  1. They need to beat the Patriots for us in Week 16. All I ask.
  2. In the midst of a such a low-scoring game, I wonder if the Ravens will regret not kicking a FG there to go up 6-3 heading into the half. I'm a big proponent of going for it on 4th down, but that idea strengthens in high-scoring games and lessens in low-scoring games when easy points, even if it's just 3 points, are so precious.
  3. Roethlisberger won 2 rings. One was against the Seahawks and one was against the Cardinals. I agree that even if Mahomes is QB1 like Tom Brady was, QB2 and QB3 should still be able to get a ring or two like Manning and Roethlisberger did. That's why it's frustrating that Josh is winning 0 with McBeane. The really sad thing is that Allen might actually be this generation's QB1 and will be shutout by McBeane.
  4. McBeane are the coach and GM that drafted Josh, the only coach and GM that Josh has ever known in the NFL. It's pure fantasy-land to think that he's been deciding whether they stay or go all these years. I do agree, though, that this may come up in the future. Once Josh is 33 years old and still ringless thanks to McBeane, he might ask for changes and a new voice in the locker room / front office.
  5. Even if we suck this year, we're still going to win 10-11 games. There's no such thing as tanking for an elite talent when you have Josh Allen at QB. He keeps us afloat too well.
  6. It really just depends on how we respond on Monday night. If we win, then 5-1 is a perfectly reasonable and good record for the first 6 games, keeping in mind we played a healthy Ravens team and New England is, outside of QB, as talented as the Bills and even enjoys clear advantages at certain key positions like CB1, CB2, and WR1. Lose again to fall to 4-2, and it'll feel like we're squandering the massive gifts the football gods have handed us with Burrow's injury, the Raven's multiple injuries to Pro Bowlers, and KC losing close games finally.
  7. The Falcons have a light front 7 that hopefully the Bills can roadgrade a bit. Penix is also a tier or two down from Maye and will hopefully help us with a few misses here and there on key downs. The matchup isn't that bad imo.
  8. Who exactly is this news to? We are on the road as only a 3.5-pt favorite, against a team coming off a bye. Of course we could lose. Now I happen to think the Bills bounce back here, win and cover. What is even the point of McDermott and his "culture" if it isn't to have a strong bounce-back win here? We have to show our character here.
  9. Vegas isn't predicting the Bills to win the Super Bowl lol. Our odds are just a function of our schedule and how we're positioned in the standings vs other preseason favorites in the conference like the Ravens and Chiefs. We're overrated in the odds, but that's Vegas' job. They want to make it so that if you bet the Bills, you're making a bad bet.
  10. Both the Bills and Falcons like to run the ball too much to get into that kind of a shootout. Plus, statistically, Atlanta's D has been really strong through 4 games. They haven't given up 300 yards yet. And I don't think Penix is on the level of Allen, Stafford, Mayfield or Darnold (of the past two seasons).
  11. I really doubt there was heavy action on the Bills to cover the spread. Especially after the Bills had already failed to cover the previous two weeks against the Dolphins and Saints. If anything, I would guess the public was on NE if it wasn't an relatively even split.
  12. I don't get the "who would you replace him with" questions. We'd have to wait until the offseason, sure, but then the Bills would have the pick of litter among the best OC and head coaches available. (I would not hire a DC). Every coach would love to coach Josh Allen. Heck, we probably should've just hired Vrabel ourselves.
  13. Outside of QB, can we really make a case that the Bills have more talent than NE? Both teams have good o-lines. Both teams have RB depth. Maybe Cook is the best RB talent but it's just RB; Stevenson and Henderson would thrive in Buffalo, too. Diggs is better than any WR we have. We have more TE depth but Henry is as good as any single TE we have. Neither d-line can rush the passer consistently. Pats do have a couple of good interior rushers, but hopefully Oliver coming back evens that up. Pats secondary is better, and Christian Gonzales is easily better than anyone we have back there. We probably have better LBs but are lacking depth. As for QB, Maye still has a lot to prove. If you scheme to stop him from rolling right (lol at McDermott), then he's too concerned about the pass rush in the pocket and can't make plays downfield. Collingsworth made it seem like that's just something he'll have to improve on but that's easier said than done. A lot of QBs never get over this.
  14. Re: Brady's LSU stint The season right before Brady arrived, LSU already had Burrow, Jefferson, and Chase, and they were a bad offense. Seriously, the season before Burrow threw for 60 TDs, he threw for only 16 TDs without Brady. Brady actually was not the offensive coordinator and didn't call the plays on game day, but he designed that passing offense. If you followed college football closely that season, there was no doubt that the bulk of the credit went to Joe Brady for LSU's transformation from bad to historically great offense.
  15. I support the "4-0 is all that matters" type takes because we've literally done it the other way before. There were at least two seasons recently where we had a dominant September (but were only 3-1 instead of 4-0 after four games) and statistically, we looked like the best team ever according to EPA / play or something like that. (There were threads on here that shouldn't be tough to find). But, as we should know by now, dominating September doesn't matter and didn't matter in those seasons. By the time the playoffs came around, we didn't play that well. For this season, I want to see us healthy and playing our best ball in January, after having rested because of the playoff bye / 1 seed. All that matters at this point is that we're 4-0 and in pole position for the bye / 1-seed.
  16. Yeah, plus the relatively early bye isn't ideal. It also might be more accurate to say that the Bills' schedule is backloaded rather than outright easy. I mean, we're still playing first-place teams as a division winner from last season, we just happen to play most of them in the back half of the season.
  17. Being greedy, I would've wanted our secondary to play better and for our passcatchers to look more explosive and create more separation. Happy with 3-0 though of course
  18. Browning will fall to 4-4 today. Still no wins against playoff teams or teams not resting their starters. (And Minnesota, who is pasting Cincy, might not be a playoff team this year). If the thinking was that Browning is a starter-level backup, let's slow our roll on that.
  19. I'd be worried about picking the Bucs this week. Feels like the Jets could rally around Tyrod (who might be an upgrade at QB), and the Jets DL finally makes TB pay for all their OL injuries.
  20. Yes, we're trying to win a Super Bowl with less receiving talent than other major contenders like the Eagles, Ravens, etc. But that is old news. We knew this already. Josh is still going to power us to 30 pts/gm and hopefully for the first time, we'll get the 1-seed and bye this year, and that can push us over the top.
  21. Worried as Bills fans, yes, but that's typical Survivor. Week 1, I had the Eagles and they could've lost to the Cowboys. There will be many closer calls than last night as we advance each week, and it wasn't that bad, really. I don't believe Miami ever had the ball AND the lead., and it's only when the enemy can open up a two-score lead that you begin to sweat a bit. Otherwise, you figure Josh Allen will tie it or take the lead, whatever the case may be. And he did.
  22. I don't get it. If it's a tough week elsewhere (meaning it's tough to pick winners?), then this is the perfect week to use double-digit fave Buffalo.
  23. I know there are other factors that go into this, but I can't imagine we'll have a better week to use the Bills. Thursday night home teams have historically had an edge due to the compressed travel schedule / practice time for the opponent. Miami is dealing with turmoil and could see their coach and GM fired after this game. Finally, they just gave a huge effort against the Patriots and lost a heartbreaker and now have to go on the road to face this Bills team and these Bills fans. Feels like Miami is going to let go of the rope in this one.
