  1. I don't know if it's intentional or not but you're changing the debate. What has been discussed from the beginning is your assertion that Brees is a system QB. I'm done. The last word is yours.
  2. From The Athletic (Buscaglia) on Spencer Brown: "Between off days, non-padded sessions and preseason games, Brown had only six practices since getting cleared for 11-on-11. On the other hand, Quessenberry hasn’t missed a practice this summer. If anything, they likely view the Broncos game as an important step in Brown’s return. The second-year right tackle played 14 snaps in the second quarter, half of one drive and all of the other, before rookie Luke Tenuta took his place with the rest of the second-team offensive line. As long as Brown continues on this trajectory, it seems like it’s only a matter of time before he ascends to the starting five."
  3. I can selectively choose excerpts from the article and play semantic games too but I won't.
  4. Wrong. https://www.sportscasting.com/remembering-when-nick-sabans-miami-dolphins-chose-daunte-culpepper-over-drew-brees/
  5. After a little research here are the preseason trades Beane has made as Bills GM (surplus trade aways in bold): July 26, 2017: Traded quarterback Cardale Jones to the San Diego Chargers for a 2018 conditional seventh-round pick. Aug. 11, 2017: Acquired CB E.J. Gaines and a 2018 second-round pick (later traded to Tampa Bay Buccaneers) from the Los Angeles Rams for WR Sammy Watkins and a 2018 sixth-round pick. Aug. 11, 2017: Acquired WR Jordan Matthews and a 2018 third-round pick from the Philadelphia Eagles (No. 96, used to select Harrison Phillips) for CB Ronald Darby. Aug. 28, 2017: Traded LB Reggie Ragland to the Kansas City Chiefs for a 2019 fourth-round pick. Sept. 2, 2017: Acquired WR Kealin Clay and a 2019 seventh-round pick from the Carolina Panthers for CB Kevon Seymour. Aug. 5, 2018: Acquired WR Corey Coleman from the Cleveland Browns for a 2020 seventh-round draft pick. Sept. 1, 2018: Traded QB AJ McCarron to the Oakland Raiders for a 2019 fifth-round draft pick. Sept. 25, 2018: Traded T Marshall Newhouse to the Carolina Panthers for a 2021 conditional seventh-round draft pick. Aug. 29, 2019: Traded OL Wyatt Teller and a seventh-round pick to the Cleveland Browns for a fifth-round pick (used later in the Stefon Diggs trade) and a sixth-round pick (No. 188, used to select K Tyler Bass). Aug. 30, 2019: Traded OL Russell Bodine to the New England Patriots for a sixth-round pick. Aug. 30, 2021 Traded DE Darryl Johnson to the Carolina Panthers for a sixth-round pick. Between Beane's history and the current roster depth it seems that up to 2 trade aways are possible and that 1 is likely.
  6. Makes me wonder what the old Adelphia boys are doing these days.
  7. It's hard not to be impressed with that. The only thing that will keep Cook inactive on game day is if the team thinks he's still a liability in pass protection.
  8. I'm surprised all you guys are referring to Spectrum as Spectrum in spite of the anger and frustration. Quite impressive.
  9. 23,24,25,39,40,21,67,23,53,44,82,46,37,37 If he does it for more than 12, they'll have to bring him to the Blue Medical Tent. The thing that Cook brings to the Bills is home run ability, which the team is sorely lacking in. During his 3 years in college Cook had gains of 23, 24 ,25 ,39 ,40 ,21 ,67 ,23 ,53 ,44 ,82 ,46 ,37 and 37 yards in 248 touches. Chunk yardage, especially in the run game is a rare and valued commodity.
  10. The others are thinking in terms of Tiddlywinks while you're operating from the perspective of 3D chess. Maybe it would be easier if you made your points using simple mathematical theorems? Just a thought.
  11. Served with a fudge brownie topped with a light dusting of crystal meth... kinda like confectioner's sugar.
  12. I forgot about IeatCrayonz! Wasn't the theory that he was the predecessor to 4merper4mer?
  13. I thought the above graphic from yesterday's game was illuminating. Regarding Benford, he excelled/dominated at his previous level of competition: "Benford played in nine games with eight starts as a true freshman and was named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Defensive Rookie of the Year and third team All-CAA after making 49 tackles with six pass breakups and five interceptions. He played in ten games with seven starts as a sophomore and broke up five passes with one interception. Benford was named first team All-CAA in his junior season, which was shortened and played in the spring of 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States. As a senior, Benford recorded 39 tackles with seven interceptions and an NCAA Division I FCS-leading 18 passes broken up and was again named first team All-CAA."
  14. It's called confirmation bias. My biggest pet peeve is the majority of people here who reply to a post on page 2 instead of reading the entire 5 page thread before then replying. It's more than likely that someone has already made the point you were too impatient to wait on so you're only adding to the clutter of unnecessary replies within the topic. While we're asking questions about usernames, what was your reaction when Rutger Hauer passed away?
  15. Does 4merperf4mer still make appearances? Jimmy Spagnuolo?
  16. Here's an article on the biggest trend in sports concessions in decades... a shift away from the monopolized predatory price-gouging that had become the norm. Fan-friendly pricing: https://www.yahoo.com/now/cheap-beer-good-press-falcons-fan-friendly-pricing-win-win-191626117.html
  17. What Howard showed yesterday was a big body that was an effective blocker and a big target in the red zone. The Bills will likely use him in goal-line and short yardage situations.
  18. Remember the days when the smoking and non-smoking sections in restaurants was often an imaginary line? Back then being in "non-smoking" didn't mean that you weren't going to breathe cigarette smoke.
  19. Wow, 70 cents for a pack of cigarettes? As my buddy says, "They're so cheap you can't afford not to smoke em." To the subject, I believe the original concessions contract went to Delaware North Sportservice. 🤢 Yes it's pricier now but the world of sports concessions is much better than it was then. Most new facilities have a wide array of options and don't award the entire contract to a mediocre monopoly like they did back when the stadium opened.
  20. Yes the writing is generally excellent and The Athletic employs many of the writers who became unemployed during the now decades-long contraction of the newspaper business. It's been a landing spot for many who were priced out of their previous jobs due to career longevity... and replaced which cheaper and poorer writers (I won't mention any names).
  21. Asking Josh about his golf game during a sideline interview left me speechless. Of course Josh being Josh, he let her off the hook.
  22. It looks like OJ Howard is a pretty good blocker too. I'd be happy if he's traded or if he stays. In McBeane I trust.
  23. I can't vouch for their customer service but I appreciate all the great writing and coverage they offer. I follow several sports teams so The Athletic is worth it for me though. It was sad when they took Matthew Fairburn off the Bills beat though they still have Joe Buscaglia and Tim Graham contributing.
  24. I agree about the Athletic. I love Ford's response... restraint is an undervalued commodity in our world. The Athletic is definitely more for people who like to read than to watch talking heads.
