1. Allen doesn't speak ill of people so whether he really wanted Coleman or was just being polite is uncertain.
2. QB's don't necessarily know what they need. They may want a receiver even when their skill set is not a good fit for them. Greg Cosell talked about Allen needing his receivers to be able to "flash" that they're open.
3. I hope we don't overpay for Thomas or any player.
Beane didn't need to get us a #1, he just needed a Don Beebe, John Brown, etc. He won't admit he was wrong, yet if it comes down to preserving his job, he will overpay for a receiver.
Is there any indication that McDermott took over defensive play calling in the 2nd half or was this still Babich? If McDermott took over Babich is on the hot seat.
I don't dislike Keon at all. I dislike the fact that Beane thought he was the type of receiver you draft that high to pair with Allen. Contested catch = not open. There will be games where matchups will basically take Keon out as an option.
