If you look at them through these last handful of years you’d see that they have let a lot of home grown talent walked without tying up huge cap space to retain them. Instead they opted to replaced those talents with cheaper draft picks. ‘Possibly losing their best corner’ is not a new thing for them. They let Charvarious Ward walked after the first Superbowl so they wouldn’t have to pay him the big contract. They replaced him with Snead. Now they have McDuffie in line if Snead leaves as well as others they’re grooming. That’s the difference between them and the Bills. You’re touting the Bills for keeping their picks but at what price? Add in some of the dead money big FA contracts like Von and I’m not sure how you don’t see the difference in the two FO’s. When you bring up lucky plays you are trying to diminish what they’ve accomplished. If this was a one off Superbowl you’d have a better argument. But this is the second leg of a back-to-back and 3rd out of 4 Superbowls they’ve played in. No amount of lucky bounces can account for that level of success. And they’re still in a better cap situation than the Bills with a younger team primed to chase more championships. But yeah keep thinking the difference between the two FO’s ‘is literally 1-2 lucky plays’.

Should Bills look at him? At least he shows up in the playoffs.

Man this side argument is more entertaining than the draft talk! Please continue. -
Agreed. Not every KC move needs to be lauded as genius. What’s more important to me is their overall philosophy of doing business when you have the guy at QB. It affords them the ability to move on from great players, still in their prime, to accumulate pieces for the team. They drafted Snead in the lower rounds and developed him. Now they’re reaping that reward. By tagging him they will get a first if someone else wants him. It also allows the market to set his price and have the right to match. It’s not genius but it’s definitely a great move. NFL teams are closely matched because of the cap. It’s a design purpose. So when you say a team ‘scraped’ by another team that means they beat them. There aren’t style points in the NFL. Great teams make those extra 1 or 2 plays to get the win. In KC’s case this year they did that 3 times in a row against very good teams in the highest of pressured situations. That’s not easy to do. Bills, Balt, SF couldn’t do it. Unfortunately Bills are a good team but not a great team yet. So that leaves us fans with a lot of feel good ‘what if’ scenarios.

Just don’t go to MIA. lol

That’s why I think KC will tag him. For the picks. Detroit is a good spot. Their secondary needs help.

This is such a great point! I agree completely about the commercials. They’re getting out of hand. Can you imagine how many more are on the way this offseason? If Taylor Swifts ends up in a commercial with the Chiefs I might puke. Fudge. As for the discussion topics I think because KC is our main obstacle any Bills discussion of being successful will involve them. So be it. If the first page ever gets filled with all KC threads I’ll be on the picket line with you protesting.

I hear ya. Not just here but also every football show seemingly leads with KC headlines. We just have to come to term with KC being a dynasty now. Personally, I try to leave the emotions out of it. They’re at the top and deserve the respect. You can’t beat your opponent if you don’t respect and learn from them. Just my view.

Huh. You realized this is the first year Spags has a top defense for KC right? It’s because of them drafting and developing players like Snead. Spags system didn’t produce him. His ability (along with McDuffie’s) locking up opponents’ receivers is what enabled Spags pressure packages to work so effectively. I hope another team ponies up for his services. Because if he’s back with KC next season expect their defense to keep being one of the best. I mean it’s not unwarranted right? They’ve been the most successful team the last 5-6 years. Winning 3 Championships while not being cap strapped. Drafting and developing players to turnover roster after roster without skipping a beat. That’s admirable. They’ve been better than everyone else at doing that. With a copy cat league like the NFL other teams will try to emulate as they should.
-
Curious as to why you feel he wouldn’t be a difference maker for other teams? He has proven to be a top corner the last couple of years.

So either KC keeps Snead this upcoming season or gets a 1st round pick in a trade? That’s some bs Superbowl Champion problem right there. Rich stays rich.

Dion Dawkins doesn’t like the Jets DL very much

Exactly! If they had played our starters like the previous two playoff games things would’ve turned out differently…oh wait. -

Not surprised at all. Bills and the media were talking so much about how it’s Mahomes first playoff game on the road. How Bills finally got KC to go to their house. How this is it. They’re finally going to get over the hump against KC. Fans on social media were confident Bills would win because it’s at OP and KC was vulnerable. KC was fired up and wanted to prove a point. And they did. Balt was smart and didn’t talk trash before their game. KC handled it like a business trip and moved on. -

Chiefs-Bills trade that landed Kansas City Patrick Mahomes

This is the offseason so expect a monthly, if not weekly, dose. -
Sure why not. Overpaying for a punter would be the least concern of all the bad overpriced contracts. At least he’s reliable.

In the multiverse somewhere Allen is debated as challenging Brady for goat status while Mahomes is racking up CY Young awards in MLB. -
Another KC thread? SMH 🤦

Chiefs-Bills trade that landed Kansas City Patrick Mahomes

Disagree. The only two organizations with regrets are Chicago and SF. Chicago for taking Trubiski. While Kyle Shanahan, alleged qb guru, couldn’t even identified talent. Imagine if he had taken Mahomes there. SF would be KC. -

Both teams won that trade. Mahomes wasn’t even projected as 1st round talent until late in the draft process. Credit KC for seeing something no one else did.
