The Lesson in the Sabres Horrendous Season
Greg S replied to IronyAbounds's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Rangers started play in 1926. In 95 years they have only 4 Stanley Cups(worst among all original 6 teams) and 3 of those were won before expansion. So 1 Cup in 95 years post expansion. Their coach David Quinn is in his 3rd year and they still haven't made the playoffs. They will probably miss again this year. Rangers fans think they have a Yankees history and tradition when in reality they are more like the Jets/Mets. Don't know where you are getting "highly successful" from. -
The Lesson in the Sabres Horrendous Season
Greg S replied to IronyAbounds's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Sabres haven't made the playoffs in 10 years or so. The Bills have made it in 3 of the last 4 seasons and appear to be getting better. The Bills have a solid management team with Beane and McDermott. The Sabres do not. You can't compare the two organizations. -
Agree. Besides Beane always said he puts a priority on resigning his own FA's and he has. We still have the draft as a way to improve the team. 13-3 and with a bright future. We should be optimistic. That's not to say the Bills don't have areas they can improve on because they do. Coming off a 13-3 season with a bright future means their should be exciting times ahead with this team.

It was a few years ago but they did a behind scenes documentary with the Brady Bunch. It was Christopher Knight and Eve Plumb who "hooked up" not Greg Williams and Maureen McCormick. Robert Reed hated the show but loved the cast. He was always arguing with the producer/director because he thought the story lines were terrible. He stayed with the show because of the cast.

Saleh was a good DC with SF. His players ran thru a wall for him. He had a very good year last year considering all the players they lost on that side of the ball. Can he make the transition to being "the guy" in charge of everything. We shall see but it's hard to see him not being a major improvement over Gase. I hope he fails but I think he will get a real chance (3 years) to turn around the Jets.

I Don’t Understand Washington Football Team Not Picking New Name

This would work or Redtails. Something along these lines. Keep the word "RED" in the name. WFT is weak. -

When this name change stuff first happened I thought they were going to go with Redtails. Close to the Redskins name. -

The Caps should change their name to Washington Hockey Team and the Nats to the Washington Baseball Team. -

Bill tossing his phone on the sidelines during that MNF game was a highlight for me. -

To be fair the best coach is in NE. We would all love it if McDermott could accomplish half of what Bill has. That said the Bills should win the division. Best QB and one of the best rosters in the league. To be fair the best coach is in NE. We would all love it if McDermott could accomplish half of what Bill has. Joe Douglas didn't draft him and they have a new coaching staff. It does make sense if they want to move on from Darnold and start over. They would get Wilson/Fields on a rookie deal. They might not want to pick up the option of Darnold. Plus he sucks. Ask any Jets fan. I have seasons to the Jets so I have seen him plenty. He sucks.
-
Darnold is terrible. He was making the same mistakes last year that he was in his rookie year. Granted he was a crap team and Gase sucked as a HC but he has to share some of the blame. Look at how Allen has progressed. Yes he is on a better team but Josh worked extremely hard to improve his game. That is what his coaches and teammates say. The game has slowed down for Josh. For Darnold it looks like it hasn't.

They are the owners. At the end of the day they could fire Beane and McDermott if they wanted to so they will always have control. Obviously that is not going to happen since the team is doing very well. They should be happy with Beane and McDermott and try to find the right people to do the same for the Sabres. If I were the owner I would want to win. I would want qualified people making decisions who could help the teams win. Winning sells tickets and winning helps the Pegula's make money with their teams. Seems like an easy decision to me.
-
They Sabres are a bad team but this division only schedule is making it worse. This division is stacked with good teams.
-
You would think the Pegula's would be smart enough to look at what the Bills and Sabres have done and realize its in their best interests to GTFO of the way.

What position you feel we need the most.

Edge. Watching the AFCCG was a painful reminder of that. -
It's amazing that they were able to get it right with the Bills. I just hope they leave Beane and McDermott alone and don't "F" things up with the Bills. I am not a Sabres fan (Isles fan here) but I really hope they can get it right for the Sabres fans sakes. For the longest time the Isles were run like a **** show and it sucks for the fans to deal with.

He is an upgrade over Barkley. I wouldn't want him as the starter but for a backup this is a good move.

That's because he probably got hurt playing chess.
