Is it me, or did the refs heavily influence the game once it was only a 6 point SanFran lead? Granted, I don't know why the offensive linemen kept pushing downfield, but the Seahawks seemed to always be 2nd and 20+. Seahawks were at the 8 yard line and about to score to take a 1 point lead. Penalties, sack fumble, more penalties, and that was all she wrote. Sucks to have the refs influence a game that much

Wow…Sammy Watkins statement on Lamar 😬😳🥶🤦🏼♂️
Virgil replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
From everything the local reporters have said, Lamar wants fully guaranteed just like Watson and the Ravens have told him it’s never happening. There was a rumor of a large amount fully guaranteed, but I can’t remember how much. Someone in here said 200 mil, and that may be right. Him being his own agent I think will hurt him through all of this. He doesn’t have someone who can actively gauge his market value. Lastly, I think this hurts his value. If I’m a contender, I don’t know I want a guy who’s going to give up a playoff chance for a contract. While they have some receivers hurt, their defense is in good shape and they have as good a chance as ever to make a run. Lamar doesn’t seem to care about that as much. -

I actually agree with Watkins. If it weren’t for his future contract, I think Lamar would be playing. Living here in Baltimore, there’s been some smoke to support it- 159 replies

Do we see an end of QB Mega Deals?
Virgil replied to WhitewalkerInPhilly's topic in The Stadium Wall
So long as you have desperate teams out there like the Browns, you'll always have an owner who will do something dumb to get an advantage. Think about the Raiders, Dolphins, Cowboys, Texans, Cardinals, Browns.... All teams that will just be desperate. I was proud of the Falcons and Saints for not caving to Watson's demands and letting the Browns take that bullet -
I don’t understand how our defense is rated so high. We don’t get the sacks or turnovers, and we’ve been giving up a decent share of points. Are other defenses really that bad?

I know there’s been a lot of ups and downs this season. Seriously, lesser teams would have folded up shop by now. It’s sucks to lose the one seed like we did. It hurts wondering if Von and Hyde will cost us in the playoffs. But as I see Black Monday roll around, front offices reaching out to any potential future coaches, praying they can turn their losing team around, thinking about the draft and FA, already, it makes me so appreciative for what we have. 5 years ago, our season would have started today. We would have been wishing for the next HC, draft pick, quarterback would could save us. Today, I see all these articles about interviews and players retiring, etc, and I’m just thankful. I never, EVER, doubt what we have as being elite talent and support. Is it SB worthy, maybe and maybe not. But I know we are so far ahead of 90% of the league and have the right core to keep fighting. We have the best fan base in the league, best possible QB for this team, and setup for success for years to come. Go Bills

What's The Likelihood That Gabe Davis Will Get A Contract Extension?
Virgil replied to Kangaxx's topic in The Stadium Wall
I like Gabe and he's come up big, but also hasn't done anything to establish himself as a threat that relieves pressure on Diggs. I agree that he's better lined up in the slot, but he's not a slot receiver. I let him play out his deal and see what next year does for him. Sadly, someone will pay him. He may not get Kirk money, but I could see him getting 12-15 per. -
Do we see an end of QB Mega Deals?
Virgil replied to WhitewalkerInPhilly's topic in The Stadium Wall
Watson is the only one that created a problem, but even that is perspective based. Allen and Mahomes deals will essentially be guaranteed barring injury or early retirement. Neither are being cut and will see all of their money. Any QB who doesn't fail horribly is too valuable to be let go, and typically gets their money. Wilson's deal was just poor evaluation, but a deal that most teams would have given him. Murray's deal was terrible to me, and I think to many at the time. They don't deserve and out clause. The Packers were idiots to give Rodgers that much money at his age and it may really bite them in the ass. I expect to see the trend on deals to look more like Allen and Mahomes, but they yearly average to be in the 50's. Herbert and Burrow will prove that possibly this offseason -
And has no chance of playing the Bills or Bengals in round 2. What a gift

I hope Brady comes back so Allen can beat him once

Maybe I'm the ####### here, but I just don't give a ***** about any of this. At this point, the Bills could take the L for the Bengals and forfeit the Pats game. It sucks from a football perspective and for all the hard work the players put in, but I think the players will tell you that none of this matters. Hamlin's health is literally all that matters at this point. I get that some people need to distract themselves in times like this, but I honestly feel like the majority of people talking standings are just being selfish. The football part will play itself out. But right now, it just doesn't matter. I almost wish this thread was pinned and locked, because the interest being on the wrong things is disturbing to me

Would you consider the Boogie Basham pick to be a disappointment?
Virgil replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
Shakir and Cook are still TBD. Did Beane draft Dawkins? Motor is fine, nothing more or less. I’m giving him credit for Gabe, but even that is very hit or miss and I’d say below expectations this year. No where did I say that we should not have Beane. I’m saying he hasn’t shown the same success rate at those positions to indicate the scouting prowless he has at other positions. Thanks for the correction on Dobbins. I do believe that Dobbins would have shored up the position, saved the motor, moss, and maybe Cook picks for other positions. I would gladly sacrifice AJ for Dobbins. There’s no way to know if he would have gotten injured with us
