Germany. Berlin, at home on the projector. My fellow Buffalonian friend is not gonna make it, so it will be me wearing headphones and jumping up and down, fist pumping etc in silence. I think it might look kinda funny through the living room windows.

I was at the game in 1994 with my best friend from high school. One of my very best memories as a fan. Thurman! Thurman! I can still hear it. The 2020 game, I watched with two friends from 12:30am to 4am German time. Upsetting but not crushing, as they were a better team at the time and more established. This time I feel cautiously confident. These Bills would beat these Chiefs 6 or 7 out of 10 times. This could be THE joyous moment after this five year run began in 2019. Go get it done, guys! Just play your game, don’t need to reach. We are here in your corner, and always will be. LET’S GO BUFFALO.

AFC Championship Game Week Thread - Bills at Chiefs

If you look at the teams this season the Bills offense is better than the Chiefs, but their defense is better than Buffalo’s played for much of the year. However, our defense seems to be ramping up, looking at the Broncos and Ravens games. On the other hand, Mahomes and Kelce are at their best in the biggest games. So is Josh, but we need excellent games out of three or four other players too. We win by two scores if so. -

I’m very happy with how far we made it.

I completely agree with the OP. That doesn’t mean it won’t hurt soemthing awful if we lose Sunday or in two weeks. But this has been a great season and we’ve developed a new level of execution and teamwork. For the record, I believe we will win this week and in two weeks, anyway. There is a separate issue however: for those of us who lived through the Super Bowl losses, it’s hard to explain how it hurt to lose them, especially the first and last—we should have won both of those. And a part of me has been waiting for peace from that all these years too. Yet, paradoxically, for the younger fans, I believe it might hurt you worse then me if we lose Sunday. Also, I find it strange that so many people KNOW that the Chiefs will always be in our way, will always have the 1 seed, etc. Meanwhile the same people say you never know if we will get back into this position. The truth is none of us know anything. Next season the Chiefs could fall off like many a dynasty before them. The Cowboys won 3 SBs in 4 years and dominated but dropped off by 1995 and never rose to the heights since. Kelce will be gone soon and Mahomes did not look as sharp this year to me… a lot more inaccurate balls and generally the Chiefs could be getting ground down by have played an extra 20 games the last five years. Or they could be 15-2 again next year. Who knows? It seems silly to pretend we do. Personally, I think the Bills are in much better position to be a dominant team going forward and for the next 3-4 years than the Chiefs. -
The best thing about the Bills’ style they’ve developed this and last season is that it’s much easier and more straightforward to execute. We aren’t trying to doing super difficult things like complete six downfield passes per drive. Even if Josh is incredible at that, it’s fool’s gold in that you can be beaten by a time who plays an easier and therefore more consistent scoring strategy. In this style there is also the benefit that the O line are the aggressors. I would bet a lot of money they much prefer playing under Brady than Daboll or Dorsey. Dawkins and Brown are showing what they can do in the run game and it is frankly scary. Coaches as experienced as Sean Payton and John Harbaugh were surprised by how powerful our run game has become. I believe we have our best chance to finally upend the Chiefs, with this strategy. Pound and grind them down in the mortar and pestle of our running game. Hit some shallow passes to Shakir and some seam balls, and a few play action daggers. If our defense, much healthier than last year, can stop two drives per half, we should win by two scores or more.
