  1. I guess we'll see after a bit. I understand your POV, and you can justify it with results to date. He's not playing on as good a team or with as much run support, but I think it's possible that Davis Mills may turn out to be better. I could be delusional, but I think it's possible even Zach Wilson may turn out to be better. Or, Mac Jones could adjust to whatever it is they're trying to do on Patriots offense this season, get back to last season's form and go upward from there.
  2. Benford has no game status, meaning he is eligible to play. Nothing has been said by the coaches one way or the other. I would be surprised if they start him ahead of Elam with a brace or club on his hand. I wouldn't be surprised if he's active on gameday and plays some on ST.
  3. One kind of wonders what was going on with Tua for all that.
  4. Ah yes, "Who died?", that Gold Standard for assessing whether a workplace or operation is safe or sensible 🙄
  5. Can't argue with Sal Capaccio's keys to the game here https://www.audacy.com/wgr550/sports/bills/capaccio-bills-at-chiefs-sals-keys-notes-and-stats1?utm_campaign=sharebutton&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_term=WGRAM KEYS • Matching up with Travis Kelce • Attack Chiefs' thinner secondary • Don’t let Chris Jones wreck it
  6. Epenesa not fined or suspended for his altercation with that Hussey
  7. That chick needs a refresher on the rules of the road in her state, city, or municipality. Sick.
  8. The Panthers are not going to trade CMC for nothing. So it would cost whatever draft picks and/or players we give up to Carolina in trade. I could be mistaken, but I don't think that's how Beane operates.
  9. I'll keep looking but all the sources I check are saying Nothing, Nothing and the deadline was 90 minutes ago.
  10. TL;DR elevated: = brought up from PS for 1 game, right back afterwards. Team gets 2 per week. Player gets 3 per season. signed: get a contract for 53 man roster. need to have an open spot on 53 man roster, player needs to clear waivers if released. Week 1: No elevations. No signings Week 2: DT Brandin Bryant (1), DT CJ Brewer elevated (1). No signings. Week 3: OL Greg Mancz (1), DB Ja'marcus Ingram (1) elevated. DT Brandin Bryant, DT Prince Emili signed to the 53 man roster. S Micah Hyde to IR. Bobby Hart suspended. (after game: DT Prince Emili cut from 53 man roster, signed to PS. OL Bobby Hart activated. OL Tommy Doyle to IR, OL Justin Murray signed to 53 man. Xavier Rhodes to PS.) Week 4: DT Prince Emili (1) elevated. No signings from PS to 53 man. (after game: DT Justin Zimmer and DB Jordan Miller signed to PS. DT CJ Brewer (1) and DT Prince Emili released from PS Week 5: WR Tanner Gentry (1) and LB Giles-Harris (1) elevated. WR Isaiah Hodgins and DB Ja'marcus Ingram signed to the 53 man roster. WR Jamison Crowder to IR. DT Brandin Bryant cut. (during week: DT Brandin Bryant signed to 53 man roster, Ja'Marcus Ingram cut; S Jared Mayden signed to PS. Ingram re-signed to Practice Squad) Week 6: No elevations. No signings. Sources: Twitter Buffalo Bills PR; Buffalo Bills transactions. (note that sometimes the two disagree)
  11. To recap: No suspension for AJ Epenesa. No fine for AJ Epenesa. Hopefully the ref will be told it's not his job to contribute to situations then throw players out of the game for them.
  12. Yes, deadline is 4 pm Eastern time. It sometimes takes a while for it to come out, if the PR dudes are "up in the air".
  13. When they hang up that hat, does it cover the "Colts beat the Chiefs" hat that's hanging there? Last time I looked, Ravens and Titans had the same record as Tampa and were leading their divisions. Bit early to sort out who's who.
  14. Hmmmmm. "Stats don't lie" but what stats tell you is not always what you superficially think they will tell you. Traditionally, the Chiefs have NOT been a great run D team. #31 for Y/A last year. They are a good D for overall rush yards against because the attempts against them are low; teams get behind Big Time and turn to the pass to catch up. So far this year, Chiefs are #1 for fewest rush attempts and #3 for rush yards against their D. #7 for Y/A. That latter says, when teams do run, they're good not great. What stands out to me is that a good rushing team (the Raiders) racked up 155 yds against them (6.45 Y/A), and that with only 5 games, the average may be skewed by one game. The difference between the top SF run D and the mediocre NYJ is 43 yards per game at this point. In the Tampa Bay game, Tampa had an unbelieveable 3 rush yards on 6 carries. 6 rushes for 3 yds all game. So even a mediocre game by Tampa where they got 45 rush yards would have dropped the Chiefs down to 17th or 18th rush D for rush yards per game. I would not take home the message "the Chiefs are good at stopping the run, don't bother to try, abandon the run" and I don't think the Chiefs will take home that message either. I think when teams hold the Chiefs in check defensively and try, they can run like the Raiders and to some extent the Cardinals did. The Bills run D does not show the same "3 rush yards in one game" anomaly, BTW. Our anomaly is in the other direction, where the Ravens hit us up for 162 rush yards in a close win for us while every other team has been well under 100 - sometimes for the same reason, we got a big lead early and our opponent had to throw. But I've been cautiously impressed by how sound the Bills run D has been so far.
