Source: Colin Kaepernick wants out of SF, in with J-e-t-s

I would love for the Bills to face Ck twice per year, almost as much as I love facing Fitz twice per year. -
The NFL Has Formed a Committee to Fix the Catch Rule
FLFan replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The current NFL catch rule feels like a rule put together by a committee of lawyers, which is I suspect exactly how it was done. It is too complex and has become disconnected from reality in many ways. It needs to be simplified and brought back to understandable, common sense logic. I am not sure how to do that, but if the League comes back from this and say there is no issue, then they are completely disconnected from reality. -

Jets Owner: Losses to Bills Still Sting
FLFan replied to Protocal69's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Rex Ryan took Todd Bowles to school in both games. Woody should be upset. The final game in particular was very telling. Hey Woody - you are not as good as think you are. -
Sully column implies Rex is stealing the Pegula's money
FLFan replied to JoeF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am sure this has already been said somewhere in the eight pages, but one thing Sully knows about is stealing an employers money, since he has been doing it to the TBN for years. -
I think Reich's firing had less to do with him than McCoy wanting to make room for Whisenhut. Somebody had to take the fall for a terrible season. It probably should have been McCoy, but since not, the offensive staff got it.

Maddog Sports segment on the non hiring of Marrone
FLFan replied to mellaman101's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I suspect you are right. They were willing to give him another year but Marrone overplayed his hand with the opt-out threat. -

History Repeats Itself -- and it's confusing
FLFan replied to Vinaccia's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is one of the few rational posts I have seen on this subject, not only in this thread, but in the myriad others suggeting Rex Ryan is the sole reason for the seeming regression of the defense. Let me also point out that on last year's defense, while they were good against the run early, in the last half of the season they were giving up running yards in big chunks. Last year's defense had better stats but their accomplishments are overblown by fans on this board, and in fact, did lose the Bills their share of games. They were not a dominant defense, although they could be at times, just as this year's could. The change in coaching and scheme no doubt had some impact. I think the loss of Aaron Wiliams early had a huge impact, as did the loss of Kyle Williams fairly early in the season. Not having McKelvin also hurt, although many fans here seem to think otherwise. To me there is also no question that some of the Billls star players underperformed. Mario is at the head of this queue, but Dareus lacked consistent effort. Hughes seems to come around in the last half, but Brown and Bradham were largely ineffective, and regressed dramatically. Is that all scheme? Did Ryan forget how to coach? How much was due to these factors, and how much was due to the players not being up to it, is the key question and while I do not know the answer,I am sure it is not as simple as one or other. What is saw from a number of individual players on this team this year is guys believing more in their own press clippings and caring more about their own stats than the success of the team. This gets to the heart of Alaska's post. Last year's team ultimately also failed, and the defense was a part of that failure. Perhaps they are just not as good as they think they are. In any case it is clear to me that the Bills need to start purging this team of players who will not buy in, will not play hard for their teammates, will not show leadership either by their actions or their vocal support. Starting with Mario Williams. I think most would say Seattle had an outstanding run of dominant defense although they seemed to slip a little this year. Arizona is also pretty darn good, as is Denver this year. All three of those examples are better than anything the Bills have fielded, and not necessarily because they have more supposed talent. -
Out of that list, I would not advocate for any of them. Kaep is probably the closest thing, but he is not getting cut, is too expensive for a potential back up, and likely going nowhere now that Chip is bringing the circus to SF. The Bills are likely stuck with EJ one more year and I would draft one somewhere on day 2 to develop. If they could trade EJ, that would free up $3m to sign an experienced back up, but as usual the list of available QBs is not very appealing. The Bills will benefit from going into training camp with TT as the unquestioned starter without the distraction of another competition for that role.

Well, good luck with that. I hear Sam Bradford is available. Perhaps even Ryan Fitzpatrick. It would have taken real guts to pass up Clowney for Blake Bortles at first overall, but they are probably wishing they had now.

With Mike Smith a candidate, and Marrone a possible front runner, they are officially scraping the bottom of the barrel.
-
Apparently you did not see the Bills first super bowl game vs. Dallas. I won't bother to go back farther than that, but in my 50 years or so of watching the Bills, I have seen far worse, many times. That's not to say it was good mind you, but far from the worst.

Pettine officially fired by Browns; Marrone to interview
FLFan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So Charlie Casserly would "hire him in a minute". Yet another poor judgement example of why Casserly is no longer in the NFL. -
Marrone/Schwartz to Miami? Nope. Gase it is.
FLFan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wait. I thought that last year this was a meaningless win, against the Pats B team, after Marrone screwed the pooch and did not make the playoffs with a fabulous defense. At least that seemed to be the prevailing opinion last year at this time. I love revisionist history. Are you seriously suggesting the Bills would have won that game against the full Cheats squad? It looks more like 8-8, albeit for different reasons, than 9-7 to me. -
Was it not LaConfora who was pimping Marrone as the can't miss candidate after he quit the Bills? Some connection there?
-
Unfortunately, that was not the only one. About the only times he was noticeable all year was when he was late to a play or missing a tackle. Very disappointing performance by him, and bad timing in a contract year.
-
Of course Tim Graham would get his panties in a twist over that comment. He is one of the most guilty parties when it comes to using innuendo and questionable sourcing to stir the pot with unsubstantiated gossip, generating clicks for his tripe. He is just about the worst "journalist" I have ever seen.

Jets--they really aren't much, if at all better than Bills

Bowles was out coached by Rex Ryan, for the second time this season, during yesterday's game. So there is that. -
AP Report: Bills Will Release Mario After the Season
FLFan replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The joke is the way Mario quit on his team this year, his whining like a baby. No room for a $20m per year malcontent on any team. I am really disappointed in his performance this year. Blaming it all on the coach is flat out wrong - childish by the player, and extraordinarily naive on the part of fans. -
Bucky Gleason: The Pegulas May Be in Over Their Heads
FLFan replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bucky Gleason is, and always has been, an idiot. He has had it in for Pegula ever since Terry dared criticize the poor reporting presented by TBN on literally his first day as owner if the Sabres. Gleason has nothing to add. He is even worse at his job than Sullivan, although it is hard to believe that is possible. -
Osweiler or Tyrod: Who Would You Sign Long-Term?
FLFan replied to The Frankish Reich's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Neither. Both of these QBs have shown promise, but also enough holes in their game to question whether they are worth a long term commitment. -
Pegulas announce Rex and Whaley will return in 2016
FLFan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow. I am really surprised that a man who built a multi-billion dollar business did not make a critical business decision based on the uninformed opinions of fans or the even less informed whining of local media members. What a shock! -
