This is a huge offseason for Brandon Beane. I’ve been big supporter of his throughout his time as GM but now he needs to make something happen. After last night, I know he has egg on his face right now gifting the Chiefs Xavier Worthy. I know the Diggs contract set him back on what he could do this past offseason but now he’s has to make something shake. The roster needs playmakers on both sides of the ball.

This is a big offseason for Brandon Beane. I have more concerns about him than McDermott. He got Diggs off the roster and took the cap hit. Now that money is gone. What he’s going to do with it? He passed on Worthy and gave KC a gift. He has to make up for it. They need a #1 WR and pass rushing help on defense. Something he still hasn’t accomplished yet.

His defenses have been good enough the last 8 years. Just not against KC. Where are the elite players on this defense?

Pass rush has to be addressed in the draft. It’s going to cost multiple first round picks to land either Crosby or Garrett. Khalil Mack is an unrestricted free agent so I would definitely look at him. Groot play this year didn’t earn him a contract extension play this year IMO. Von Miller was actually one of our best edge defenders this year but his contract is really bad for a guy only playing 30% of snaps. I would prefer Von as a DE3 over Epenesa for sure but he’s gotta restructure his deal and I don’t think he’s gonna do that two years in a row.

McDermott is an elite defensive coach. I don’t think Beane has given him enough to work with. Still missing a dominant guy on the edge and interior. They missed on Kair Elam. Beane has to do a better job on his end. I think McDermott has been forced to make chicken salad out of chicken shyt and has been successful but I think KC has proven in the playoffs that our personnel has to be better

I’m not big on Bernard I think he’s overrated. He’s undersized and he’s bad in run defense. He made a great play forcing the fumble on the Andrews in the playoffs game but prior to that he was getting blown off the ball in the run game.

It’s tough. Good thing for us our offensive line is locked up. The need a playmaker at WR. Defense they have a lot of work to do. Need to find at least two DE, 2 CB’s, Saftey, and LB. We have a lot of overrated, overpaid guys on defense. Benford, and Taron Johnson are great and Milano is injury prone and getting older. They don’t have much else after that.

The team is void of top tier talent on both sides of the ball. We lack playmakers. We haven’t hit on any of our top draft picks. I have more of an issue with Beane right now at this point than McDermott.
