  1. Right call, wrong decision by Allen. I personally believe Allen had no intention of letting Moss run that regardless of what the defense showed. Allen is a baller and ballers keep the ball.
  2. This means absolutely nothing, but still fun to look at for me. Through 7 games, the following players are on pace for: Allen - 4613 Passing Yards, 466 Rushing Yards (5079 Total Yards) and 43 Total Touchdowns Motor - 683 Rushing Yards, 2 Touchdowns Diggs - 1378 Receiving Yards, 7 Touchdowns Beasley - 1074 Receiving Yards, 5 Touchdowns Poyer - 96 Tackles (not a number you want for a safety, but he's in the box and covering shallow a lot)
  3. When coming off a two game losing streak, even if you are about to play the Jets, sometimes you have to change things up as a fan. For myself, I kept the meal the same but didn't take notes this game. Rather than looking at certain players or watching parts of the field, I just watched the game as a fan and was curious to see what would stand out to me hours later. With that, if I miss a detail or something, be gentle. 1 - Bass - Let's start with the man who was 100% of our offense. I'm sure there's going to be a lot of different opinions on him today as many will pick apart the misses. I was overall impressed with him and there were two things that stood out to me, besides his obviously powerful leg. My biggest concern with Bass going into this game was that he seemed to just boom the ball off his foot and didn't show a lot of overall control. Today, you saw the spin and draw that most kickers have, which gave me more confidence. The best part of his game today was his second miss. He didn't look lost or beaten down, but instead immediately took ownership and you could tell it didn't phase him. He didn't take the miss as a sign of not deserving of being on the field, but was instead just a miss. We knew this season was going to have it's ups and downs with Bass, so this was a good progression game and ultimately did what we needed today. I would have called this the "Special Teams" though, but we didn't punt. Although, Roberts did continue to have some nice returns. 2 - Scripted drives. I'll be honest, I was a little nervous when the game started as the Jets moved down the field fairly effortlessly against our defense. The entire first half had to make you wonder if we were in for an upset. I never was worried overall, but it was hard not to at least consider the possibility. We were prone to the normal misdirection passes and were gashed on the zone runs. I always think of the Mike Mularkey days when we would score an opening drive TD every game, but then couldn't do anything else. That was the Jets in the first half with only a few possessions. They made it look effortless until the scripted plays wore off. That's when things got ugly for them real quick. 3 - Rushing Attack - I was just going to focus on Motor, but Moss overall had a strong game today as well. It was frustrating on some of our drives how much we abandoned the run, especially when we proved that it was working well enough to keep it alive. I think Daboll needs to work on his run/pass ratio, but I really want to talk about two things with Motor. His pass blocking/blitz pick-ups are light years ahead of where they were last season. He does a fantastic job there and I like to see that evolution. Also, and I'm terrified to jinx it, but he also covers the ball a lot better and hasn't coughed one up yet. He uses both arms on the ball and holds it tighter between the hashes; again, another improvement. Moss was a good compliment, but I still worry about his speed. He doesn't ever make me feel like he's going to break one. 4 - I'm a king bee buzzing around your hive Now I'm a king bee darling buzzing around your hive Yeah, I can make some honey babe if you let me fly up inside Cause I'm young and able to buzz all night long I'm young and able mama, Lord to buzz all night long And you know together we can make some honey Like the world ain't never known 5 - Beasley - Talk about a quite 100 yard game. Beasley is the key to this offense while defenses are running 2-3 deep safeties against us. How Beasley was utilized today was perfect and I hope to see more of the same. I was hoping to see more Gabriel Davis today in a similar fashion, but I'd have to see the All-22 to watch if he was running the deep routes with Diggs. Either way, it's crazy to think our #3 is well on his way to a 1K season. I love the toughness he plays with and don't know if we win this game today without him. I hope he eats the Pats alive next week and is the best short route receiver on the field. 