  1. Let me start by saying I really am a Bills fan, but can't realistically see them making a deep run into the playoffs. They should beat a Tua-Less Dolphins, but all bets or off after that. They really have played valiantly in the last half of the season, but its obvious injuries have caught up with them. Breaking it down: Defensive Line: Von Miller..Almost starts and ends right here. Bills signed him to big contract because he was the piece they were missing last year..and he's missing again. Phillips and Oliver...probably your two best interior linemen playing seriously hurt. Wouldnt be surprised if both already have their post season surgey appointments made with UB Orthopaedic. Rousseau...brightest hope on the line now, but has he really dominated anyone this season? Think of all those 3rd and longs that were converted because on the known passing down, nobody could get to the QB. Basham, Epinesa, Lawson...show flashes, but inconsistant, especially in the pass rush. Linebackers: Edmunds and Milano (and Johnson) Probably the brightest spot on the defense this year. Great game by Johnson. Milano still playing well, but to my eyes playing with a nagging injury slowing him as well. Secondary: Poyer: What a gamer...bad wing and torn meniscus, and he's still out there..but despite his effort, not where he was last year. Hyde...out....Hamelin...recovering...down to 3rd string at safety...that guy you see in the last playoff game in the 4th quarter... White..recovering, but still missing a step..VERY fast receivers in the playoffs Benford..still out with injury..Elam..to early to call him a bust, but certainly a disappointment for a 1st round pick (see Sauce Gardner) In summary, dont see this patchwork lineup being very dominating going into the playoffs..last years defense at this point was probably better that this years version..and the offense hasnt shown the consistancy to be able the throw up 35 to 40 points I think will be required to win those games.
  2. Okay..lets try again..and this time I wont use such big words and make it simple for you... You were spring loaded into making a post jumping on someone using cutesy words like "karen-y" all while not understanding or caring what you are reading...just to try to make a point. In my original post, I was remarking how the media was fawning over Burrow, and in subsequent paragraphs showed how his talent level doesnt rise to the level of MAHOMMES or Allen..you are disputing this, or is your visual acuity as poor as your reading comprehension?? This was never a love letter about Allen..which is obvious, but you cant see that...grow up and practice reading before you post..(wah)
  3. Fragile??..You don't have a clue, pal...and your reading comprehension is suspect as well. The gist of my post was to point out how the media is in love with Burrow without any in depth analysis of the factors behind his success..only using Mahommes and Allen as examples, and not a love letter. Maybe you should think twice before you post so critically without having any idea what you are talking about.
  4. Is it just me, or is anybody else tired of hearing how Burrow is on par with Allen or Mahommes? Granted, his numbers are as good as Mahommes or Allen, but I dont think he's near the quarterback. He is a VERY accurate passer and good decision maker, but lets not forget he throws to three very good receivers..who usually are wide open are going up and grabbing a contested throws..many yards after the catch. All the highlights I see of Burrow, he always seems to be throwing from a clean pocket with very little pressure--almost like he playing catch. I think I read he is the 4th least pressured quarterback in the league. Does anybody really think he is going to make that Mahommes run around for 35 yards and flip it upside down behind his back for the completion...or the Allen running to his right being chased leaping, and as he is going out of bounds throwing it across his body halfway across the field??..I think not!!.. That being said, can the Bills front four put enough pressure on him to make him feel uncomfortable?..really wish Von Miller were around....
  5. Disagree a bit..Burrow is an excellent, accurate thrower and elusive in the pocket, but not nearly the running threat that Mahommes or Allen are. Just a bit less of a headace for the DC. If I'm not mistaken, he has seen much less pressure in the pocket than Mahommes or Allen in recent weeks with multiple talented WRs.
  6. For those paying attention, I wouldnt worry about Josh Allen's elbow and throwing the ball anywhere if the weather forecast materializes. High temperature will be around 8 degrees and winds gusting over 50 miles an hour. Even with a healthy elbow thats way more wind than he can throw in. Makes me wonder if the Bills field a true 4-3 defense as Fields is probably even less likely to throw the ball.
  7. IIRC, last time he had a concussion, he went outside the area to consult a neuro-doc for advice. I think thats one of the reasons he was inactive the next week. Even if cleared by the NFL, I would assume another consult is inevitable. His decision if and when to return will probably be based on that.
  8. In previous seasons, when teams tried playing this soft cover 2 zone against the Bills, the answer had always been the slot receiver Beasley finding the soft spots and seams. In fact, I think those were some of his biggest games. Whackadoodle or not, the Bills miss that kind of guy in the lineup. I think they were hoping the answer was Crowder with Shakir learning from the sidelines...but thats just not an option right now..and it shows.
  9. Interesting stats: NE All-World Judon -- 3 Tackles 2 Solo 0 Sacks BUF Edmunds -- 6 Tackles 5 Solo 0 Sacks
  10. Al was my line coach when I played foodtball for St Francis in the late 70s. Had a little bit of a limp due to his playing injuries, but always remember him being a very nice guy. When we were working the blocking sled his favorite line always used to be "can of corn, can of corn!!"......
  11. In terms of rest, I was referring to even IF they do get out of the airport, by the time the round everyone up, it may not be until very late tonight or early tomorrow before they fly out.
