  1. The problem with the reaction to this case is people have made up their minds with such limited information. First everyone assumed the allegations in the police report were 100% true - this is not always the case. Then when his girlfriend publicly denied the claims in the report, people automatically assumed she changed her story out of fear. None of us has the knowledge or information to make a decision either way, yet so many have made their minds up. A sad commentary on the knee jerk reactions these days Even though the victim denied the documentation? People just will believe anything to suit their narrative
  2. Quentin Jefferson as DL has about as much impact as Justin Jefferson at DL
  3. Different situation… Mario Williams was very good for 2 seasons and played at an All-Pro level in 2014. The Bills did overpay to get him in Buffalo but he played well. Things went downhill after when Rex took over. It wasn’t just the scheme change he fell off a cliff and was out of the league two years later.
  4. I largely agree with what you said but do have to defend the move by Beane. Anytime you sign a player to a big contract, injuries are always a risk - whether young or old. Look at Joe Burrow’s injury this season. Just because he blew an ACL three years prior, doesn’t really mean it would happen again. The way the contract was structured, it was basically a 3-year contract and I feel that was reasonable. They did have an overpay a little, but LAR and DAL were also in the mix to sign him to a similar contract. So it was a deal somewhat close to his market value and was not an egregious contract. Now where I can agree with you is the need for Von in the first place. Beane and McDermott consistently failed to find a difference maker as an edge rusher despite spending a time of money and draft resources. Trent Murphy was an absolute disaster. Mario Addison was just a dude. Quentin Jefferson was invisible. Boogie Basham was a bust AJ Epinesa and Greg Rousseau flashed but not enough as DE1 They failed at everything else, so they had to overpay for name brand and it worked for 10 games. But in this situation, they took a big swing and by happenstance it doesn’t look like it will work out. I can’t really fault them though.
  5. I believe he sacked Mahomes on 3rd down late to get the ball back. He was literally the “closer” they signed him to be…then he got hurt
  6. It’s funny how the narrative is that signing Von was a terrible move. Everyone was so excited when they made the move and into the season it seemed to pay off. Not just from a sack percentage but Von helped the defense get good pressure with rushers. Once he was hurt it was a different story. I’m in the camp that you can’t really forecast injuries. Just because he blew an ACL earlier does not mean it will happen again. Brady blew his ACL once and was fine playing into his mid 40’s. Now since we lost Von Miller and he’s struggled to recover this season, everyone is saying what a bad deal it’s been. And for the most part it has but it’s more of a result of injuries than anything else
  7. Especially when he’s paying McDermott $30M to go away
  8. This is almost guaranteed to happen. I think part of his plan to fix things next season will involve hiring a fresh new DC (I think it will be Bobby Babich) and retaining Brady as OC. He stays as HC but we get new, younger coordinators with connections to the team but different ideas than their predecessors.
  9. I do as well. I am a bit worried over how he’s called defense in the final moments of games this season. Hoping to see the change during the final 5 The problem is that Terry likes Sean as HC and doesn’t want to change We won’t have to fret…there’s a 0% chance of that happening
  10. We know what you mean…and you are correct
  11. He means “social media justice” but the overall point is correct. Given the instant news cycle and social media, the second someone is accused of something they are automatically guilty in the court of public opinion.
  12. I actually agree with Gregggg here. I don’t think Terry regrets giving Sean that much power because for the most the part he’s done a great job. Look at the Bills from 2014-2017 when he first bought them. An absolute shitshow filled with cronies from the Ralph and sheer incompetence from Doug Whaley. McDermott comes in with a detailed plan how to fix things and actually does it both on and off the field. If Terry was unsatisfied with Sean as HC, it wouldn’t be hard to part ways. I guess you may have to worry about how the GM will work with the next HC, but that’s how it goes. I think Terry still believes in Sean
  13. It is to some fans here who were convinced Brandon Beane was going to tell Terry to fire McDermott!
  14. LOL how about not fumbling the kneel down snap 🤣
  15. Vote with you PSL’s
  16. In McDermott we trust… he will be head coach in 2024. Maybe longer
  17. It’s not working for a 6-5 Houston Texans led by a former DC from San Fran It’s likely Dunkirk Don
  18. It won’t make a damn difference for 2024
  19. Just not the same player. He’s pulling out all of his old tricks from speed rushing, to bull rushing, to the ghost move and none of it’s working
  20. Shouldn’t this thread be moved into the one about talking heads? 😂😂😂
  21. Tim Graham: “Asked if there was any chance Pegula would fire McDermott, two of the sources replied “Zero.” The other two sources said they would be shocked if Pegula made such a move. All four sources have intimate knowledge of the Pegula-McDermott relationship.” 🤣🤣🤣
  22. This is pretty spot on… though most GM’s don’t say anything too crazy during the end of season presser either. I’d expect him to play the injury card up quite a bit on defense: ”Any time you lose players like Matt Milano, DaQuan Jones, and Tre White for the season, it’s going to be challenging to win in this league. As good as they are ON the field, the presence they have as leaders in the locker room is HUGE.”
  23. These stats aren’t too surprising. Many people have commented on Von Miller looks like the worst edge rusher on the roster.
  24. It’s not a great situation but teams always figure this out through re-structures etc. It means that there won’t be any “big ticket” signings as Brandon Beane like to say, again. But I would be shocked if the Bills release Dawkins or Johnson. I do think they are bracing for 2025 to be a bit of a cap reset year which is why they need to hit on some picks again this year.
  25. I 100% agree. Merging so many threads together has made it nearly impossible to find the most recent news on a topic. You have to start at the back of the back of a page and the go back until you can find the original post. It makes the inexperience incredibly inefficient and hard to navigate. I never saw a problem with multiple threads on the same topic as long as it wasn’t the same *exact* topic repeated twice. @Bills fan since 87 we salute you 🍻
