  1. Yeah, I thought the change was pointless and confusing at the time because there were no real issues with the rule as it was. But somebody's point about them wanting to introduce sensors on the lines and the pylon is a good point, it sounds like the kind of overproduction that the league loves.
  2. If you did that and never actually went down while staying in bounds in the endzone the whole time, I'm not sure what they would do. But if the ball is outside the pylon when you go down in the endzone or OB in the endzone, they won't call it a TD anymore. A few years ago they would have (because of the infinite goalline), but it changed at some point in the last 2-3 years.
  3. Maybe he should sue Alabama's LG instead.
  4. I've seen a couple recently where they haven't called it a TD because the ball was outside the pylon even though it clearly broke the plane while the runner was in bounds. In order for a pass to not cross at least a piece of the pylon, the QB's arm would also have to be way outside the OB line on the sideline. That's something that I cannot imagine any referee would ever even consider introducing into a call equation.
  5. "Star" is relative to the viewer I suppose, but he is indeed one hell of a ballplayer.
  6. This is the crux of that particular debate. Although they have changed it in the past couple years. It used to be that a ball carrier could break that infinite plane outside the pylon, but now it has to be at the pylon or inside. On a pass play it's always considered to be within the pylons because it's almost impossible for a QB to throw a completed pass where the ball doesn't go over part the pylon.
  7. It sort of came out of his mouth like that but it was kind of garbled. I thought he was trying to say that if his right foot is on the endline with the ball in his right hand it's a TD, implying that this meant the ball had touched the plane of the goalline.
  8. It's not a dad bod, it's a "father figure"
  9. Sorry to hear that, man; hope it all works out.
  10. Glad you had fun, but the second you turned your phone on, you f'ed it up, not your Dad. Next time, just leave it at home. You'll probably survive a few hours without it.
  11. It's just a Fire call. On an interception return, go hunt up the QB. Cam Heyward also No, that looked gruesome even before the whistle blew
  12. You're just getting rid of the unnecessary things in your life
  13. Well, that was a short season. 🤷‍♂️
  14. I should have unpinned this thing 15 minutes after it was pinned.
  15. Has anybody called him Scooter yet?
  16. I just walked out of the room briefly and think I missed a 20 second 0 yrd drive.
  17. I won't dispute any of that, but the defensive coach on the opposing sideline has some history of doing that to even good QBs.
  18. He fired the biggest milquetoast coach in the NFL and replaced him with the most gutless wonder in the NFL.
  19. It wasn't just Donald. Rick had a rough night.
  20. I don't think it has anything to do with prving anything. I just don't think it's acceptabel for one person to tell another they are not allowed to do what brings them joy any more. What if your love has always been fishing? Is it OK for somebody to tell you your not allowed to go fishing any more? What's next, she'll tell him he's not allowed to play golf any more? That stuff is just wrong, imo.
  21. I disagree with this. No woman should ever tell a guy when to stop doing what he loves. If she doesn't like being married to a ballplayer, she has nobody to blame but herself.
  22. Daquon Jones, Tim Settle, and Boogie now as an End? Those are some significant upgrades in run defending capability
  23. I think they were just trying to get a play off before the opposing coach had a chance to look at Julio's catch closer.