  12. I live in Orchard Park and the current storm has made the town a mess. We have, in my neighborhood, a little over 4 feet of snow with many roads impassable. For now, it has stopped snowing, but as many of the players live in my area, I'm curious how they are going to get them all to the airport as planned this afternoon. That heavy snow has moved up to the airport area now, and with heavy snow and 1/4 mile visibilty, it is pretty much unusable. If things get delayed considerably, what kind of pre game rest will they have? I'll be curious to see how the NFL and Buffalo Bills handle this. Cant delay the game as they play again on Thanksgiving. Cant make them forfeit as you moved the game out of town.
  13. So, pretty much all of your starting DBs from start of the season are out...your AllPro corner still hasnt returned, your #1 pick is out, and your starting LB doesnt play in the second half. It was like the second half of a pre-season game with all the backups and it showed. Despite being "in position", you saw very few pass breakups by theses DBs today...and THATS why they are backups..
  14. I though I saw a stat at the end of the game last night, but haven't seen since that said Allen faced pressures on 43%(?) of dropbacks for this game..the highest of the seaon. My recollection is Allen was rarely throwing from a clean pocket in the 2nd half.
  15. Dont forget that Chuck Norris provided the deciding vote that let the Average Joes compete in the finals of the American Dodgeball Association of America's final match
  16. I think I read somewhere from somebody who tracks such things that Allen's TD throw to Diggs was the fastest ever recorded running quarterback where the completion went xx yards downfield. It was almost all arm that chucked it 50 yds because he never really set. Some other analyst who diagrammed the the play said most quarterbacks would have been happy just trying for the underneath receiver. To say the throw to Diggs was underthrown shows a complete ignorance of the game by the author of the article. Somebody should take away his keyboard.
  17. My dad had season tickest the first couple of seasons at Rich Stadium, and my memory may be off after fifty years, but I seem to remember end zone seats being $5.50, Club Level $7.00, Upper Deck $8.50, and the red seats protected from the overhang $13.00...so I guess the concessions prices are all relative.
  18. Maybe not a huge poster, but a huge Bills fan. My dad took me to my first game at the rock pile in 1970, as well as the very first game ever at Rich Stadium. To clarify my point, I think the Bills to have the best talent across the board in the AFC this season..but there isn’t a big gap between us and everybody else..especially the Chargers. The best thing the Bills have going for them is a weak division, and the prospect for playing their playoff games at home.
  19. So there has been a lot of hype around the Bills and their prospects for a great season based on the talent on the roster. But how much separation is their between the Bills and other favorites in the conference at the skill positions? QB - Herbert may not have the dual threat capabilities that Allen has, but some would argue he’s a better passer. WRs - Yes, the Bills have Diggs and Davis, but the Chargers have Allen and Williams, who some people think is the best receiving tandem in the NFL. Shutdown Corner - Well, when he’s 100%, the Bills have White, but the Chargers made a big splash in free agency with J.C. Jackson. Safeties - Hyde and Poyer?….They have All-Pro Derwin James. Big Veteran Disruptive Pass Rusher in Free Agency?…Sure, we picked up a great one in Von Miller…but don’t forget the Chargers signed Khalil Mack….oh, and that other guy already on the lineup named Joey Bosa. And all this there is still D Tackle Sebastian Joseph Day they got from the Rams. If nothing else, these rosters were built very similarly, but not that sure we are THAT much better, especially if the injury bug hits.
  20. I think it’s real hard to put out and definitives at this stage of the off season. Probably more questions than answers. We should see a better pass rush than last year. They may be a mismatch nightmare especially with Knox and a renewed OJ Howard + the original compliment of wide receivers. But the questions, that I don’t think anyone can answer, include: 1.) Love him or hate him for the outbursts, but Beasley was a great outlet receiver, and excellent at finding the soft holes in a zone defense. Will Crowder develop a similar chemistry with Josh Allen? 2.) How good will the interior of the line be? Looks like the Bills will be missing 2 starters from the interior of the line. It was playing very well and the end of the season. Remember earlier in the season when Allen seemed to be running for his life on every drop back, and the RBs were getting hit in the backfield? Most people wanted to run Ford out of town, and now he may be penciled in as the starter again. 3.) BOTH previous starting cornerbacks may not be there on opening day. Who knows what the recovery time for White might be, and at what level he can play at when he returns. Even if current players on the roster can fill in, what kind of depth to you have at that position for nickel and dime defenses (not to mention injuries) 4.) Any of the rumors about Diggs being unhappy true? Could affect his performance and the atmosphere in the locker. We may not get they answers to a lot of these question until the clock shows zeros on the first game. But we certainly won’t know here at the end of March.
  21. …And I failed to even include the most obvious, Aaron Donald..
  22. Agreed…other teams have that guy on defense you have to plan around…a disrupter that can at the very least blow up some plays on a consistent basis, or even take over a game. The Watt brothers, Bosa brothers, Mack (when healthy) Von Miller or Ray Lewis in his prime are all examples. Even from Bills history we have Schobel, Phil Hansen, and of course Bennett and Bruce Smith. There is a reason no one went to the pro bowl this year other than White…we don’t have “that guy”… free agency and recent drafts have shown that……….but we could use him.
  23. Interesting comment by McD during presser...when asked a question about a squib kick, he mentioned execution vs the special teams play call...did Bass just kick it too deep instead of popping up the kickoff??
  24. I dont know how in the world you give Kelsey a free release on that last play...I would have doubled him and Hill and rushed 3...coupled with a real kickoff its game over.
