  1. Next year he will only be eligible for the regular practice squad (or make the team, or just be cut.)
  2. exactly. Rarified air Allen is finding himself in this year. And yet not enough for some - you just MUST conclude Allen is THE BEST and no others can even compare currently. It’s silly isn’t it?
  3. Looks like most everyone had a mask on at least. Knew there was a contingent of fans that were going to go down there no matter what. Hope everyone had fun and the players definitely appreciated it 👍
  4. that’s fantastic - a dynamic pass-catching back is probably the most valuable type of rb in today’s NFL. Still no 1st round pick, even if we pick 32 😉. Outlandish college production doesn’t mean much either nowadays. has CEH been worth the 1 the chiefs used on him? Maybe...I’d argue probably not.
  5. Never spend a round 1 pick on a running back in a passing league.
  6. so if i am reading that correctly, @Epictetus is right - the worst seed is 4 obviously with the division win but nothing above 4 has been eliminated, including the bye and the 1 seed.
  7. all the more reason not to listen or watch ESPN, which was my larger point. You or the other poster i was replying to may be reading what he said in different ways, I respect both. I refuse to check it out myself but you’re both probably right.
  8. Yes i agree - currently (i.e., last month or so) and actually looking at both their aggregate performances across the whole season, I can’t put Josh below Mahomes. I wouldn’t put him above Mahomes either, but that’s just me. I’ll put it this way - I wouldn’t trade Allen for any other QB in the league right now. Including Mahomes. I didn’t feel that way at the end of October.
  9. i can’t and won’t because i don’t support espn unless the Bills are playing on monday night. So i’m not looking up the clip but based on what you said if hasselbeck is drawing comparisons between mahomes’ and allen’s development he’s welcome to do so and there are valid comparisons to be made. Their development from a mechanics POV may be similar. From a results standpoint the nod still goes to Mahomes hands down.
  10. fantastic then he said nothing wrong or inaccurate. Surprising, but welcome news. ESPN is still terrible.
  11. One of those useful mod-stickied threads explaining the NFL international pathway program may be in order.
  12. That’s the good stuff Shaw thanks. I do hope they go hard and stomp the Pats; not caring as much about the Dolphins game unless there’s crucial seeding at stake.
  13. which is fantastic in more ways than one - besides getting him back, packages and plays featuring Brown haven’t been shown in weeks. More surprises for playoff opponents.
  14. Even if the remaining games were meaningless (they’re not) there is some precedent out there suggesting that parking your starters for an extended period of time before the playoffs isn’t necessarily a good idea. So Im not on board with anything the OP is suggesting, even if his premise was sound.
  15. I hope Allen does he certainly deserves it. Diggs I can see getting offers as well. Both are telegenic and great personalities. I’d suspect the biggest thing holding them back is the smaller market they play in (although that didn’t stop progressive with Mayfield.)
  16. All the more reason to disregard any and everything he says. Why spend even one moment absorbing what Teddy says about the Bills? Because he’s on ESPN? Not a valid reason. ESPN sucks and has sucked for years and you should find new outlets for NFL analysis.
  17. YES and YES. Fans like you need to absolutely stop getting huffy and puffy over this BS. That’s exactly what I am saying. It’s old and terribly played out. The team is great. Their record and their various statistics are there plain to see and prove they're great. Stop finding and singling out people with their own biases and agendas that are telling you otherwise. The insecurity is palpable.
  18. and like i said, “right now” depends on the observer. I can take a longer view and say Mahomes has been and still IS the best QB in the league, and I’d have just as much evidence to back that up as people who think Allen is (and Rodgers fans, for that matter.)
  19. not disagreeing with you it’s the same point I was trying to make. These guys are winded up saying these commentators are wrong because “RIGHT NOW” (as in, this week I suppose?) mahomes and allen are playing at an equal level. Sure. Are we re-evaluating after every game then? Of course not. Mahomes has been and is better. Allen can change that though; he’s capable of doing it.
  20. They are far from meaningless. Wait until today’s games are over at least man.
  21. Okay so how fine of hairs are we splitting here? Mahomes sat out his whole rookie year and Allen had to play his. Does that count for anything? Is there another non-point to make?
  22. And hey it’s definitely a nice thing to wish for sure - Daboll is as instrumental as anyone in molding Allen into an MVP quarterback. I don’t fault you for wishing. But decision makers on other teams (especially on teams with young QBs) are salivating right now, waiting to throw money at Daboll. Will he be a good HC? Maybe. Will he get a chance? Absolutely.
