  1. I didn't I thought they were going to make it a two score game yesterday late and much like the tampa game noy allow the defense to blow it.
  2. stop and think about the crap storm that would have come down on Allen and in turn the team had he spoken out of line about anything related to the team. The narrative was put into place by diggs actions after the bengals loss in the playoffs. Allen does not get to speak out on these things.
  3. Umm no. You are not responding to what I said correctly. In the last ten years the eagles have not done anymore and in some cases have done less than the teams I mentioned. What does the rams 2000 team have to do with anything? The Sean McVay-Les Snead duo in Los Angeles has lost a super bowl and won a super bowl, two different qbs. (They look like they have young talent again) Pete Carroll - John schneider have won a super bowl and lost a super bowl. Andy Reid - Brett Veach - two sb championships Bill Belichick no point in listing accomplishments. SF seems to be about ready to be on this list with a lost a super bowl and won a super bowl also. so.. Kyle Shannahn - John Lynch the eagles have not done anything much different than any of these people and if they blow this season (I think they will) I mean how are they the best.
  4. I want an offensive head coach with a good system but.... sometimes coaches like Andy Reid, Dick Vermeil, Tony Dungy, Bill Belichick, Pete Carroll need a second or third chance to apply what they have done wrong in past situations and get better going forward in order to win. having said that. Dan Quinn is going to be a huge candidate and especially if Dallas ends up Getting the nfc championship which I sadly think they are going to if the nfc ends up how I think it will. So Dan Quinn here as head coach, with one of his guys as defensive coordinator and a young offensive coach (Maybe Brady) like he had in shannahan in Atlanta could be something that works. In a year where there will be changes on defense its as good a time as any to have an established defensive guy here to help make the changes he wants. Players love Dan Quinn, he kind of has a bit of Dan Campbell ness to him. He refused jobs last year to stay in Dallas and try and win a super bowl.....Some think he is just waiting out McCarthy if he blows it in the playoffs again this year....but I can't imagine he doesn't take a job when offered this year......more importantly no one is turning down a job to a coach a Team with Josh Allen. just spitballing.....kind of like having a different version of McDermott I guess.
  5. I think yesterday was unique. They ran a ton of plays and the weather was bad. Using all the active wr makes sense to me. I don't see anything wrong with diggs being out a few plays on 3rd downs. He may have had something we don't know about bothering him yesterday or maybe he was just winded at times like everyone else. The wr job description number 1 is to be able to run all day but even in saying that They ran a lot of plays and if he was subbed because he needed a breather or they were giving him one to keep him fresh I do not see it as a problem.
  6. OMG yet another back handed blame Josh Allen post. You guys are going to blame him for the winter being cold soon.
  7. yea they have done a good job. Yes they beat new england and change the staff. I am just saying if the eagles front office is going to be talked about being among the best shouldn't they have more than one championship? Usually the best do it more than once to get that reputation. and one more nitpicky thing here, the Eagles were given the gift of all gifts last year playing the giants at home in the divisional round and the 49ers with no qb for 3 quarters in the championship game. Its not like they went on some NY giants 07 or 11 run and made this historic finish from the wild card to champions? They got the ultimate break last year in that championship game and then lost the next week. I do not think they beat SF last year if purdy stays healthy and I do not believe they beat SF or Dallas this year if they play them in the playoffs. so yea the eagles front office has made some excellent decisions and dumping wentz and putting in Hurts was the best one but I just think calling them the best is not fair, not when there are other front offices who have the same accomplishments. I mean if you go back over the last 10 years Seattle, KC, New England, Rams all have done the same or more.
  8. The best front offices win super bowls and play in a lot of them. Howie roseman has made some excellent moves but I mean before he is declared the best shouldn't they win some championships? You could make the case the Rams have been much better in the front office, GM and Head Coach than the eagles have been.
  9. yea he was right there and romo repeatedly mentioned it and they never showed the replay that had davis like 5 feet from Allen. everything about that call and that sequence stinks.
