They're going on tour?!?!? I believe Gilliam is one of the Bills core four special teamers which makes him pretty valuable. The ability to fill multiple roles actually saves roster spots. And there's no way Mike White was gonna be retained in any capacity. So you're saying he's a Jag who plays for the Jags?

Parsons traded to Green Bay, given $188 million contract

But fewer pages than the Jordan Phillips (17 pages) and Jordan Poyer (20 pages) topics that were fueled by outraged Bills fans bearing pitchforks.. -
Parsons traded to Green Bay, given $188 million contract
Sierra Foothills replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
There are plenty of knowledgable NFL observers who are fine with the Bills not going all-in on Parsons and in fact think it would have been a mistake. Those people actually seem to be the majority. I can't wait for the season to start... 20 pages of the same opinions going around like a carousel with nothing new being said... same thing over and over, pro or con. -
Bills Working Out Kickers - Bass Not Healthy?
Sierra Foothills replied to sven233's topic in The Stadium Wall
I've heard that it's hard being a holder for Tucker. -
I see that Jalen Kimber is a cornerback and Andre Jones is a defensive end. I guess Kimber makes sense in that they released Daequan Hardy. I was almost thinking they'd stash a kicker on the PS for a few weeks until the Bass situation cleared up.

Report: Micah Parsons requests a trade

Are you serious? I can't tell by your expression. -
Bills Initial Roster - No real surprises
Sierra Foothills replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
After all the backlash from the first two Jordans I'd bet he doesn't have the nerve... he didn't have the cajones to pull of a Micah Parsons deal. The dude isn't anything more than a eunuch GM at this point. -

Herschel Walker. God I wish you were the Bills GM... Big Baller Beane's a fraud! Those are interesting dots you connect. -
Bills Initial Roster - No real surprises

The rumor is that Beane was going to sign Jordan Mills and Jordan Palmer but after he saw the adverse reaction here at TSW, he decided to abandon that plan. -
Roster Changes 2024 to 2025 Player Age 2025 Age Mack Hollins 31 Joshua Palmer 25 M Valdes-Scantling 30 Elijah Moore 25 Tyrell Shavers 26 Quintin Morris 26 Jackson Hawes 24 Von Miller 36 Joey Bosa 30 Casey Toohill 29 Landon Jackson 22 Dawuane Smoot 30 TJ Sanders 22 Austin Johnson 31 Deone Walker 21 Edefuan Ulofoshio 25 Shaq Thompson 31 Nicholas Morrow 30 Baylon Spector 26 Rasul Douglas 29 Tre’Davious White 30 Kaiir Elam 24 Dorian Strong 23 Mike Edwards 29 Jordan Hancock 22 Sam Martin 35 Brad Robbins 26 Chase Lundt 25 Average Age 29.36 Average Age 25.14 To all those whining (crying?) about the Jordan Phillips and Jordan Poyer additions to the PRACTICE SQUAD, if you compare the 14 roster spots that changed from 2024 to 2025, you can see that the Bills significantly moved towards younger players with the average age of those 14 players 4.22 years younger. This means that the Bills have lots of developmental players on the active roster so they balanced that out with proven veterans on the practice squad. But even though there was a large influx of rookies and younger players, let's cry about adding veteran leadership.

We'll stay here and support the team.

A marginally interesting aspect of this for me is that it's questionable whether the Bills would even use this as bulletin board material. While teams generally pounce on the opportunity to use snubs for motivation, in this case it sends the message that individual accolades are more important than team ones... never a good message.

I think it comes down to: They knew what they had in White. They wanted to see what they had in Beuchele. Ultimately the Bills have to do what's best for the team above what's best for the individual.

Just Curious what were most surprising cuts NFL wide?
Sierra Foothills replied to Jistafan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Former 1st round fullback Booker Moore... Penn State I believe. So in your Estime-tion he wasn't nimble enough? Yes, a 2nd round pick in 2021 who is 27 years old and showed very little development. I think they liked him but said that he needed a change of scenery. Very diplomatic of them. -
You missed in the very next bullet point: "Allen, a top contender for this year's prize but absent on all of our analysts' ballots, could become just the fifth player in the Super Bowl era to pull off a repeat (joining Joe Montana, Brett Favre, Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers)." Interesting that there were 29 voters and not one single vote was cast for a Bills player.

