Sunday Ticket lawsuit alleges price fixing by the NFL
Virgil replied to stuvian's topic in The Stadium Wall
If the players got larger contracts as a result of this deal, and they are paid based upon a percentage in revenue sharing, would the players not be affected for future deals? I’m not saying the players should help pay for this, but they are directly affected. -
Sunday Ticket lawsuit alleges price fixing by the NFL
Virgil replied to stuvian's topic in The Stadium Wall
There's a lot of ways for the NFL to come up with this money, and I wouldn't be surprised if trying to reduce the cap isn't one of those ideas. In the current agreement, there's a revenue sharing split between the owners and players. Whatever that percentage is, it would be fair to me to have it apply to who pays the lawsuit bill. Both the owners and players made out on the TV deals. Look at the NBA. The players negotiate their deals almost exclusively around when the new TV deals are set to land. I'm not going to argue what the players have to physically go through and the toll playing takes on their bodies, but they can definitely afford to make less if needed. To me, I do think the owners should take the brunt of paying the fees as they were the ones who negotiated the deal. As for the owners who don't have that type of cash laying around, there are plenty of legitimate ways for them to get it. As for the comments about fans being willing to pay the Sunday Ticket price. What other choice did they have as a football fan? I think it begs the question, just because they can charge that much, should they? This is where the governments gets involved with monopolies and anti-trust. The prices for Sunday ticket and where it's available are crazy. I'd argue this is almost like gambling addictions. You can always say that people don't need to gamble, but let's be real. Most fans aren't going to stop watching their team because the price of Sunday Ticket is too high. Sunday Ticket almost single handedly kept DirecTv in business because of it. There's a lot of rambling in there. End result, I think this loss by the NFL is a good thing. They have been running unchecked for a while now and the fans are paying for it. From Roger saying Super Bowl isn't for the fans to attend anymore, what we are seeing with the Bills new stadium and PSL's, and a bunch of other moves, the NFL is feeding off the addictive nature of it's product and needs to be regulated. -

The problem is, this has been our MO the past few years. Team just can’t stay healthy or age catches them at the midpoint. -

This is getting pathetic. How did the entire team forget how to pitch? The mid season fall off is ridiculous and an absolute waste of what Judge and Soto are doing. -
Josh was their with Hailee and his ex Britt was there? I'm sure that was super fun for everyone. Imagine being Britt and seeing the your upgrade attached to your multi-million dollar ex

Doesn't the original Anchor Bar have an outdoor patio? That should suffice for a hosting location

I'm not sure if there's a BBFS for the Yankees, but I might have it. We've seen hot starts before, only to have the season get completely derailed by injuries or cold finished into the playoffs. Soto has been amazing, and I believe he will keep it up. But Judge and Staunton haven't hit the DL yet and I feel like that's only a matter of time with them. Granted, Volpe is also on a tear, but it's hard for me to not expect the other shoe to drop at any moment. The true optimism for me comes from the pitching. The rotation is doing great, and that's without Cole. If they keep it going like they are now, and can stay relatively healthy, it could be a championship year and they will be forced to resign Soto. I hope they do regardless, as I think Stanton can come off the books soon, but you never know. I can't think of a FA that's come in and changed the team since the late 90's when O'Neill and Martinez joined the team. -
I would be there in the heartbeat

I guess they are taking Hill at his word that he plans to retire after this contract. Waddle without Hill is a completely different receiver and not worth this much money. Imagine having 80 mil tied up in Waddle and Tua? 🤣

It's on a Wednesday!? That's worse than it being on Netflix. Short rest games like that, so late in the season, are terrible for the players.

This makes me hope our season opener is on the road, and east coast. Knock out 2 road games and a Thursday night game early while everyone is fresh. Then the Bills have extra rest for week 3.
