  1. I don't care about a bunch of numbers; that was one of the finest displays of genuine leadership you'll ever see from a Bills QB. Whether he was laying himself open to pick up first downs, being the first guy down the field to pick Motor up after a strong run, talking his OLine up and getting multiple guys chugging 15-20 yards downfield hunting targets, or keeping his head high and continuing to attack the next play no matter what had happened on the last. Even when things were going sideways, he still had every guy on the field playing their ass off on every down; and he does it with his ass and not his mouth, which is the only way to sustain it. When you can get chill muther*****ers like Ed Oliver and Daryl Williams wanting to run through walls for you, You Are The Man.
  2. He's not bad when he's just putting his superior talent into position to make plays instead of trying to outsmart everybody. The problem is that he just can't help himself and McDermott has to put a harness on him and plant his feet every few weeks. I want coach concentrating on doing his job, not worrying about having to figure out how to rein in a key assistant at any given moment. I'm just not convinced the current model is set up for sustainable long term success.
  3. 'Preciate you doing all these; it's been a great addition to the board! Thought you might get a chuckle out of this: Why not to type right after a game
  4. Careful what you wish for.......
  5. I'm right with you. With Star and Butler certainly on the way out the door, Harry is a must-keep so they can devote their available resources to the OLine.
  6. Today in the first half, he ran down a WR 9 yards downfield to prevent a first down.
  7. You can't coach that!
  8. The more money he has, the worse it gets.
  9. A rich man's Brad Smith
  10. Another Brad Smith?
  11. When opposing ballplayers show a guy as much respect as Patterson seems to get from opponents, you know there's something there.
  12. I don't think it perfectly solves any significant problems, but maybe it makes the occasional team give somebody a better game late in the season instead of hosting Sunday tryouts because an L helps them more than a W. Probably wouldn't make much of a real difference in draft position but it might be a bit more entertaining even if its just because its an alternate procedure.
  13. I think pride and a certain amount of self-delusion keep most football teams competitive for at least 3/4 of any given season, no matter their objective situations. Where I do think it might help is teams going all out to win late in the season, if their draft position is already set. Maybe a few less examples of some teams getting free rides in Week 15/16 because they were lucky enough to draw a team that had negative incentive to win.
  14. I like this one
  15. Yes he did; knocked them right out of FG range with those 3 plays and completely flipped the game. Jacked up the LG on 1st down for a 3yrd loss. Split a double for a sack on 2nd down for another 4 yrd loss. Then hit Ryan again and forced the incompletion on 3rd down to turn the Falcons coach into a wilting pansy. That's a man who knows when to crank up the ass-kicking machine
  16. He may have saved the Division title for us today.
  17. yes he played plenty of snaps, but was just another guy today
  18. I know it wasn't pretty at times, but he displayed the leadership of a 10 year vet in the second half and made everybody around him better today.
  19. He would have lasted about 4 minutes under McDermott
  20. Yes, they will. So if we knock them out first, is it "prevenge"?
  21. He was a problem in that locker room for years before Burfict hit him.
  22. Him and PacMan Jones cost them 30 yrds of penalties that put Pittsburgh into game-winning FG range with like 20 seconds left in a playoff game that the Bengals were about to win. Arguably the stupidest thing I have ever seen on an NFL field in 50 years.
  23. He's been a headcase for longer than that
  24. That 3 play series after Allen's last pick where he pushed Atlanta out of FG range with two plays for losses and a forced incompletion totally flipped this game.
  25. Somewhere in Buffalo A custodian goes unsung Slipping home quietly after saving the Bills from being undone He kept at his work as the Bills prospects waxed colder And his continual efforts found him Greg Roman's old folder Relentless and silent He breached Daboll's high perch And slipped his new prize within reach of that jerk And lo and behold We saw traps and men pulling As the Bills waning prospects were asudden returning So drain a glass for that man and his yeoman-like work For aside from his efforts we'd be tearing our shirts
