Dennison: 1.) Helen Keller 2.) Ray Charles
  17. Or our receivers get zero separation - because DB's don't fear any Bills QB's at all. Too small of a sample size to know about Peterman. One bad game (Chargers) and an emergency playoff game (single drive).
  18. Until he had that costly drop for the Ravens that sent the Pats to another Superbowl. That was his biggest, most important reception attempt ever for Bills fans.
  19. The WORSt nightmare for the Bills is for Tyrod to play well and have us make the playoffs with him at quarterback. That would ensure an early exit from the playoffs - which is as meaningless as making the playoffs with the talent on this team - and we RETAIN both Dennisson and Tyrod and have the same crap for another year. Trust me, McDermott will be all about "the process" and won't shake up anything if we make the playoffs. We NEED to miss the playoffs, dump the coordinator and QB, and draft or sign a guy. Anything else is a disaster.
  20. True, but fans LOVE the Mr. Irrelevant story of a late round draft pick having success. I live in Patriots country - and I get VERY tired of hearing about Brady falling to the sixth round and how amazing he is. Just imagine if the Bills took Kelly in the 7th and he ended up being a stud. Would have been a great story to dish out some of that as a fan.
  21. I think Fox, ESPN, etc...should have to host a "post-season" show where their rants about pre-draft results are stacked up against real first season game statistics....for example, "EJ is a late second, third round" and just work from there. I would watch it every year. I might even DVR it as "must see TV"