6 - Kroft - Regardless of when Knox can come back, I believe Kroft needs to remain the primary started at TE going forward this season. He didn't post huge stats, but caught all 4 balls his way and was fantastic with his blocking. In both the rush and pass, Kroft owned guys on a few plays today and his reliability in both blocking and short yardage catching is something I can't understate. If Allen's throw is a little better, Kroft takes a long one to the house. Knox has a ton of potential, but I think he needs to earn that snap count before we pull Kroft's reliability off the field. Yes, this is the first time I've ever complimented Kroft in one of these. 7 - Offense - This is a tough one for me as I can't quite put a pin on what the issues are with the offense. Yes, Allen had another 300 yard passing game, but we were also in Jets territory at least 9 times and didn't score a touchdown (I want to see a replay of the one called back). Our red zone offense has been a point of pride this season and it was non-existent today. I liked the few Allen called runs to keep the defense honest. I didn't like how little Diggs was targeted early in the game, although I saw a stat of how much Josh was spreading it around. Yes, defenses have been playing to stop the deep ball, but we've struggled to adjust through 3 games at this point and the schedule isn't getting any easier. Today wasn't about Josh being off, but just the offense missing something. 8 - Safeties - Poyer is still one of the more under-rated safeties in the game. His ability to play anywhere on the field and then, once he sees where the ball is going, go after it like a heat-seeking missile is impressive. He's going to be a big factor next week against the Pats and I believe he will bring it. Hyde was solid in coverage today, but I really want to talk about his PF. Man, if there was ever an NFL play! I get protecting the defenseless receiver, so the penalty didn't bother me too much. I would argue that the receiver lowered his head at the time of hit, and his injury was less about the head shot and more about getting absolutely blasted by a strong NFL defender. These guys don't get enough credit in my opinion and was happy to see the energy they brought to the defense today. 9 - 2nd Half Defense. I don't really know what to even say specifically about the group. I know it was the Jets, but they are still technically and NFL team who showed decent success in the first half. Someone can add the stats in for me if they want, but Darnold completed what, 2 passes in the second half? I think they had less than 40 total yards too? I mean, the defenders were flying to the ball and the defensive line actually started to make some plays. Hughes was amped up towards the end and somehow walked away with an interception. Even AJ seemed to be showing signs of life in this game. However, I do want to call out that we put more guys in the box for pressure, which shockingly worked (sarcasm). Hopefully, this game is the spark needed by the team going forward. I was surprised to hear Harrison being a healthy scratch again and am concerned about his trajectory. But the DB's played a much better game today and the linebackers didn't totally whiff on their tackles, which was a plus 10 - 5-2 - Talk about playing the Jets twice all your want, but we've earned wins against 3 teams with .500 records or better and have survived quite a few injuries. Going into this game, I was hoping we would sit more guys if they thought the extra week would help them get better. I'm glad we didn't because we needed everyone today. My season MVP besides Allen still goes to Smoke as you can feel his absence out there. Each Sunday is a new game and the past means nothing. We have some tough games overall coming up, but this next one is the difference maker. Don't even look at the Pats record. What matters is that McD has never beaten the Hoodie and the division is there's until someone actually takes it from them. There's no excuses in this next game and 6-2 at the halfway mark is a big win with this schedule. Every team goes through moments in a season where they have to adjust and re-invent. Hopefully we are seeing our offense and defense slowing coming through the other side of that. Regardless, it's about the record and 5-2 is a great start to the season with a division guiding game coming up next. Go Bills!