What you guys say about turnover differential is true and there's bound to be a regression to the mean average but... since McDermott became Head Coach, the Bills lead the NFL in defensive takeaways with 252. The next closest teams are the Steelers with 240 and the Vikings with 229. The Bills will again have a positive turnover ratio and will likely be among the league leaders because McDermott has a proven track record of being able to take the ball away and Josh has really embraced protecting possession.

It doesn't matter what you want them to do. Poyer wants to be a player and they want him to be a player... they see the value in him as a player. They're not going to overpay him as a coach and have him take practice reps as a player. And they're not going to try to circumvent the salary cap with outlandish schemes.
-
The role of a veteran player is different than that of a coach. That's why there's such things as team captains and leadership committees. The Bills obviously see more value in Poyer as a player than as a coach. Poyer will make $450K at the veteran minimum assuming 18 weeks. The average position coach in the NFL makes about $150K. Poyer as a player is an insurance policy... as a coach he wouldn't be practicing and therefore wouldn't be game-ready if needed.

Below is a rough breakdown of the initial 53 man rosters from the last two years. It doesn't include Maxwell Hairston and Michael Hoecht who should both contribute significantly and are inarguably big talent upgrades to the roster. Bills Season Opening 53 Man Roster Changes 2024 2025 Mack Hollins Joshua Palmer M Valdes-Scantling Elijah Moore Tyrell Shavers Quintin Morris Jackson Hawes Von Miller Joey Bosa Casey Toohill Landon Jackson Dawuane Smoot TJ Sanders Austin Johnson Deone Walker Edefuan Ulofoshio Shaq Thompson Nicholas Morrow Baylon Spector Rasul Douglas Tre’Davious White Kaiir Elam Dorian Strong Mike Edwards Jordan Hancock Sam Martin Brad Robbins It looks to me like over the course of the season: WR: Even without the presumed improvement of Keon Coleman that the Bills WRs will be improved TE: Kincaid can only be better than last year and Hawes is an upgrade over Q. Morris D-line: Will be better than last year's, especially with Michael Hoecht returning LB: Will depend on the health of Milano and Bernard, Thompson can't be worse than Spector, et al CB: Should be better... Douglas and Elam were terrible last year. Safety: Should be better because Bishop can't be worse than Hamlin and has a good ceiling. I have high hopes for Hancock The Bills invested heavily in defense with 6 draft picks, 3 significant free agent signings, and the hiring of Senior Defensive Assistant Ryan Nielsen and Co-DL Coach Jason Rebrovich. Based solely on the roster and coaching staff (not factoring in injuries, strength of schedule and improvement of opponents) I'm certainly expecting improvement this year... especially defensively. Also with the presumed upgrade at Special Teams Coordinator (Chris Tabor over Matthew Smiley), I expect last year's 28th ranked special teams unit (Rick Gosselin Ranking) to be improved.

BTW, there's a sequel to "This is Spinal Tap" coming out soon... "Spinal Tap II" (the roman numeral 2 appears as Stonehenge stones).

Even after the certainty that he was headed for the practice squad there was still plenty of unhappiness about his return. Strangely enough, this topic appears to be a Jordan-safe Zone. Yes Hamler doesn't give the Bills anything that Samuel and Moore doesn't already give them. Ralph is cheap! Agreed. In the majority of cases the talent is indistinguishable and teams feel more comfortable retaining players that are familiar known quantities and that have already been in the playbook.

Yeah, but the Head of Facilities and Maintenance at Bank of America stadium is the same guy who was there when McBeane were. Pretty sure that's at the root of this blatant nepotism. What's incredible is that while some people here say it for comedic value, many actually believe that it's a problem.

Next time you see Jimmy Spagnuolo in the yard, tell him we said "Hi!"
