I always back up my claim that I was there the same way: I was in a box. I had pizza, booze, wings, peanuts, cheese, crackers, dessert and a comfortable chair with a good view...I was also fat then...why in the world would I leave?
"Here's to the 'Andy & Jordan Dalton Foundation', the richest foundation in Bedford Falls!"
Should old acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind!
Not to pat ourselves on the back, but this has to be a huge story throughout the week or lead up to pre-game, or for one of those closing stories on the nightly news.
Man, there has been so many great moments in sports that I have seen and that sports have provide me.
This one, with this charity, and for the reasoning behind it, truly falls under the category of a nice moment for all those involved.
I'm so proud of this fan base, and still very appreciative to AD for the pass.
BTW, guys, how long afterwards for the e-mail to show-up?
I just want to be sure it went through. They said it did, but just looking for the verification.
So so badly I wanted Wilson in the third, John. I thought jump up, get him and let him sit behind Fitzy for a year (no hindsight then!).
they jumped up and took Graham...we were Billsy then. You know, pre playoffs.
Join the club, I've been like this for a couple of months.
it is so wrong to think this way, but I almost hop he gets in trouble just so he would drop.
Respectfully, if memory serves me I do not believe '04 was "win and your in." It became that as everything we needed to happen fell into place and an opportunity against Pittsburgh back-ups was missed. I thought we need (at least) the Jets to lose, and they did.
I just don't remember it being win and your in.
EDIT: Yeah, we would have beat the Jets in a tie-breaker. The Jets were 10-4 and then they lost their last two games, the last one in OT.
I will say this, I am honestly thinking for the first real time that if they absolutely love one of the top guys that I would be OK with them parting with three first round draft picks to get him.
Will it set us back at other positions? Definitely. We need this though, you guys...oh, we need this so badly.
EDIT: 4-12 (1986) and 7-8 (1987) Jim Kelly were so much more exciting and meaningful than the last decade or so. I know we had better foundation then, but still.
Hindsight being ridiculously 20/20 and considering the internal rift, any chance New England would have taken our earlier number 1 (give them the option) for Jimmy?
I hate when I am reminded that I am getting old and that things, time and unfortunately, people, all pass.
he was a good one. Condolences to his family.
Tangent here...
Man, how much I would love to read on Christmas morning (after having watched it on Christmas Eve):
"No Shady for Pats as LeSean lights up New England for 160 yards on the ground and 105 through the air, with 4TDs setting a personal record in a Buffalo uniform."
Incognito put it best, "I mean it was ridiculous. We barely had to hold our blocks and he was gone. As far as the ten receptions go, what can I say? They knew he was going to get them and they still just couldn't cover him. Lee should have known better. We needed every one of those first downs and I will never forget the over the shoulder TD grab as long as I live."
Please, please, please...is it really just plain too much to ask for a miracle from the Colts?
I'ts a damn football game, Indy. Come on, man, please win it.
