  1. So the Chargers found a way to get their multiple slots involved last night. Keenan Allen at 24 was a slot guy, he certainly still is at 34. Ladd is still a slot guy. We talk all the time about where some of our WRs are best suited or can differently attack a defense. What did you notice about how the Chargers got Allen and Ladd both involved and can the Bills and Brady use any of that to give the offense some different wrinkles with Keon getting some snaps at big slot, etc?
  2. We did it with the Chiefs the last two years in a row. I will be happy with any loss on their schedule. They are not dead until they are buried and eliminated.
  3. Hey I was probably the most dissenting to voice to you a year ago or so. I still thought the negatives outweighed the positives when it came to making a change. No longer lol
  4. There's lots of factors. But really it comes back to breaking the drought and a lack of perspective to the rest of the NFL. The ones most ardently defending McD think that this era, winning the division every year, playoffs every year, etc etc started because of what happened on December 31st 2017. The folks engaging against them recognize, correctly, this era is the direct result of the decision made on April 26th 2018. That's why there's a visceral reaction to anything to the contrary. They truly believe McD is the lynchpin to the whole operation. They don't want to move on without a "guarantee" the next guy could do better. because they think without McD, we fall back in 20 years in the basement of the division while Justin Fields and Drake Maye and Tua just can't stop winning the AFCE. I'm not even being facetious. You are arguing a return to potentially being a poverty franchise to them, and that was miserable for all Bills fans.
  5. None of this matters. It doesn't matter the games are close and a play or two different makes a difference. The bottom line is if the defense didn't allow the KC offense to play one of their best offensive games of the year, every year, we would win most of those games. And that hasn't changed. They punked our defense when they had elite HoF players in 2020. Okay, well, they can't keep up that talent level forever. And the last two years, they haven't. They've been mediocre offensively ALL YEAR. And when they play us, they turn into the greatest show on turf. And we lose a close ones separated by a handful of plays, instead of winning going away with a reasonable defensive performance. If that isn't going to be enough for people at 0-4, we will see if it is enough at 0-5. Look for KC scoring their highest point total of the season or close to it, again, vs the Bills.
  6. To hear this discussed, again, apparently McD is all that holds us back from going back to the drought while the Dolphins or Pats or Jets become the new AFCE dynasty, and the only coach they would even consider replacing McD with needs to have won multiple SB's and also be available for the Bills to hire and guarantee the Bills win a Super Bowl instantly otherwise its too big of a risk. I get it. If I believed all those things, I wouldn't ever want a change either.
  7. Time to spearhead the cause for McBeane statues.
  8. Outside leverage with a post and no safety in the middle is not ideal for a DB. DB's don't decide the cushion they give a player within reason. Road sodas continues to be terrible.
  9. Name the team and elite QB for each team that this has ever happened to in the last 25 years.
  10. Nah, think McDermott is a very good coach. Jordan won his first ring and beat the Pistons by 27 years old. I think if Phil Jackson lost to the Pistons 5 straight years in the playoffs while Jordan was winning MVPs, he'd probably have been fired. FYI, the Bulls fired Doug Collins after the second Pistons loss and the Bulls went on to win 6 championships. Probably the worst example to point out?
  11. Okay. Do you think that McD can go 0-10 vs the Chiefs in the playoffs and never make a SB but as long as we win the AFCE and 11+ games every regular season, he's "coach for life?" Ultimately, that's still being extremely good every year, right? If so, respect that take. Disagree with it but we know where you stand.
  12. McD gets to be coach for life because he squeaked into the playoffs once almost 10 years ago and the reason he doesn't have more feathers in his cap since then is because the entire league is conspiring against him is a pretty incredible take.
  13. This is the ultimate week 1 is a liar game folks.
  14. I think you mean more valuable? I find the whole topic interesting because I think there's a moneyball market efficiency there somewhere. Saquon who for sake of example is clear cut RB1 in the NFL. He had a ridiculous 5.8 YPC on 345 carries and 6.5 YPT on 43 targets. That puts his usage rate at 388 balls given Saquon's way, at a 5.9 yards per. Chase, let's call him WR1, had 9.8 yards per target. 1.6x more efficient than Saquon. Chase is making $40M AAV. Saquon is making $20M AAV. So despite Chase not quite being twice as efficient as Saquon, he makes twice as much. Now, factored into that price point is youth, upside, and longevity. I think there's some way to manipulate the numbers so that paying a player like Cook is a better value than signing a mid-tier FA WR.
  15. If you want a better comparison, it would be James Cook YPC averaged with his yards per target vs a receivers' yards per target. The point still stands that the 30th-40th best WR is more efficient on a touch/target basis than a top 6ish RB. Which is why Shakir makes more than Cook.
  16. Shakir averaged 10.6 yards per touch. Cook averaged 5.3 yards per touch. Basically, a Shakir touch is twice as efficient as a Cook touch. It's a simple math equation. You are better off giving Jamar Chase 100 touches than Saquon Barkley 200 touches. So Jamar makes twice as much as Saquon.
  17. If you do it over the last 3 years, I think you'd find it much more interesting.
  18. We’ve never had the horses on the DL. The last SB caliber DL in Buffalo was in 2014.
  19. Last years defense wasn’t close to statistically dominant.
  20. Yeah the SB was the perfect storm. The Eagles front played the game of their lives and Mahomes/Reid got completely flustered. It’s not really dissimilar to the Bills performance vs the Bengals in the playoffs. Just one of those days where nothing goes right.
  21. Today I learned two QBs passing a total of 47 times for 381 yards is a shootout
  22. Sure we can. Just believe the next defensive draft class is gonna make the difference. Despite the last defensive draft class barely being allowed to play last year. Just give them another mulligan! Bills fans have no choice but to enjoy the wacky ride. Other teams fans don’t.
  23. Meh, it’s the same reason Adrian Peterson is remembered so fondly. Those guys were 1 man offenses on teams with much less star power than the 90s Bills. It’s just cannibalism of nostalgia. How many players can the average fan name from those teams
  24. Yeah, it’s the reason why expectations should be tempered for an Elijah Moore. Guys who bounce around multiple teams rarely put it all together on their fourth or fifth stop. Not saying it can’t happen, but it’s unlikely.