  4. They have zero read option support without him. I don’t think he’s getting benched. But yes, he looks bad
  5. Jets seemed to have abandoned the run, not sure why
  6. Nope. His first throw was all I needed to see. He’s going to take a bit
  7. Jets 21 Bills 17 Darnold feeds on the mediocre defense and Gase survives another week. Allen takes a step back and Edmunds is decommissioned for the season. Bills go from buyers to sellers at the trade deadline, getting rid of everyone on the defensive line
  8. Engram from NYG DT from anyone
  9. Not sure what her word is worth, but interesting if true already
  10. Beating the Jets and Pats won't make me feel better about who we are as a team, but it will make me feel way better about winning the division, which is the most important thing. From there, how we fair will be a different question. I think we are past the point of hoping for playoffs and want to be a team that can make a run. Right now, we haven't proven to be good enough to make it past the 2nd round, albeit a first round win would be a success for the franchise. Overall, with the defense showing top 5 in previous years and what Josh looked like in the first 4 games, there's just a lot of disappointment after expectations created by how the team has played.
  11. Did he? I thought he missed most of the previous season? I could google, but that sounds hard
  12. I think this is a terrible decision by the Dolphins, but in turn a great decision for us. There's absolutely no reason to put this kid in the starting lineup. Even if he's 100% recovered fro his surgery, there's no harm in letting him watch this first season to develop. The offense is going to take a step back with Tua. This isn't an indication of how I think he will overall be as a pro, just replacing a solid starting (albeit streaky) qb for a rookie who's been out of football for almost 2 years is a risk for any team.
  13. I did what now? I’d double check that one
  14. Not the pass to the back of the endzone. I don't blame Diggs as the defender was pulling on his left arm. There was another endzone pass to Diggs where he was coming across the field with a few steps on the defender and Josh just plain missed him Interesting theory if true Also shows what another week of not generating a turnover can do for the team
  15. That's why I didn't really talk about it. I'm not playing the "What if" game as I tend to get yelled at for that
  16. I'm worried because it's two weeks in a row where you could tell from the first time, he was mentally just off. The result carried through the entire game. Something is missing
  17. This is the first week I'm going to list these thoughts in a particular order. I'm going to start with the good and then get to the bad. Win or lose, there's always some positives, so let's do that... 1 - Bojo - Kid had some great punts today in both positioning and power. He really flipped the field today and did everything he could to give the Chiefs bad field position. He's taken some grief for his laces out hold last week, but he's definitely come a long way since last season to be a reliable part of the team. I'm not going to talk about the Bass miss before halftime, even though it wasn't even close, as those misses are going to happen with a rookie kicker in these conditions, and that's what McD signed up for. And that's the end of the positive list... 2 - Allen - I'm not going to talk about his stats, his missed throw to Diggs in the end zone, or his overall inaccuracy at times. I'm just going to talk about the key things that makes Allen who he is, and that's his swagger. For the past two weeks, Allen hasn't had that look in his eyes, that kid-like excitement, and that overall confidence that made you believe he could score from anywhere on the field. I don't know if he just doesn't know what to do against these defenses, but I don't believe he's seen anything dramatically new these past few weeks. Whatever it is, Allen has taken a step back these two weeks and hopefully it's not a sign of things to come. This is the most concerning thought to me as this is something I didn't think would ever go away. Right now, the MVP talk has to stop and figure out if this is the first 2 games is a sign of things to come, and hope we see Josh of old next week against the Jets. 3 - Daboll - Players have to execute, and I'll get to that in a minute. Against the Rams and the Chiefs, we've seen first hand what misdirection runs can do for an offense. Daboll seemed to finally understand this in the 2nd quarter as we ran quite a few misdirection/zone runs and found success. It created decent length runs and kept our defense off the field. Once halftime came though, we just abandoned it again and went back to runs up the middle to little or no gain. I hate being a couch coach saying what's obvious to me, but this has been an issue all season to which we are not adjusting. 