  1. The Chan Gailey Bills beat the Patriots in the prime of their dynasty. Does that mean anything in the larger picture of that season?
  2. Yeah, exactly. And as I said before, I don’t hold anything against McD for 2017. He did a fine job. I just don’t give him huge kudos for going 9-7 against an absolutely awful schedule and falling ass-backward into the playoffs.
  3. You and I have had this conversation before. We disagree greatly. You value the players on that team wayyyyy more than I do And that’s ignoring the fact that McD is the reason those players were gone in the first place.
  4. Call it whatever you want, he still missed the playoffs with the same exact record that McDermott made the playoffs.
  5. I agree. And that is part of the reason why I have been a staunch supporter of keeping McD. It’s also why I stated (in the post you quoted) that my argument is not against McD, but rather against the argument that 2017 proves anything. Marrone and Mularkey both led us to 9-7 records - they just weren’t lucky enough to do so in a year where 9-7 meant a playoff berth. From another perspective: Rex Ryan went 8-8 with the same roster that McD went 9-7.
  6. I remember. I remember going to the playoffs with the same record that we missed out on the playoffs twice during the drought. I remember only having that record because we played the easiest schedule ever, facing Josh McCown, David Fales, Trevor Siemian, Jameis Winston, Jacoby Brissett, Derek Carr, Alex Smith, Matt Ryan, and Jay Cutler. I remember needing Andy Dalton to save us. This is nothing against McD… just saying that year proves nothing imo.
  7. Seriously? If you're being honest, thats impressive. I practically stopped most hard physical effort after the age of 35 when body parts started to hurt. Maybe I should start again.
  8. The Watson signing was the focal point I think. Bidwell, the Cardinals owner, was quoted in the ruling as saying "Cleveland really screwed things up". More context to that quote... Spanos, the Chargers owner, told Bidwell "Your deal (with Murray) helps us for our QB next year.” To which Bidwell responded “I think many teams will be happy with it once they have a chance to review." (along with the Cleveland comment)
  9. The more interesting story, in my opinion, was the Lamar Jackson stuff revealed in the story. Lamar wanted a fully guaranteed long contract. The Ravens would do 2 or 3 years at most. Lamar balked. He hit restricted FA and no-one wanted him. Ravens made one last offer to him before the draft and he immediately accepted it. I remember some folks on this forum talking about how Lamar "won" at the time. Turns out that Lamar practically jumped at the opportunity to take whatever the Ravens would give him after no-one else offered him a cent.
  10. PSE has always been a disaster - even when Kim was running the show. Remember that meeting where Kim told the staff that made $50k/year that their job was to maintain the Pegula's opulent lifestyle, and that they would be fired before the Pegula's would ever think about doing something like cancelling their vacation to Tahiti?
  11. How much in PSL money did they get ya for?
  12. I think everyone agrees with this. No one that I have seen is saying that there is no chance Coleman turns into something good. What some of us are saying is “right now it doesn’t look great and his issues are not easily fixed”. So many comparisons being made in this thread to players who had the raw physical skills but needed to tweak the skill set. My concern with Coleman is not his ability or inability to refine his skill set - i’m sure he will - my concern is his raw physical skills. For example, I don’t think he is going to just magically gain speed over the offseason.
  13. Lol. I know who Pierce is - I’ve had him on my fantasy team since he was a rookie, paying stupidly to keep him every year because I keep thinking he will finally do something (silly me). If you are happy with Pierce, and you would be happy with Coleman becoming a Pierce-like player, we diverge on what we expect out of borderline 1st round draft picks (and yes, I know Coleman was the first pick of the second round, too).
  14. Yep. There are tons of examples, but they will ignore them. Why? Because Coleman is a Bills player. And as a Bills fan, we tend to dismiss the negatives and look for the positives. If Coleman was on the Dolphins or Chiefs, he would be called a bum around here.
  15. He’s about as good as someone who averages 30 receptions per year can be I suppose.
  16. Not at all. I hope he proves me wrong. But what he has put on tape is not impressive and not indicative of someone I would expect to drastically change. This is not a willpower issue to me. I don't think its an issue of him wanting it bad enough. It's a talent issue. He's slow, an average route runner, and the one thing he was supposed to be great at (ball control), he is one of the worst in the entire NFL according to the data in the chart above. So has every bust in the history of the NFL.
  17. You're talking about Colemans future unless he has a drastic change.
  18. Funny you bring up Mecole Hardman and call him trash (I agree btw), because Coleman is pretty similar to Hardman. In fact, Mecole Hardman had a better rookie year than Coleman. He had the same yardage, more TD's, more YPC, and turned out to be a pretty crappy WR too. PS, Coleman caught 51% of the passes that were thrown to him. Mecole Hardman (who is also not good and I dont want), catches it 70% of the time.
  19. You really seem to love YPC and think it is some barometer of goodness. You might fall over if you look at the greatness that is Alec Pierce and his YPC.
  20. "I know I lost our company that $2 million dollar deal, but im not bad at my job boss, I just need room to grow..." He was absolutely trash lol. At least after October. McDermott and Beane all but said he was trash in their press conferences too.
  21. One of the best technical jokes this forum has seen in a long time.
