  1. Really not sure that’s true but that’s okay, opinion noted.
  2. Someone may not think Tua/Purdy/Lawrence/Geno or Kyler are franchise QBs. For some the list may be 20 or for some the list may be 12.
  3. Not sure if computing. No one says Marty was great because he’s 8th in total wins. This is a strawman to no one in particular. No one thinks McD can carry Shula’s jock so why even bring it up? The rest of your post basically boils down to “McDermott found/developed Josh so even if he is carried hard by Josh and is the reason Josh doesn’t have a SB ring yet, it’s okay because he found him”
  4. What list? Does anyone understand the question lol
  5. What independent reporting have you done to dispute The Athletics’ article?
  6. FWIW, Brandon Beane didn't interview with the Bills until after the draft, and was one of a couple candidates interviewed. I know the suspicion is that he knew and was tipping picks to McD but do we know that's true?
  7. I think Murray is actually the answer as the worst franchise QB in the NFL. I did forget to put him. To your list I would probably shuffle around Baker/Stroud which would put him near the bottom, (every other QB near there has been mentioned in this topic).
  8. It can be your own definition. You can think the worst guy worth franchise QB money. The worst guy who can lead a team to a Superbowl. Whatever. The only way to get this answer wrong is to name a player you don't think is a franchise QB, like everyone is doing lol. You can say "Dak Prescott is a franchise QB but he's flawed because X, Y and Z, and that's why he's the worst franchise QB" You have missed the point if you say "My answer is Dak Prescott because he isn't a franchise QB."
  9. Do you think Lawrence is franchise?
  10. The point of the conversation is that the last guy is supposed to be legit and a franchise QB.
  11. Baker has been awesome, but I don't think it's a slight or unfair to say that QB's worse than him aren't worth paying/aren't franchise. Heck, Baker took 19th best QB in the NFL money just last year. You can be better than Derek Carr or Andy Dalton and still be the last of the franchise QBs. It just means the tide has risen imo. Darnold feels like he's not it because his career is filled with very bad years. He's more of a 1 year wonder than a franchise QB at this point imo.
  12. @PromoTheRobot isn't sure Joey Bosa has signed with the Bills, he hasn't seen the contract himself yet. He's waiting for more evidence.
  13. I always find this discussion really interesting. Most fans of the NFL agree with their top 5-10 QB's, in varying orders. We also all agree largely on the guys who stink or are just unknown. But who is the new Andy Dalton or Derek Carr in the NFL? The guy who is the "last' of the franchise QBs. IMO, some of the contenders are: Geno Purdy Tua Baker Lawrence
  14. I mean, can you imagine if we win 10+ games every year and don't win a Super Bowl? What a waste.
  15. The most telling thing to me about Beano was I personally felt he was trying to distance himself from McD in 2023. If that 2023 team didn't rally from 6-6, I think Beane throwing McD under the bus to save himself was definitely on the board. Now maybe that's business as usual, and maybe it would be deserved, but imo Beane deserves just as much blame as McD for our struggles to reach the mountaintop. He does dominate the local media in a way that pretty much every other NFL market does not. The Bills, and maybe not even just Beane, did a very concerted effort to cull negative reporting and internal leaks. Not necessarily a bad thing, but Beane really cultivated the messaging out the Bills that we are a professional, well-run, buttoned-up organization by squeezing anyone out who may have disagreed. Never forget Beano paying La'el Collins $1.5M to show up to camp from his previous PS stints and just flushing it down the tubes.
  16. Add him to the "I never met Lincoln before so I'm not sure he REALLY was a President" list.
  17. Bills being 5th is kinda bizarre tbh. Rousseau and Oliver are plus starters but not superstars. Is this based on rookies?
  18. Aw poor Beane, having to deal with the tough gestapo-controlled Buffalo media who have fawned over him for like 8 years.
  19. I don’t know why folks say that Buffalo has never won a championship, I won our beer league last year. I think it’s not a stretch to say that the Buffalo region isn’t financially prepared to support the Sabres if they are terrible. Habs are clearly a much better franchise but even at 3 straight bottom of the conference finishes, they led the league in attendance in 23-24.
  20. That’s a good way to phrase it. Coaches I would trade for McD straight up: Reid McVay Shanny Campbell KOC LaFleur Payton I’m actually kinda lower on Harbaugh and Tomlin than others, they are right in McDs class imo. To me, the guys I listed above have elevated their teams beyond their QB. You could argue that Tomlin has, and you’d have a point, but I think he’s more of a floor raiser than a ceiling raiser. Sirianni is the perfect example of why saying “McD is great because he has a great winning percentage” is invalid. He has the best winning percentage in football currently, without one of the very best QBs, and we all agree he isn’t close to the best coach in football.
  21. You got bamboozled. its not unheard of around the league. It’s in a lot of contracts. It just hasn’t been in the BENGALS.
  22. Are you seriously asking why Terry’s results in professional leagues matters more than rec leagues?
  23. Do you consider Lamar better than Josh? I like Lamar a lot, and I think he’s a force, but I think he’s got some real Achilles heel type stuff that holds him back compared to Josh. so I don’t personally think the Ravens have ever played the bills in the playoffs with a QB advantage. I think the opposite. Don’t you?
