  1. The whole offense seemed to never be on the same page. Often out of sync, rhythm, and lacking cohesion and identity. The Oline obviously has issues. No need to rehash them. The run game and run game plan was sporadic and schizophrenic. The use of Rbs in the passing game is beyond questionable. Dorsey was the main issue for a lot of the above. The pass game lost its potency. Besides Diggs the Bills had no reliable WR. The Bills WRs couldn't get any seoeration. Seemingly, the Bills WRs were always covered. Opposing defenses were all over the predictable passing scheme of the Bills. Dorsey was the main issue for a lot of the above. However, Dorsey can't only be the one to blame. Plenty goes to head coach McD for his hands off approach especially with the offense. Players play the game. Safford and Brown on the Oline were liabilities. Gabe and McKenzie are nice back ups. Brown and Beasley shouldn't be on the field. The Bills were desperate. Cook, Shakir, and Hines were underused and their skill set was mainly wasted. Coaching coaching coaching... Lastly, Allen has to be discussed. Make no mistake about it he is elite and a top 5 QB. His poor play was a result of poor coaching, game planning, and lack of weapons. As a result, Allen pressed, took reckless chances, lost some confidence, and was a turnover machine. The offensive issues were exposed in that Cinci game. All the above was clearly evident in that game. It wasn't a "one off" as presented by Beane in his presser. As Beane stated many times you are as good as your last game. The last game tells you about your weaknesses. Conveniently, Beane skirts that issue. Folks, the writing is on the wall. This team is likely to regress. With Allen, the Bills always have a fighting chance. I'd argue the chances diminish so long as the current coaching staff remains. It's clear they can't get it done in the playoffs. Six years and counting. What's going to change now?
  2. I'd try to trade Oliver and get a draft pick. Hopefully a 2nd but more likely a 3rd or 4th. No way should the Bills pay him big money. Oliver is nothing special and far too light in the bootie. He shows a flash here and there but not even close to what you want in a top 10 pick. He's serviceable but very replaceable. Not an anchor on the DL for sure. Another miss by the Bills drafting department. In fairness to them many had Oliver very highly ranked. If memory serves me right Oliver dropped to 9 and many thought he was a steal for the Bills. An after thought is the Bills drafting department. All departments can't get all their picks right. It's the nature of the business. However, the Bills dept seems to be below average in their top half of their drafts. You just can't afford to do that if you want to be a top tier team. The importance of "grand slam" hit with Allen cannot be underestimated. It sort of gives the Bills a pass. Seems like the Bills are more effective in latter round picks. Wondering if the Bills might need to revamp their drafting process? Any thoughts?
  3. I'm really starting to think this team won't even sniff a Super Bowl appearance. It's pretty clear the Chiefs and Cinci are better teams than Buffalo. Other teams like Miami, Jets, Jags, and Chargers have closed the gap. I am thinking the Dolphins may very well be a better team than Buffalo. I'm thinking this upcoming season is going to open up a lot of people's eyes.
  4. That says it all there. Stafford was terrible and Crowder got injuried as usual. What a surprise. Let's hope Beasley and Brown can add something to the roster. Meanwhile, Hodges can make an immediate impact and continue catching TD passes from Daniel Jones.
  5. It was a total team loss in every fashion. Coaches to players and players to coaches. Imho, I just can't forgive how poorly the game plan was. The Bills had a free 9 min rehearsal on the Monday night game. What on earth did they learn? What the hell was the game plan? The defensive and the offensive game plans were pathetic. The game adjustments and lack of were equally deplorable. The players from Allen to the whole defense sucked as$. They should have been booed off the field. Fans wasted their money seeing such a pathetic effort. A refund should be given to all Bills fans who attended that massacre. Of course, we Bills fans will mostly deny the facts. See the glass half full. Make excuses and cheer for the best. Next year we will likely be discussing the same issues because the team has flawed coaches and a lack of talent. Let's run it back and hope for a different result. Of course, there will be no significant injuries either.
  6. I am fine with scaling back his running. However, his legs are a huge weapon which makes it difficult on defenses. I'm fine with some timely run by design and improvised runs too. No way to I want to see Allen only as a passer.
