  1. Would you settle for making a small bet?
  2. The dream has come to an end... https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/jets-claim-dl-phidarian-mathis-off-waivers
  3. Funny stuff. The one fair thing to say about Cousins wearing his helmet is that he was keeping track of the play calls, which is what you'd want him to do under the circumstances.
  4. Yes. Josh's streak is 110 consecutive starts... 12th most in NFL history. The question in my mind is whether he's going to play one series or one quarter. What's the NFL record for most safeties (the scoring play, not the position) in a game? Bills by position group (alphabetically, + practice squad, not including specialists): Centers (2+1) CBs (5+2) DEs (4+2) DTs (6+1) FB (1+0) G (2+1) LBs (6+0) QBs (2+1) RBs (3+1) S (4+3) OTs (5+1) TEs (3+1) WRs (5+3) The following players would be candidates to be elevated: Will (Mc)Clapp, Frank Gore, Mike White, Zach Davidson, Casey Toohill, Shavers and/or Hamler, and possibly Kareem Jackson, Micah Hyde, or Lewis Cine.
  5. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/jerod-mayo-on-sitting-drake-maye-in-week-18-everything-under-consideration "The Patriots have seen enough to know that Drake Maye is their quarterback for the foreseeable future, but he may not be their quarterback for the final game of the 2024 season. Head coach Jerod Mayo said at a Monday press conference, via a transcript from the team, that “everything is in consideration” when asked if the team has given any thought to sitting Maye against the Bills in Week 18. Maye was briefly knocked out of Saturday’s loss to the Chargers to be evaluated for a head injury and avoiding any chance of injury that impacted his preparation for the 2025 season would be reason for New England to sit him out." A loss to the Bills would guarantee them the first pick in the upcoming draft.
  6. I think safety in the McDefense is a little bit different than it is in other defenses... a steeper and longer learning curve. I retain high hopes and optimism for Bishop... (but I still do for Elam too so there's that).
  7. Particularly with all of the picks the Bills have, they'll draft at least one. I'm surprised there wasn't the usual avalanche of responses to this post. I agree. I understand Taron is an important and valued part of the team and that he has a contract commensurate with his value. That said, he isn't getting any bigger and he's not getting any younger. It seems to me that the Bills should be segueing into reducing his snap counts a bit. Taron is a total team player and as long as he's getting paid, I can't imagine him making an issue of playing time when it might actually extend his career. Yes he's married but please refrain from any talk about his personal life. You do not talk about Matt Milano. I must be losing my sense of humor... I don't get it.... You forgot to use the word "process."
  8. Yet another vendetta-driven, out of the blue, "I told you so" post by @BADOLBILZ... At the risk of being a hypocrite, didn't your parents teach you any manners?
  9. I see some here want to withhold a more durable judgement until the playoffs. That's a valid position but I would point out that minimally, the games against Kansas City, Detroit, and the Rams all had playoff magnitude.
  10. It boils down to how much credit you want to give Joe Hines-Brady and how much you want to give Josh. In light of the data, it's unfair to not give Hines-Brady high marks. Even if you want to give more credit to Josh than to Hines-Brady, you have to ask yourself: Why is Josh playing so well, especially compared to how he was playing under Dorsey? Give credit where it's due.
  11. To the bolded, it's been mentioned in passing (pardon the pun) but only incidentally so here goes: Josh has a consecutive games started streak of 110 games... 120 if you count playoffs. Either way this is 12th longest streak in the history of the NFL. Yesterday Josh said the streak is important to him. But then he hopped into the stands, thereby jeopardizing his good health. It was also important that Josh had an excellent game with another unforgettably great play, therefore not conceding the MVP to Lamar... which would have been the case had he not played so well. As we all know, the difference between success and failure is often one-tenth of a second or sometimes even less. That's why a defense can play lights out one week and very poorly the next. The physical fits and timing of the entire unit is critical for success. I thought Rodgers handled the question well. At some point yesterday (and for the first time ever) I almost started feeling sorry for him... but then I remembered that he's made over $380 million from football, not including other income streams related to his celebrity.
  12. To the bolded... I agree a QB shouldn't show up his WRs by publicly gesturing to them in a corrective way. Actually no player should do that to a teammate. That's what the huddle/sidelines/dressing room/meeting rooms are for. As for your talent assessment of the Jets, not a fan of Quincy Williams?
  13. The QB Class of 2024 is looking awesome but the other story is the QB Class of 2018 which was viewed as potentially the greatest class ever at that time. Lamar and Josh are established superstars and Mayfield and Darnold have resurrected their careers to where they're now considered franchise QBs. I can't imagine what goes through the mind of Josh Rosen these days.
  14. 1) I don't care what the "vast majority sees." 2) Me consistently disagreeing with you does not mean I'm making it a big issue. In fact I called it a "violation of etiquette" and an act of "immaturity." That's not making it a big issue. The reason this topic has reached this many pages is because people are arguing against those with different opinions... I'm not going to change my opinion because people want to argue with me. So for the greater good, you can have the last word. I don't care to repeat myself again.
  15. You'd be mistaken if you thought I cared if I was in the minority of anything. I'm not cowed by the opinions of others. Your first sentence, yes Josh isn't oblivious which is why Coleman's gesture was self-serving. Your second sentence, I didn't say you can't give feedback. I said what Coleman did was unnecessary. We can go back to talking about the quietly improving WR corps or the inability of our defense to stop the run if you'd like. I actually find this to be an interesting conversation. So you're making my case for me. I've said numerously that gesturing on TV in front of everyone is NOT the way you communicate that it was an imperfect throw. They talked about it in the huddle. That's how it should have been handled in the first place.
  16. You can... if you think it's really important for you to state the obvious in front of the entire stadium and viewership.
  17. I think the broadcast showed that with a loss, Atlanta has a 15% chance of making the playoffs.
  18. I judge things on a case by case basis. But if I wanted my QB to throw the ball higher, I wouldn't be gesturing to him from a distance. But again, what was there to communicate? Nothing. Josh knew he missed the throw.
  19. I'm trying to remember if I've ever seen a better game pitting two rookie QBs. What a great showcase for the league.
  20. I'll agree to disagree. Coleman wasn't communicating anything because Josh already knew what had happened. Coleman was essentially saying "it's not my fault I didn't catch the ball."
  21. As a sports fan there are few things more exciting than having a talented rookie QB showing flashes of greatness.
  22. Even though it was a big loss, Penix did an excellent job of damage control (after letting the snap go over his head). WOW Dude just drips with talent. The potential is on full display.
  23. And Browns fans watching Baker light it up for 359 yards and 5 TDs today. That would be the great clincher for the MVP... Josh setting an NFL team record. Those are called McTOs. That's very disrespectful of Josh towards Keon.
  24. Six QBs taken in this draft. The only one we haven't seen yet is JJ McCarthy. The other 5 all have shown excellent potential... 2024 could very well go down in history as the best QB draft ever.
