  1. I don't think the frequency of their blitzes was an issue; I think the unwillingness to blitz like they meant it is an ineffective half-measure that compromises the secondary with no real payoff. If you're going to roll the dice, then step up and roll the dice. If you're not willing to gamble for real, then don't ante up with pennies.
  2. But we have seen them do it against certain teams before, particularly when playing with a lead. So it's not like it's new hat to them. They have those packages available if they are willing to use them. I hope to see them more willing to do so as Milano gets his feet under him. With Allen as your QB, they don't have to work at a high rate for them to be a net positive, imo.
  3. I think he's been significantly better the last 2-3 games. But I would like to watch you give it a try!
  4. Actually I was referring more to your suggestion to push DB's closer to the LOS, attack the short areas and try to force the issue in the secondary even at the risk of getting beat over the top. As for the blitzing issue, those "blitzes" the Bills were running Sunday were half-measures that had virtually no chance to get home. You want to make Stafford uncomfortable, sending a 5th rusher every once in a while because you're afraid of getting beat up top isn't going to cut it. Throw two up the A-gaps, crash him with the Nickel and a 'backer from both edges. The price for failure is lessened when your offense is being run by the best QB in the world. Oh, and neutralize is spelled with a "z", Tommy
  5. Being unwilling to take chances and push the envelope with your defensive alignments when your offense has a QB that is liable to score every freaking time he has the ball is chicken-hearted. If you give up the occasional deep shot because you were too aggressive, oh well; you've just given the ball back to Josh Allen sooner than he would have had it.
  6. Weird but useless fact; I've never been in a Denny's. (Or a Denny)
  7. Figured we better have fun now before Denny finds out
  8. I'd sign up to play every kaiju on Monster Island if it got us into the AFCCG.
  9. Denny is going to be pissed
  10. As much as Jeff Bridges crushed it I was totally blown away by Hailey Steinfeld; she was an absolute scene stealer. One of the few movies I've ever rented more than once it was so well done.
  11. Johnson, Allen and Cook are about .5 ypc apart in that order; it's not a QB stat. It's a rushing success stat. One of several. If you think this OLine's blocking has been abysmal, I'll just thank you for the confirmation that you aren't really watching them.
  12. This is nonsense. He's made a bunch of plays vs the run over the last several weeks.
  13. He got pushed around a lot if that counts.
  14. I'm talking about the Bills secondary struggling and the Rams coach taking advantage of it. What are you reading about?
  15. They are 9th in the NFL in rush yrds/game They are 7th in the NFL in ypc They are 2nd in the NFL in rushing TDs Do some of you people even watch the games before you throw nonsensical stuff out there?
  16. Then you are simply not watching. I don't think there is a team in the entire league that has a greater differential between points allowed the in the first half and second half.
  17. I agree and think the root cause of the problem is McDermott's limited flexibility.
  18. But how do you sleep in the office? With one eye open, I hope.
  19. Are you sure the mystery has been solved? Ask yourself why she put the filing cabinet there.
  20. I assumed the Steelers beating the Ravens would give them the common opponents edge. I guess that's why they say that about "assume".
  21. If I don't stop crying in the next two minutes, I will hunt you down.
  22. I'd guess that the linchpin is probably the Steelers/Ravens game.
  23. I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that not saying goodbye isn't her primary beef.
  24. It says our defense is a problem. If they can't hold a zone together any better than that, they will get eaten alive in the playoffs.
  25. So when Stafford was throwing those quick little tunnels that you just said are a blueprint, exactly how long do you think he was holding the ball? Would 0.7 seconds have been more accurate? The Rams were getting the ball out on time for most of the game yesterday and frequently making the pass rush irrelevant. The Bills secondary was constantly confused and totally incapable of handling the route combinations McVay was throwing at them. As fast as the Rams WR's were coming open, you could have had Mario Williams, Kyle Williams, Pat Williams and Leonard Williams out there and it wouldn't have made much difference.