  10. https://x.com/JamesPalmerTV/status/1728951864753111357?s=20
  11. Hell No. he is a terrible coach.
  12. They are up there for sure. The funny thing is they don't win anything really. I get that fans hate Yankees fans ( I am one), bulls fans, pats fans etc. etc.. They have a history and culture of winning. The eagles history is just losing playoff games. I mean they had the all time greatest head coach offensive coordinator personnel man etc....in Andy Reid and made it to one super bowl and lost. I mean come on. again I am 100 % convinced they are going to slip here and blow the division and lose in the divisional round. I am going to be rooting for the Detroit Lions so hard...I was really rooting for the Rust belt super bowl we all deserve this year but I guess it is not to be. we are probably going to be forced to sit through KC and SF or worse KC and Dallas.
  13. Oh No... what is the medical report? is he going to make it? I hope his family was able to make it in time for the priest to administer his last rights. Now if you will excuse me I am going to go dust my ten foot live laugh love wooden sign by my front door and pray for the city of Philadelphia in this trying time.
  14. not to mention he had no leverage. He was beat at the snap of the ball and was chasing davis with his back turned. That is a recipe for a td or a PI. The broncos did it to buffalo two weeks ago and got a cheap PI and ended up winning the game on that drive. People keep using the word leverage and they are confusing it with position. The db basically was beat and turned and was chasing. If davis goes inside he has an easy catch looking right at the ball and the d back is again, chasing with his back turned and would probably commit a PI or just be flat out late. anyway, whatever I guess.
  15. Nope. It is not. The rules are setup to keep these games close....If you have a big lead it is not safe and if you are trailing late it is never insurmountable. Unlike MLB where you really earn your wins, (there are no Flags thrown after a walk off home run or a double play turned in the bottom of the 9th where the offense gets another crack at it because a player was 6 inches out of position before the pitch having nothing to do with the play...and yes i know they put in rules against the shift and how far over the ss and 2b can be) anyway. The NFL competition committee wants the game this way exactly. 4th and forever late in the game down 4 or 6 just heave one up and the officials will call anything close a penalty to give you another chance. This is how the competition committee wants it and this is how they call it. Yesterday was an atrocious day for the over officious jerks...they missed three shots to the heads of bills players, blatant PI and a ridiculous horse collar....Nothing will come of it and no one will care in a few days or weeks after the next thing grabs the headlines. As long as people are watching and the games are close the NFL Owners are winning.
  16. Yep that is always the trick. Look at the dolphins head coach and your first impression would be he is one of the offensive quality control guys...instead he is running a very good team having a good season. On the flip side look at washington. They have the prototypical head coach and he is about to be fired. the trend and for good reason since the rules are what they are is to have a good offensive young mind to pair with a high end qb and a veteran staff, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Personally and I know it is not possible but Sean McVay as the head coach with this offense and a veteran defensive staff would be pretty great. Again, I know that is not an option. I will say I am 100% against any coaches from the Andy Reid tree or the Bill Belichick tree.
  17. There was no player in the stands fighting a fan. There were players reacting to a fan heckling them. No one was hurt, no one was hit. It was a big nothing from a group of frustrated guys. that is all. people clutching their pearls and acting like this is malice at the palace part two...i mean give me a break.
  18. Great. Note to the offense. You will need to be up 9 points or more with 1:00 minute or so left on the clock in every game going forward or the philadelphia football savant who runs everything here will find a way to lose the game for you.
  19. To soon to know. But look around the league. The eagles pulled sirianni out of nowhere essentially. The colts this year have a young head coach with little experience and here they are at 6-5. The dolphins are the same. Someone needs to be brought in here who will bring excellent coordinators and can handle the nuances of the game late and in the immediate future they are going to have to be able to handle the Diggs situation which will probably be bad at the end of the year. The era of retreads is kind of over because that era of coaches are all too old or not around anymore. Its all fresh faces essentially. i have zero doubt a new defensive coordinator and roster changes will improve the defense and I have zero doubt the special teams will improve also with coaching and roster changes. Sean McDermott seems to be an excellent secondary coach but he just cant get it right late in games and that is the damn job. I would imagine the next head coach is from an offensive background, someone who can bring something here to really make this offense take off while a veteran defensive staff runs that side of the ball.
