  2. Super swell guy except for, well, you know…
  3. That’s true, and I admittedly cherry picked the stat a bit, but it’s still an impressively small list that he’s on when only 13 others qualify. My point is that you probably shouldn’t just pencil in 700 yards and 7 TDs for whatever warm body gets slotted in to replace him, particularly when another guy on that list who did it against #1 CBs just walked out the door as well.
  4. I agree with you. Just thought it was an interesting list. I’ve just never understood the amount of disrespect Gabe gets around here. The guy was the 128th pick in the draft, and has wildly outproduced any reasonable expectations. His worst season ever was 63 targets resulting in 549 yards, 6 TDs, and 8.7 yards per target. Everyone here slobbers over Kincaid who just had 91 targets resulting in 673 yards, 2 TDs, and 7.4 yards per target. And yes, Kincaid was a rookie, but he’s only 6 months younger than Gabe. When Gabe was 23, he had 93 targets for 837 yards, 7 TDs and 9 yards per target. Guys who produce at that level aren’t easy to find. When you do find them, they’re generally much more expensive in terms of salary and/or draft capital than what Davis was.
  5. Yeah, he’s not an elite WR2, but he’s certainly top half. Since he’s been in the league, Davis has 2,730 yards receiving and 27 TDs. Here is a list of WRs who have as many yards and TDs as he does over that span: Tyreek Hill Ceedee Lamb AJ Brown Stefon Diggs Davante Adams Adam Thielen Jamar Chase Tyler Lockett Mike Evans Amari Cooper Justin Jefferson DK Metcalf Cooper Kupp
  6. Last season, Gabe had the 41st most yards and 17th most TDs of any WR in the league. In 2022 he had the 30th most yards and 12th most TDs. That is high end WR2 production.
  7. Plus not many teams/CBs even play press coverage. It’s basically a non-issue.
  8. He wasn’t a bust at all. He had a 9 year career with 5400 yards, 34 TDs, and was the leading receiver in the 2019 postseason en route to a Super Bowl. He was a good player who was overdrafted.
  9. Totally agree. Marvin Harrison Sr. was the same way.
  10. I get the impression that Hurts is similar to Russell Wilson in that he’s probably a pretty good person but not really a great teammate. He just doesn’t seem to have it as a leader. On a different note, congrats to the author of this article for spelling several words correctly. I’m assuming English is his 15th language.
  11. Yeah. He’s one of the rare coaches who have both won it all with a franchise QB and been consistently competitive when he doesn’t have one.
  12. I think McDermott is an excellent coach. Tomlin is one of a very few coaches I could understand letting him go over.
  13. This is why you always call “no Clapp backs”.
  14. Weird list. The Jayhawks just won the national title two years ago.
  15. I stepped in some gum earlier today. I wonder if I could scrape it off my shoe and trade it for a third round pick.
  16. Is your expectation that the Bills won’t have injuries in the future but other teams will?
  17. Are they, though? There are 32 teams in the NFL. The WR with the 64th highest yardage total last year had 540 yards. Everyone seems to think that an average WR2 has 900 yards, but that’s just not the case. In reality, there were fewer than 32 WRs who reached that mark.
  18. Why would the value be at RB? There was literally one RB in the league last year that really mattered. The next 10 best were effectively indistinguishable from one another.
  19. Kind of. There’s only one pick every 10 minutes in the first round, so it’s about 1 minute of action followed by 9 minutes of milling around. Then by day 3, the picks are just flying by and nobody really cares until it’s their own team. If you were in the seats of a stadium, it would be nonstop people getting in and out of the aisles. It’s an event much better suited for a festive style layout than a sporting event. That doesn’t even get into the issue of having controlled entry points for 200,000 people.
  20. It would have to be. Doing it inside the stadium would be a disaster. It’s not the type of event that lends itself to sitting in one place.
  21. They were all California kids who grew up in wealthy areas, went to elite High Schools, and were groomed since adolescence to be the next big thing. Look at Matt Leinart and Mark Sanchez’s careers since they left USC. Both were terrible in the pros but went on to get gigs in the studios because they had the looks and the pedigrees.
  22. I actually agree with you, but you’ve got to understand that the move will be judged entirely with the benefit of hindsight in the event that Josh gets injured. If I were designing the organizational philosophy, it would involve having Josh run around like a madman until he either gets injured or wins a title. Would it shorten his career? Probably, but that’s a price I’d be willing to pay in order to bring a parade to WNY.
