  1. A vet who is proven at the NFL level? Stef Diggs was a locker room malcontent brought in for our our own developing QB.
  2. Fair enough. I guess I’m not as high on Rousseau’s pass rush potential as y’all are. Imo, I could easily see Rousseau playing 70+% of snaps and still be a 6 or 7 sack guy. Sometimes the edge rush light never comes on for these guys.
  3. 100%. He is a bigger Gabe Davis with injury history.
  4. Trying to salvage their #1 pick QB. They could have the best or the worst defense in the league. It doesn’t matter if Bryce is a failure. Surround the kid with weapons, forget spending on defense and try to turn the kid into a star.
  5. Less than zero interest.
  6. Let the Dolphins be the dopes who think signing top STers matters. I’d like my backups corners to be able to play corner.
  7. Ya’ll keep saying it “clearly would” when the only evidence is speculation. There’s loads of player who played more snaps and had worse sack totals. Especially in a guy who hasn’t proven much as a reliable pass rusher.
  8. Because I don’t believe that if Greg gets 20% more snaps, he is guaranteed to get 20% more sacks.
  9. Yeah if he produces more he will get paid. But that’s a stretch of projection, imo.
  10. I don’t agree that numbers just go up the more you play. Leonard Floyd had more sacks last year with less playing time than the year before. It doesn’t work that way. Brian Burns has proven much more as a pass rusher than Greg, imo.
  11. What. Rapp can’t play BOTH safety positions. And I said I like him, so I clearly agreed with the FO decision to bring him back. Is it happy hour where you’re from?
  12. Trade up for Cooper DeJean and let Bills land explode.
  13. I just told you. Poyer, Rapp, Hyde. Read the post before you start blowing a gasket
  14. You should have also listed your magical fifth round rookie that you can’t name. NFL stats 0 tackles 0 QB hits 0 FF 0 FR 0 INT. Poyer (he barely played IIRC) Rapp Hyde I like Rapp a lot. I think he needs to get his discipline coached up a little bit but I have a feeling he’s firmly entrenched as a starter. I just want another vet that can be his Micah Hyde, instead of the next Damar Hamlin or Jaquan Johnson.
  15. I forgot about Todd! Even still, I don’t know if this class has that oomph. We’ll see. I think 4 is likely, and 5 is possible, but 6 seems like a lot. Someone of Nix/Penix/JJ will fall.
  16. You want them to bring in a couple vets like they did with Poyer and Hyde? That’s crazy! How did that work out? - you, arguing to not bring in veteran safeties.
  17. Oof that’s a white flag. Jaquan is out of the league. He couldn’t beat out anyone, anywhere. I’m sorry for being a Pats fan because I would like them to bring in a vet S in free agency. I’m such a monster!
  18. you understand you just made my point for me? They found two All-Pro’s for 7 years. By bringing in guys who had played in the NFL as UFAs. Not by drafting fifth rounders. Which is what I’m arguing for lmao. I watched Damar Hamlin play, and Jaquan Johnson before him, and the other bums that we’ve drafted over the years to backup Poyer and Hyde. None of them were good. In fact, the only S that has been worth anything was Rapp, who was a UFA last year. Harder to destroy your own argument than what you just did. If that wasn’t intentional, woof.
  19. Shakir can twinge an ankle or a hamstring and be minimally effective for an entire year.
  20. We shall see. I think Penix to Seattle is in play. Crazy bet. Have 6 QB’s ever gone in the first?
  21. I do so enjoy discussing paying Greg Rousseau for a potential 9.5 sack per year average, when the guy has never had more than 8 sacks ever.
  22. I think we had a better chance of success with a UFA S who has started in the NFL AND a fifth round rookie S, over just a fifth round rookie S expected to start. But hey, Matt Milano. I guess you disagree.
  23. This is correct and like you, I am very confused. I would rather have gotten a young starter quality S in FA at a decent contract and then fill in the 49-53 spots after the draft and we see what shakes out. the whole FA period has been odd. Retaining an old 32 DT and a rotational DE. I thought we were gonna get younger and/or cheaper. it’s far too close to “running it back” to my liking.
  24. Yeah that’s why I’m sick
