Network pricing to watch all NFL games in 2025
Einstein replied to Gregg's topic in The Stadium Wall
Where’s the line, though? Walmart made over $600 billion last year—should we all just fill our carts and walk out because they’ve “made enough”? Well, if everyone did that, the business would collapse. That’s the problem with justifying theft based on company profits - It literally relies on others doing the right thing so that you can do the wrong thing. The logic is: “I don’t have to pay because enough others already did.” That only works if a critical mass doesn’t think like you. It's freeloading, plain and simple. Simon’s point about collusion and lack of competition is more compelling - but even that doesn’t justify piracy in my opinion. It might justify regulatory pressure, not theft. PS to all who responded to my original post: I'm not ignoring you - I just don't want to clutter this thread with replies. The reply above synthesizes what I would have said in each anyway. -

I will never understand people advocating illegal streams. For some reason, it being media makes it pallatable for people to say things like like this. But most of us would never say “oh that restaurant meal was expensive - but there are ways to skip out the door before paying without the waitress knowing”. Why not just straight up say “i’m a thief”?- 201 replies

You think so? Hmm. I see a future where AI programs itself in the not so distant future.

Stadium Construction Discussion (No PSL/Seat selection posts)
Einstein replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall
There is absolutely no way you can look at the two stadiums and say with a straight face that there is not a large difference. One looks like it was built in 2010 and the other looks like it was built in 2025. Then there is the Browns new stadium - which is the ugliest stadium I think i’ve ever seen. But it does at least look like it is being built this decade. Boy is it hideous though. -
STEM with a physical component (ie: physician, dentist, etc). STEM that just looks at microscopes all day will eventually be absorbed by AI as well. Same with computer science. Even worse even. I see computer science majors at our University and feel bad for them.

Personally I think it looks dated right now. Look at what the Browns and Titans are building at the same exact time. -
That's a good point.

So what? They are ranking the top LB's overall. They are not ranking the top LB's who played a full season last year. For example: Would a 2009 ranking of QB's not include Tom Brady because he missed the previous season? Of course not. He would be top 3, because he is greatness and we didn't need to see his most recent season to know that. If this thread proves anything its that the majority of NFL fans don't pay close attention to the rest of the NFL and its players. Not having *our* guy on the list doesn't make the list crap. Why WOULD Bernard and Milano be on the list? Milano was quite frankly not great last season (I dont blame him - he was coming off of two injuries). And Bernard looked half of what he was in 2023. I dont see what there is to complain about here.

Who was invited to Josh and Hailee's wedding?

“Steinfeld? I thought this was a Seinfeld wedding!” -
I would take this deal instantly.

Who was invited to Josh and Hailee's wedding?
Einstein replied to Willie West's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah I'm shocked by the amount of people claiming to have been to all these open-bar weddings in the 70's. It was quite rare back then (in my neck of the woods anyway) and people would almost brag about it had they been to one. Especially considering that the average cost of a wedding back then was only $2k. I just did a little research and found a post by a bartender who did weddings in the 70's - he said the open bar was around $600 for 2 hours. So the open bar would have been about 30% of the total wedding cost. Long story short, maybe the others in this thread have very affluent friends. Or maybe you and I just grew up around very poor people 🤣 -

Maybe im wrong. Or maybe its regional? Im honestly not sure. My understanding was that open bar is a (relatively) new phenomenon. Most people I knew back in the day could not afford open bar, and also it was frowned upon because religion had a much stronger grip on society. I looked it up and as of last year, only 62% of weddings had an open bar. -

Same! Large italian family and my papa owned one of the first liquor stores in a suburb of Buffalo. Wine was an every day thing. But yeah, open bar is a relatively new thing. It started becoming popular in the late 80's and early 90's. Before that, the vast majority of weddings were cash bar -

You must be young! Weddings without an open bar (cash bar) were the *norm* until about 25 or so years ago. Having an open bar in the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's was quite rare. Of course, weddings were not the extravaganza that they have become today. But even today, only about 60% of weddings have an open bar. -

I kinda assumed the whole team would be there. -
Law is another that I fear for. Depositions that take young lawyers all day can be written in 3 minutes by AI. Including deep research into past cases!

When making more than $60 million per year, it’s hard for anyone to have a bad week. Still, last week was not ideal for Commissioner Roger Goodell. "In a conversation with John Ourand of Puck, ESPN.com’s Seth Wickersham said that an extension will happen — but that owners want Goodell to focus on a succession plan. 'Owners would like to have a better sense of the bench,' Wickersham told Ourand. The problem is that there isn’t much of a bench. And, frankly, there’s been a trend in recent years that, once an in-house name emerges as a potentially viable candidate to become the next commissioner, the person ends up not sticking around much longer. From Dean Blandino to Chris Halpin to Tod Leiweke to Maryann Turcke, they came, they saw, and they were gone long before they could conquer." https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/succession-plan-hovers-over-roger-goodells-contract-situation

Einstein replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall
I genuinely dont understand how billion dollar projects with very intelligent engineers do not foresee these problems. Its part of the reason why im skeptical when people assume that the Bills stadium engineers have thought of some of the potential issues we bring up. -
This may come down to a difference of how people define the phrase "cheap shot". I've always thought of a cheap shot as an intent to injure - or, at least not caring if the other player was injured. I don't think Poyer was intending to injure.

We are headed rapidly toward a universal basic income out of necessity. With so many laid off, and literally no need for their particular knowledge, they will have little to no value in the job market. I dont know how that is resolved outside of a UBI.