  7. Good post Alpha. Generally, I agree with not reaching for a need. Of course if it's close between BPA fill the need. A few things that I'd like to add about the running game. I think the premise that the Bills can't effectively run the ball is incorrect. Don't agree with they can't get the tough yards in critical situations or in inclimate weather. Devin and Cook with Allen sprinkled in are a more than enough of a running game for an effective offense. In fact, stats showed the Bills average 5.1 yards a rush. Surely, it's inflated because most teams concentrated on stopping the Bills passing game. Imho, the real issue with the running game is scheme, coaching, and game planning. The offense lacked continuity, rhythm, and an identity. The running game from game to game and even quarter to quarter was erratic with a borderline personality disorder. The Bills coaches have to learn how to implement an effective running game that compliments it's passing game. We saw glimpses this year but nothing that's needed to make the Bills offense hum. In short, I just do not trust the Bills coaching staff. Way too much has been on Allen's plate since he's arrived. Certainly, he can handle most of what's given to him. However, in the playoffs that's when things go sour. Been a consistent theme for years now. Point being if the Bills got Barkely, CMC, Robinson, etc.. I doubt they would reach their ceiling in Buffalo. Coaching matters...
  8. The Bills offense scored 10 points at a home playoff game vs a decent Bengal D. No one on the Bills offense played well that game. Maybe Beasley and that say a lot about Dorsey and the Bills O.
  9. It's already too late. Fraizer is the DC for the Bills next year.
  10. I just don't think Fraizer or Dorsey are going to have a much different scheme. Edmunds isn't a game changer. He very rarely makes big plays. Never gets a turnover. He's solid and the Bills defense suffers when he's out. However, I think the Bills can find a solid replacement for way less. He doesn't deserve top dollar money.
  11. Im sure Frank Reich would have been interested. Buffalo ties and well respected in the football community. I don't really follow the available coaches. I'm confident in saying that there would be great interest in coaching Bflo. Pretty sure they could land a high quality coaching staff. Hard to say if it would be an upgrade...
  12. I don't like this mindset. The Bills shouldn't be thinking defense. Fraizer and McD have shown that their defensive scheme doesn't work in the playoffs. Neglect the defense and go all in on the offense! Load up on the OL and WRs. Give Allen the best chance to outscore teams. That's the only viable way the Bills win.
  13. The Bills averaged 5.3 yards per rush attempt. Stats don't tell the whole picture but still that's very good. Likely it's inflated due to teams concentrating on stopping the pass. Barkley would be a dynamic dual threat. A game changer for the Bills offense. Think CMC for SF. However, the Bills can't afford him, injury prone, and I highly doubt Dorsey will utilize him appropriately. So the point is pretty mute.
  14. Barkley to Bills equals Super Bowl. Get it done Beane!
  15. Guy had one good year in 5 years. That year happened to be a contract year. Real question is will he continue to play well and get even better or will he revert back to his previous 4 years of play because he got paid? Tough call.
  16. Oh I agree but I can see him taking it to another level if the team is losing amd he isn't getting the ball. Hopefully, that won't happen.
  17. He can learn under Fraizer.
  18. I heard he turned it down to go to Buffalo.
  19. Thanks for confirming my thought process is somewhat realistic.
  20. At some point the head coach has to be held accountable too.
  21. Awesome post Alpha! One of the best I've ever read on here.
  22. It's time to go all in on the offense. Build that oline and get some dynamic WRs. Let the defense fall where it falls. Spend little to no money on it. Fraizer's system is a proven loser in the playoffs. Hope the current players stay healthy and step up. Let coach McD work his defensive brain. In essence, give Allen weapons and protection. Let the offense roll. Win games in shootouts. No more relying on the defense to win games.
  23. I think Diggs is likely going to be a problem be next year. We have already seen some outbursts.
  24. I agree with an earlier post of yours where you questioned the merit and debate between the QBs. It's a nice talking point for some but in the end it's pretty insignificant.
  25. Dorsey is learning on the job. Not ideal for a team trying to make a legit Super Bowl run. His lack of experience really showed in the playoffs. Almost cost the Bills the Miami game and clearly contributed to the Bills loss to Cinci. Fraizer's scheme is not effective vs playoff quality offenses. Not ideal for a team trying to make a legit Super Bowl run. Certainly his scheme was terrible vs Cinci. The defense badly needs a change. Coach McD has one last chance to get this team over the hump. He deserves the chance but I think we all know the upcoming result. He choked away 13 seconds. His team laid an egg at home vs Cinci. He's made 6 playoff appearances with little success. Great team builder and character guy. Appreciate the man and his success. However, the Bills organization needs a change. An offensive minded coach that can run a dynamic offense. Why waste another year?More false hope. The time to make the moves are now. The status quo isn't going to get it done. Ground hog day...
