  1. I agree with this...lots of folks worry about CIN, but present Bills team aside, they really do have the worst defense in football. However, lots of folks picking a win vs CLE...Myles Garrett been a one man wrecking crew...after last night, hope Allen's health insurance is all paid up..
  2. Haven't done a deep dive scouting report on the Texans other than a very stout defense and really good edge rushers. So my question for someone who has done some research is how is their edge against the rush? Sometimes, to be a good pass rushers you have to be long and lean, but that body type isn't necessarily good against a large drive blocking offensive tackle on running plays. I keep thinking of the Bills prime time game a couple of years ago when they faced the great Cowboy defense and Parsons and just ran all over them for the same reason...Allen hardly threw at all. If that were the case, the real key is to play from the lead and not to have to play catch up.
  3. As far as the run defense...think it always goes to the defensive tackles. If you look at the history of the best run stuffing LBs in the history of the Bills and the NFL, they probably had a dominant DT in front of them. Even if the Tackles weren't making the play themselves, they were occupying a double team that meant less pressure on the linebackers behind them. Fridge Perry - Mike Singletary Siragusa/Sam Adams - Ray Lewis Bills just don't have THAT guy at the position since Kyle William
  4. Watching the Chiefs, they seem to be a bit out of sync. As wide receivers, Rice, Brown and Worthy barely combind for over 100 yards. Thornton had the big 61 yard catch, only because he pushed off. Kelsey was the leading pass catcher today, but hes not a real downfield threat at this stage. Anything is possible the rest of the season..the Chiefs COULD run the table. However, if they lose to the Colts next week, Ive got to think they are done.
  5. For those of you hoping for the team to open up its passing game today...especially the deep ball...its a very blustery morning in Orchard Park, and only supposed to get a little more windy as the day goes on.
  6. 17 pages of wishful thinking...sorry to be a wet blanket, but for those of you who aren't familiar with the owner, Terry Pegula, he also owns the Buffalo Sabres hockey team. They've had the same GM, who is a likeable guy, who's team hasn't even had a whiff of the playoffs in the 6 years he's been in that position....and hes still around (so far)... So what do you think the chances are of the same owner firing his GM and/or coach who has won their division each of the last six years?? ...This could be a while....
  7. Of course you are all forgetting my Alma mater and WNY football powerhouse the Red Raiders of St Francis!!...Home of Brian Daboll....okay...hes the first name that came to mind....
  8. By my count, thats 8 players on the defensive side of the ball on the injury report this week to go along with the other 9 defensive players placed on IR since the start of training camp...not including people that are banged up but not showing up on the list...thats about as bad as I can remember.
  9. The newest iteration for me is Pacheco. It's like he watched game film of Tyreek Hill on how to be a Chiefs-chump. But just the thing I can't stand about watching the Chiefs on TV is the Spagnuolo cam... It's like the networks have multiple cameras trained on him during the game to see his reaction after every defensive stop..and by the way..he is the most ingenious..cleverest...most innovative defensive coordinator EVER!!!... as the camera gets another shot of him...
  10. Not sure what the big deal is, Richard Kiel played just fine with only one arm in the original The Longest Yard...
  11. Somewhere buried in one of these threads is the comment, that I heard as well, from some caller on talk radio who claims to have met Hairstons family at a Bills game weeks ago who said his target to return was week 10.....FWIW...if this were true, a couple more weeks before he is activated.
  12. Global internet issues right now affecting connectivity across a number of applications
  13. Don't think so...in 1st scenario, spot foul puts the ball at Chiefs 20 yard line..in 2nd scenario, offsetting penalties, replay the down at original line..Bills have the ball at their OWN 20 yard line.
  14. Hold was a spot foul downfield..penalty is assessed from the spot of the foul...10 yd penalty from spot of the foul
  15. Okay..follow this one, for example: Bills have the ball on their own 20 yard line. Cook breaks free and is running down the sidelines. Shakir is flagged for holding just before Cook enters the end zone at the Chiefs 10 yard line. It's a spot foul, 10 yard penalty from spot of the foul, Bills ball at Chiefs 20 ...first down. Same exact scenario, except as Cook enters the end zone, a Chiefs defender grabs his face mask generating a second flag...offsetting penalties...replay the down back at the Bills 20 yard line. By the Chiefs committing a foul, it actually worked out to their advantage...do I have that right?..or is there a rule covering this I dont know about?
  16. I think you can blame the offense's issues on a number of sources. Although he hasn't said much and overall the protection has been good this season, I think Allen has taken some pretty big hits already this year. In the Atlanta game, the Falcons blitzed on like 79% of drop backs..and ridiculously huge number. I blame the coaching staff for not coming up with enough plays to slow down the blitz rate (and/or players weren't getting open on hot reads) If you combined a quarterback who wasn't comfortable with the play selection because it wasn't producing results, yet led to a lot of free rushers and hits, it leads to a lot of bad QB decisions and throws.
  17. I usually reserve judgement on Brady when there is a lack of execution, but he takes some serious blame for this loss. EVEYONE knew the Falcons were a blitz happy team, yet the offense looked totally lost out there when Atlanta blitzed. It seemed like Allen had a blitzer in his face most of the game, and nowhere to go with the ball
  18. For those of you who track such things, ATL is averaging 15.7 yds per rush.
  19. Just came across these tidbits this afternoon: Josh Allen has 12 TD passes vs the blitz this year..the highest in the NFL..since 2022, he is the highest rated quarterback vs the blitz. So far this season, the team with the highest blitz rate??...Atlanta Side note...the collective records of the 4 teams the Bills have beaten is now 3-21.
  20. In the Mahommes era, the Chiefs now hold the NFL record for the times the words "Kansas City" and "Missed Call" were used by commentators in the same sentance...by a wide margin
  21. They actually held Maye in check for the most part in the 1st half...he went like 9/16....then went 13/14 in the second half... Not one pass breakup or contested catch for Pats receivers in the second half. Forget about anyone being even close to an interception... White is a definite liability out there, and safties are slow to recognize and close on the ball...not sure how you fix this with the personnel they have
  22. Why is this game important?.. If the Bills win, especially convincingly, they probably cuise to the AFC East title again, and are the favorites for the #1 seed and 1st round bye. If they lose, they would only have a 1 game lead over the Pats(who would then have the tie-breaker) and probably be nipping at their heels the rest of the season. Because of all of the above, I would fully expect an all out playoff type effort by the coaching staff, Allen, and the rest of the team Sunday night..they know how important this game is, too.
  23. In the last 2 minutes, Maye drives the Pats down the field against the Bills prevent defense going 3 for 3 on 4th and long and the go ahead TD to Diggs. Allen masterfully puts the Bills in position for the game winning 60 yard FG attempt which sails wide right as time expires..HOWEVER..the Pats are flagged with a roughing-the-holder penalty (injuring yet another punter) Trubisky comes in as backup holder, and from 15 yards closer, the kick is good.. Bills win 31-30
  24. Bills players grades from Saints game. With the exception of Cook, wondering if these guys were watching the same game I was..some are almost laughable... Comments??
