  1. Bills are stuffing the run today (which they have not done yet this season) but they are not getting much of a pass rush (which has been great so far this season) It's early and they are at home. Time to grind it on the ground for a while and impose our will on them!
  2. It could have been any one of about 1/2 of the players on the team. Let's face it - football is a very violent sport, and is not exactly full of "high charachter" guys... I saw a special on the game a few years ago and you wouldn't believe the things that are said at the line of scrimmage and in the individual matchups. It's so competitive and there is so much emotion that a person in the heat of battle might be inclined to say just about anything, especially if it is hurtful or a sensitive area as is the case with Coles. I wouldn't read to much into it - it was likely a comment that would never be made off the field...
  3. My thought exactly. The key to making the playoffs (and yes, there are many) is trying to be strong at home and at least .500 at home. If we can win 6 of 8 at home and go 4-4 on the road, (1-1) so far...we are there.
  4. Horrible point... You also are assuming that the Bill would have definitely made the field goal - but even that is not automatic (bad snaps, holds, kicks, etc.)
  5. You have to go for it every time in that situation - for a lot of reasons... First, the offense wants to go for it and feels confident. Second, mathematically - you are going to score more points over the course of a season being aggressive than being passive (Greg Williams punt on the Pats 32 yard line bring back any memories?) Third - one has to consider how the defense is playing. Turning it over on downs at the 7 yard line GENERALLY does not lead to a 93 yard touchdown drive for the opposition (very rare)... I love the call... I only hope Jauron makes the same one again in the future.
  6. Should I start the Pats defense at home against the Bills or the Colts defense on the road against the Giants in a Manning vs. Manning matchup?
  7. cbs.sportsline.com is not too bad.. I used their tips for my draft and so far I am undefeated!
  8. C'mon Coach Tuesday... Now is sucktitude really a word? How about suckability, sucktential, or suckedness?
  9. I became a Bills fan back in 1990. I was a troubled kid/messed up home life - and was a ward of the state. That summer I was doing forced volunteer work at a a food pantry for the poor. I worked my butt off for an entire summer and the guy who ran the place happened to have a brother that worked in the Bills front office. One day I got a package in the mail with an autographed picture of Jim Kelly... 12 years old at the time but I would bleed Bills blue from then on...
  10. What kind of morons think that NFL teams and scouts actually care how players are ranked by Kiper and other outlets for garnering commentary on this event. Don't you think the Bills brass knows what they are doing? I - for one, have confidence in the organization and won't second guess a solid pick. If they got "their guy" and it wasn't the value that most people would like to see - too bad. If he's another Coy Wire I will be disappointed, another Henry Jones - I will take it and give them a passing grade with flying colors.
  11. Listen everyone - we will all spend the rest of the afternoon p i s s i n g and moaning about this pick, but it is a NEED without a doubt. We gave up 55 RUSHES of 10 yards or more last year and we really NEEDED a dominant safety that can support the run and cut down on big pass plays. Look at what an impact Polamalu made in Pittsburgh and Boulware in Seattle - no question that they were MVP's of the defense.
  12. Breaking News: All Boston sports media outlets and fans have concluded that the reason LSU defeated Duke last night has nothing to do with the fact that Reddick was 3 for 18 shooting the ball. LSU won because LSU's coach has the last name of "Brady".
  13. All the talk is about how Martz would have made more than the head coach (Jauron) if he was hired here as a coordinator. Any idea what Marv Levy's salary was back in the day when he was head coach, and more importantly, how that figure compared to the salaries of other coaches in the league at that time?
  14. Regarding Villarial's comments: "There's a lot of players in this league who want to play for Dick Jauron and that's going to help us in free agency. Buffalo fans will see he's a true football coach and a down to earth guy and he's a winner." Isn't that overrated? Could it make that much of a difference, or overall, does money still talk the loudest?
  15. Just wanted to see how long this thread would stay in view.
  16. Mauch always looked like he was about to go postal, like he was smelling something horrible or rotten.
  17. I would be happy, I don't think he was ever really in a win/win situation under a guy like Levy like he will have here in Buffalo. I would welcome him, but would still rather have Sherman.
  18. Patriots Dynasty, 4, of New England, died January 14, 2006 at Invesco Field in Denver. Dynasty was born on January 19, 2002 to the Tuck Rule in Foxborough, Mass., and was confirmed weeks later at Super Bowl XXXVI. Surviving are a loving media and a large, but rapidly emptying, bandwagon. Services will be held in the form of commemorative books and DVDs. In lieu of flowers, please stop disrespecting them.
  19. Let's hand it to them, they won even though they were the "Bickering Bills" of the early 90's. Can anyone who really knew those teams inside and out comment on how the "Bickering Bills" were different from the players that the Bills have now (minus the wins)? The point is, I don't think the teams back then were necessarily more talented than the current bills , just less dysfunctional, and they played better as a team. We have some serious issues here, with the Eric Moulds, Sam Adams, Willis McGahee "number 1" comments in inner-team issues. But didn't the Bills of the 90's have those same problems? What was it about the early 90's Bills that allowed them to have a defense that was very poor statistically (but had some playmakers) yet still they knew how to win? Can Marv really see those issues and make changes? Isn't the person that is going to witness them first-hand (Mularkey) already proving that he is ill-prepared to handle the coaching duties?
  20. Although not spectalular, the tuba has met expectations. I think he stays, he just needs a better supporting cast. I do agree that it is out with the rest of the brass, though...
  21. The only truly good thing that Indy's success brings is that it is getting the national media's head out of Tom Brady and the rest of the Patriot's a*s*s*e*s. I would love to see Indy go 16-0 and win the Superbowl, with Manning as the MVP not only because I think they have the best team right now but because it will overshadow and dwarf the Pats success over the past few years. The Media will have a new "darling" to make over, and I might finally get some peace being a Bills fan living near Boston.
  22. I ask myself if the weather was a factor, and if JP really does have accuracy issues, and I have to say yes and no... Carson Palmer and Eli Manning made some HORRIBLE throws their first year, and I think JP needs some slack. But I think there could be a lot to the accuracy issue, because I go back to the other QB playing in that game, and the over the shoulder pass to Faulk is a throw that I have NEVER seen JP make. Bouncing the ball at the feet of receivers is usually about retreating to make the throw and not having the time to step into it. That will come with improved offensive line play. I think he is going to be fine but he may never have Joe Montana accuracy...
  23. Anyone else besides me think that what is happening to JP now (no offensive line, no running game, packet collapsing, etc..) is the best thing that can happen to him in his development as long as he can stay healthy? Are his horrible numbers that much worse in relation to John Elway, Kelly, other young QB's who are playing in horrible offenses that are always trying to come from behind?
  24. What sucks about the approval rating is that John Fox and Marvin Lewis are right at the top. Thanks alot Donahoebag....