  20. I didn't say you wanted to get rid of Allen. I am saying when you have a guy like Allen in your prime you do everything you can at all times to keep talent around him and the best coaching you can. If the cap is maxxed out and money is pushed down the road that is fine, keep doing it as long as he is here. A few of the big contracts will be gone in a few years and other guys who are older will be replaced. my point is that there is absolutely no way in hell you ever say well we will clean up the cap and try to compete in 3 years when you have this QB and this offense. No way and anybody they bring in to be the head coach or possible GM in the future should be asked to leave the office as soon as they say this. The first task here is to go out and get the best staff they can get and then let that staff make the changes to the defense they want and then let them coach it their way. The current situation is not a good one and the defense and special teams simply keep making mistakes late to get them beat.
  21. Pretty much the nfc east teams and some others like the raiders, patriots etc.. basically if your owner is a celebrity and a reaction can be attained by showing him then they will. I have no problem with the eagles owner, he is a good dude unlike a lot of the people who own these franchises. and have no fear on the eagles losing. They are basically setup to have the rug pulled on them. They have that look like the 15-1 packers who were invincible in 2011 only to lose to a 9-7 Giants team at lambeau. There day is coming.
  22. Not to be a jerk but you could not be more wrong. This organization should go out and get the best coaching staff it can and continue to shuffle in players to help. They should be right at the maxxed out point every year Allen is the qb. When you have a guy like that at qb...and frankly this offense in general which is pretty outstanding with a very good offensive line, you should never ever ever be talking about 2 or 3 years down the road and this nonsense about cleaning up the cap. EFF the cap. Keep it pushed right to the limit. When you get out from under a few of the big contracts go right out and sign some more. Worry about the damn cap and all that crap when you are back to having Trent Edwards at QB. For now You go all in every year until you reach your goal or you go down swinging trying to reach it.
  23. Who cares. These guys are all frustrated. Everyone is so soft with this stuff. They were just yelling at each other. I worked in a grocery store in high school and college and there was a guy who worked there who got into an actual fight with Ty Domi after heckling him at a game. No one cared, the dude got called for saying stupid stuff. No one died. Life went on. Besides in a few weeks when the eagles blow the division and then ultimately lose in the playoffs in a game similar to today's where they cant come back those same eagles fans will hate all their own players.
  24. Good lord. It is right in front of everyone's face. The Head Coach runs everything here, the GM works for him and he is the HC and DC who calls plays. The players that come in here are his guys he wants. Everything the organization is doing is what McDermott wants. Time has proven that he is not worthy of all this credit. He does not know how to close out a game and he repeatedly passes the buck. His time has come. It can not be any more obvious. Your side of the ball which you are in complete control of has blown 3 games when handed the lead late. They can not get stops to save their life. They rush four play soft and give up huge chunks of yards everytime in this situation. He also has the unique ability to call Blitzes at the wrong times and is pretty awful with calling timeouts in these situations. If you want to have an authoritarian who is in charge of everything he should be someone that has closed the deal before. If the organization wanted to have it run this way they should have done everything they could have to go get Sean Payton last February. IMO Sean McDermott is not worthy of all this power and his time here is up. If you are worried about disrupting the team or something by firing him then you have not paid attention to the league. Teams are bringing in new guys all the time and getting good results....at least the same results Buffalo has. Look at what Brian Flores has done for Minnesota's defense in one half season so far. There are defensive coordinators who are good at their job on every damn corner. I am 100 % positive a new DC would be perfectly fine with what they will be handed on defense here even though there are changes coming on that side of the ball next year. This is the NFL not a hallmark movie. You only get so many opportunities to show you can not figure it out before you are replaced. Its time the head coach was replaced here. There are some outstanding players on this team and they deserve a Better head coach and some world class coordinators. This aww shucks hindsight is 20/20 and the qb played well enough to win the LAST TWO WEEKS crap is ridiculous. Mcdermott has gone from a possible long term head coach to a guy who seems to have not many contacts in the coaching business to work with him all of a sudden. He is now the Buffalo Bills Jason Garrett. If he is not replaced this exactly who he will be...a guy who is here just because they are afraid to make a change. I am not interested in anything McDermott says going forward. I just simply do not care what he has to say. His words mean little when he keeps taking the same math test and failing. He is the head coach responsible for every part of the team as he wanted. The special teams here are not good this year, he had to fire his OC and his own personal Defense he is coordinating and calling has a glass jaw late in games. Nothing more needs to be said. These are the situations when you make a change.
