Bye- Bye. The Bills are deep at RB and Gore showed in is limited time that he can play in the NFL. No need to keep Evans. Better to give him an opportunity elsewhere.

Diggs hurt (Torn ACL - out for the season)
GASabresIUFan replied to fasteddie's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't miss him on the Bills, but I'm sorry he is hurt. The NFL is better with him playing. -
A couple of facts. Didn’t the Bills just set the record for most games played with either a win or loss by one score or less? As to playing depth players, the Bills rotate to varying degrees 3 RBs, 5WRs, 3TEs, and 9 DL. They also have played more LBs and DBs this season than ever but admittedly this stems from injuries to starters. Only depth OL don’t play much except Anderson who plays regularly. As to the close games, I think you’ll find that many were against similar high end teams. I’d also like to see the home vs road splits. Where I do think the Bills need to change, especially when (if?) the LBs get healthy, is to play a 3rd LB against tough running teams like Baltimore. Our D scheme is a terrible matchup against them.

He is serious and stop calling him Shirley.

Jets on their way to missing the playoffs for the 14th straight year. Maybe the Sabres will end their streak before the Jets end theirs.

Very proud of my Dawgs and Hoosiers. Great win by the Dawgs at Texas to put themselves back into the conversation for a playoff bye. Special shoutout to my Hoosiers. First 8-0 season since 1967. Great energy for the Gameday visit and nice honors for Lee Corso. Very proud of how they, with a backup QB, played stellar defense and opportunistic offense to pull away from a game Washington squad. The Hoosiers demolishing of Nebraska the week before looking even better after the Huskers gave OSU everything they could handle. They should be ranked now as a top 10 team.

James Lofton 1989 and Amari Cooper 2024
GASabresIUFan replied to DeepPass's topic in The Stadium Wall
Why can’t Cook, Kincaid, Coleman, Cooper and Shakir build HOF resumes? Cooper adds another couple 1000 yards seasons he could easily be in the conversation. The others are still NFL kids. Coleman is just a rookie. Shakir is proving himself to be one of the best possession and YAC receivers in the NFL. It’s way pre-mature to put a ceiling on any if these guys careers. -
Trade strategies for need positions at deadline
GASabresIUFan replied to simpleman's topic in The Stadium Wall
I doubt the Bills will make another trade before or at the deadline. Last season there were only 6 trades on deadline day and only 15 total from Sept 20th through Oct 31. Given our limited cap space and how infrequent NFL trades are, the Cooper trade is likely Beane's only move. -

So why was Amari Cooper traded twice in his prime?
GASabresIUFan replied to PoundingDog's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think you need to drill down further. In Dallas CeeDee Lamb arrived on the scene in 2020. Cooper became the No.2 receiver in 2021 as Lamb emerged as a star. Cooper went to Cleveland after that and had two great years, with year 2 in Cleveland being superior to year 1 (17.4 yds per catch vs 14.9). He was sent to Buffalo because Cleveland needs to rebuild again. In Oak the problem was Derek Carr and the offense they ran in 2017 forward. They moved to a more TE/RB type offense to help Carr. In 2018 Oak's leading receivers were their RB and TE. Carr's poor accuracy lead to lousy TGT/Catch ratios for all the receivers (RB, TE and WR). With his rookie contract coming to an end and him being a poor fit for their offense, they shipped him to Dallas. Dallas traded him to Cleveland as he was being paid to be a No. 1 receiver, but was clearly No. 2 behind Lamb. Oak receiver a 1st for Cooper. Dallas only received a 5th for Cooper as Cleveland took on his nearly 19 mill in cap. -
Keon Coleman 5th In Rookie Receiving Yards

Keon Coleman 5th In Rookie Receiving Yards
GASabresIUFan replied to iwishitwerecolder's topic in The Stadium Wall
Nabers (6th overall) 39 Rec 427 yds 3 TDs in 5 games (10.95 yds/rec) Thomas (23rd overall) 30 Rec 513 yds 4 TDs in 7 games (17.1 yds/rec) Coleman (33rd overall) 16 Rec 326 yds 2 TDs in 7 games (20.38 yds/rec) Harrison (4th overall) 17 Rec 279 yds 4 TDs in 7 games (16.41 yds/rec) TE Bowers (13th overall) 47 Rec 477 yds 1 TD in 7 games (10.15 yds/rec) Maybe Beane and company knew something after all? I compared Coleman to Higgins and Pittman on draft day and I think the analogy still holds. -
Everyone should just be thankful that we have 3 good backs and good OL that creates holes for them to run through. I do wish we’d find a way to get Cook into space on the outside more consistently.

Besides a great pedigree and good play each time he has entered a game? Nothing!

Defense: 1st Half vs 2nd Half - What is going on?
GASabresIUFan replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
1st half vs 2nd half 1st half - bad game plan 2nd half - good adjustments -
Considering he is the backup and McGovern is the starter who remains healthy, what did you expect?
-
Besides entering the game today in the 4th qtr and helping the Bills roll right down the field for the final TD?

Amari Cooper is expected to play on Sunday
GASabresIUFan replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Everybody eats isn't a failure. We simply had to the wrong mix of players to execute it well. Injuries haven't helped. GB has 2 good pass catching TEs and 5 good catching WRs. Love always has someone open. We don't have that right now, but we are getting closer to that goal with the addition of Cooper. His presence should help Coleman and Samuel. The best news is that Hollins is now the No. 5 WR and Samuel down to 4. What I'd like to see Brady do is Cooper on one boundary, Coleman on the other, Shakir in the slot and Samuel being used for everything but with more of an emphasis on deep pattern to better use his speed. Complete a few 30 yard passes to Samuel and Cooper and all of the sudden everything else opens up. Yes, I know Samuel hasn't been used much as a deep target over his career. Maybe it's time to try something different with him. -
We need to acquire Josh Allen from the Jags so that we have a Josh Allen on both sides of the ball.

10/14/24 Game 6 Bills at (NJ) Jets MNF Post Game thread
GASabresIUFan replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't think we are giving the Bills team enough credit for the victory over the Jets. The team had to overcome a Jets team at home, playing for a share of the division lead, playing hard for a new coach, terrible refs, a two game losing streak, Bass' kicking, McD's continued terrible end of half/game decisions, a deficient defense, and missing their top RB to win and take a 2 games lead in the East. It's really quite an accomplishment when you think about it. -
The most important reason Cooper is here is to provide a good outside receiving threat. I believe Beane's initial idea was to move Shakir outside (given his nearly identical physical traits to Diggs) and give Samuel the slot job. However, Samuel's toe injury scuttled those plans. The second plan was to hope that Hollins and/or MVS could provide an outside threat. Both plans were to give Coleman time to get up to speed and become a second outside threat as the season progresses. Obviously neither of these plans worked as Hollins is inconsistent, Coleman is still working up to speed, Samuel is clearly slowed by his injury, Shakir also got hurt and MVS was a complete no show. Given that backdrop, the move to acquire Cooper was necessary. Now the question is how quickly can Cooper get up to speed. I expect that Brady/McD and company know what Cooper does best and will work that in the play calling this week. Another change I'd like to see is Samuel sent down the field on deep patterns. Assuming he's healthy, his speed would help stretch the field and considering his contract we need to get some kind of production from him.