  15. Actually certain plays in a football game would be hysterical if commented this way. "In 26 yards you will reach your destination. Warning! Imminent collision with defender's left buttock." OK maybe I just have a warped sense of humor, but you have to imagine that in the robot voice.
  16. It might, but IMHO Pigs will Fly first. And I'd be happy to eat those words but.... Really interesting observation! He does have a "That *****in' guy!" expression. I'm 99% sure that's Chief's Nickel CB L'Jarius Sneed, one of the only returning DB and experienced players in the Chief's backfield.
  17. Agreed. The home field advantage of that Arrowhead crowd is real, just as the home field advantage is real in Orchard Park. re: calls, I don't fear the Chiefs. But I fear the Zebras. I felt they manipulated the Chiefs Raiders game, first for the Raiders and later for the Chiefs. So a counterpoint about being aggressive. I actually think both teams would like to play ball control on offense - both teams, fundamentally, to protect their relatively inexperienced secondaries. Wait Wat! Those are a Thing?
  18. I actually wonder if the (2) people asking them all the time is as true as you think. With the possible exception of Impossible Uncle JugFace who you see only at family gatherings and avoid as much as you can, I think the family and friends the athletes see every day probably ask once, hear "new year, new games, put it behind us, moving on" and respect that. With regard to the "death in the family" and "people keep bringing it up" thing....I know that for me, one of the things that was hardest about losing a beloved family member was that very few of my co-workers and friends DID bring it up. I wouldn't have wanted it harped on, but a one-time "I'm sorry about your loss" or "I heard about your ____, I'm sorry" to acknowledge that I was grieving would have helped. Having been on the other side, I think part of that is not knowing what to say, and part of that is fear of what you allude to - not wanting to subject them to people asking all the time. And the grief passes. In a month, 6 months, a year, it never goes away but we learn how to put it aside and move on. I think fans who meet players are usually more star struck or cooler than you think, they either babble about "you're great, you're a Dawg, I'm you're biggest fan!" or just chat about whatever is relevant to the venue.
  19. I think it's both more critical and easier for the players because their training and preparation affect future outcomes. We joke as fans about "what did you do to help the Bills win?" and Gameday Rituals, but at the end of the day very little we do affects the outcome - at home games our yelling helps a bit. I also think that coaches, players have to see the game far more holistically than fans do. For fans, it comes down to 13 seconds at the end. For coaches, maybe the fact that we were in it until the end and not trailing by 23 points going into the 4th Q is significant. For players, I think they've been trained since grade school that they have to look at the whole game and look at what they could have done different or better the whole game.
  20. FWIW, I’ve been told that a lot of blocking is a mental/attitude thing. Technique and timing can be taught, but the attitude and want-to have to be there. Shakir is a work in progress blocking. I’ve seen a couple beautiful blocks from him that were key to breaking a play, and I’ve seen him whiff and there went the play. McKenzie is not the guy you’d count on for lead run blocking or to block in the backfield, but he can block when he needs to. There are clips running around the interwebs where Josh motioned him over to pick up a blitzing linebacker and he absolutely neutralized him, textbook. As you’d imagine, when it’s skill vs skill he can be overwhelmed.
  21. Lil’ Dirty can block, and he’s a willing blocker, but as I commented elsewhere other things being equal he just lacks the “m” in the F = ma thing. He’s not the guy you want Allen to rely on to block in pass protection, though he’s “done the deed” and saved the play a few times when asked. Shakir’s blocking to date has been mixed. Vs the Steelers he laid down a couple of sweet blocks. He’s whiffed on some. I think it would be pretty unusual for a rookie WR to come into the league and be a totally solid blocker. He’s trying, he’s flashed, he’ll improve. Don’t worry about his take, it’s not worth it.
  22. Dude, if you troubled to go look up touches per game and yards per game, you would see that the comparison between Moss and McKenzie gets tackled for a loss And I’m not gonna dignify Your Trollishness with more depth of response.
  23. “Give a man a reputation as an early riser and he can sleep 'til noon.” - Mark Twain Mahomes didn't start until his 2nd year. Once he did start, he earned a reputation for brilliant play, resulting in >5000 yds passing and 50 TD to only 14 INTs. 9 fumbles but they only lost 2 of 'em - it paled next to the other stuff. That reputation still insulates him and influences how he's seen.