4 - Look into any eyes you find by you, you can see clear to another day, Maybe been seen before, through other eyes on other days while going home. What do you want me to do, to do for you to see you through? It's all a dream we dreamed one afternoon, long ago. 5 - Frazier - Regardless of total yards, you have to give the defense the credit for keeping it a 3 point game at halftime. Yards mean nothing if they don't translate to points. If the defense makes a single 3rd down stop on the last drive, the Bills offense gets the ball back with a chance to win it. However, against a team like the Chiefs where you know you have to get the off the field eventually, you can't afford so many 3rd down broken coverages. I also understand wanting to keep 3 deep coverage against this offense, but you also need to have more than 4 defensive lineman in the box, a lesson never learned. Tre White deserves a big F to me in this game as he blew coverage on the Kelce TD and the backbreaking 3rd down play in the 4th that put the Chiefs in FG range. The absolute disregard for containing Mahomes on scrambles is also inexcusable. Sometimes he had the right plays called, but then you had..... 6 - Tackling - Say what you want about field conditions, but the Chiefs didn't seem to have anywhere near the issues tackling that we did. There were multiple missed tackles that led to first downs, plays we had stopped in the backfield, sacks, and even a touchdown that all could have been executed to a halt if the tackling was there. This has been a growing theme for us and it a major concern. Tackling is going to be a huge issue for us against teams like the Patriots and Broncos who run hard. And not only aren't we tackling, we aren't stopping guys momentum. How often do you see our defensive players riding the back of the opposing team as they get extra yards? 7 - Defensive Line - I get McD wanting to send a message by benching Murphy and Phillips. Unfortunately, plan B wasn't much better. I can't remember ever seeing a defensive line get so manhandled as I saw tonight. The Chiefs pick who they were going to double each rush, but left the other 3 guys in single coverage. I watched Oliver in particular on multiple plays to watch him get absolutely manhandled in single blocks, or be behind the play. The most egregious error, which I hope to be proven wrong by the All-22, but Oliver looked to give up on pursuing Mahomes on one of his scrambles. Either way, in a game where Frazier relied on his guys to win the 1 on 1, that didn't happen and he made zero adjustments from it. 8 - Offensive Line - Our offensive line reminds me of the Madden game. We have high pass block ratings and non-existent run block ratings. While Daboll isn't helping them with his bland run scheme, these guys are consistently unable to get any push and win their 1 on 1 match ups. To see the Chiefs do it on the offense just made our offense so much worse. Again, this is a combined effort between Daboll and the line, but neither get a pass by blaming the other. 9 - Soft Middle Zone Coverage - Like a certain player I said I wouldn't mention again this season, I think I'm done talking about the Bills complete inability to cover 5-15 yards up the middle of the field with their zone. Of all people to not cover, Kelce was left alone a few times with guys short yards away. It just makes no sense to me and I don't know why opposing offenses don't just work their way down field with those short passes and zone runs. We've show zero ability to stop either. 10 - McD - Two teams walked onto the field with what appeared to be similar game plans for tonight. I'd argue that both teams match up well with rosters, but one team just punched the other in the mouth in the trenches. Allen didn't have it for the 2nd week in a row. Multiple personal fouls after the play was over. Two nationalized televised games where we ***** the bed. Like last week, both teams had to deal with adjusted scheduled, weather, or whatever circumstance you want to use as an excuse, and both weeks we came out flat. The only thing we learned this week was that the Titans game wasn't a fluke and we have a serious problem. This schedule doesn't get much easier besides the Jets and our offense is taking a step back. McD was being talked about for Coach of the Year and now he has to earn it. 4-2 isn't a bad start to the season and 5-2 is a very real probability. But we've also been there before with a 5-2 start that falls apart. This season could easily turn into one of those scenarios of McD doesn't figure things out with his Quarterback, player execution, and schemes Go Bills!
  18. I think any injury can mentally affect someone. Even if makes you hesitant by a split second, your ability to process things as fast gets affected. But maybe that's me. Personally, I don't know how pitchers who take line drives to the face ever go back out on the mound again. I'd always be flinching after every release
  19. The real question is: What’s more effective - McD’s rotation method or the big named player with a price tag?
  20. so she assumed porn?
  21. Error I assume. Unless sneaky Roger is trying to get one over on them
  22. That's.......that's what we are doing. I just...I got nothing
  23. This didn't even get nominated for Angry Runs?
