  1. Hes not looking good at guard. He's a 10th OL right now. Nobody is playing well right now though. Grable, Alec Anderson, SVPG all backups not playing. DL backups concern me more than OL right now.
  2. No way he should make this team, but the injury to Max will have us consider it.
  3. Yes to both. I think Codrington and Buffalo Joe are just killing our defense tonight though. Not every play, but enough to keep the sticks moving and not get a stop. I dont fault Hamlin and Bishop as much. Yes they've played horrible too, but we aren't matching them up in man to man on a regular basis like tonight. Getting picked on/out of position too much at the intermediate level
  4. We are getting less of our backup LBs and nickle play (codrington)...that middle layer is most important for a McD defense. Milano, Bernard, Taron can hide safety deficiencies.
  5. Im sure he is pissed about run defense. We are running simple defensive looks. Im sure this is all about evaluating player performance.
  6. Agree. Its literally game 2 preseason for them...getting them more reps is key. Same with Landon. Aje looks lost too right now. Not promising.
  7. Cole Bishop not on field for that 3rd down play...Hancock took his place. Could be a snap count thing, but hopefully not re injured
  8. Bourbon - hitting Russell's 13 right now, help with this pre-season junk lol
  9. Same. Max will start at some point this season, but his frame is ripe for injury concerns. Im still a big fan of the pick, but we might be a season away from him playing significant snaps (hope im wrong). Speaking of secondary, Im "hopeful" that Cole does what Bernard did in his 2nd season (injured part of camp, but wins starting spot and has a breakout year). Quietly Rapp is also an injury concern, but stabilizes 1 safety spot when healthy. If we have to revert to some combo of Hamlin, Lewis, Hancock, Forrest - we are in big trouble regardless of Cb2.
  10. I dont trust Tre has his "pre injury" quicks. let alone several years older. Big reason we took Max was to improve team speed in the secondary, and ability to play some more aggressive coverage underneath. I think its a significant difference in defensive philosophy with Tre vs Max. Tre's instincts have always been elite, im hoping what we saw in Preseason game 1 was a player "consciously" trying to be smart and not risk injury... color me slightly concerned atm
  11. So we agree...its basically $25m guaranteed, as its a high likelihood he is on the team next season. So not sure why you disagreed. So his agent inflated from $25 to 30? There is a chance he gets close to $30m, but its at least $25. Everyone getting hung up on the $15m makes no sense. Cook will be on the team in 2026.
  12. @Rochesterfan, not sure why you disagreed on my post... The math is the math: 1. Prior to new deal: Cook would have been paid $5.3m cash this season 2. New deal: a. $15m guaranteed at signing in 2025 b. essentially another $10m guaranteed by day 5 of 2026 league year c. rest in 2027/2028 So old = 5m gtd vs new = $30m gtd (essentially $25m guaranteed by this time next season), wouldn't call that a severe overstatement by agent --- as Bill posted
  13. I'd say that $15m guaranteed is really $25m. Basically $15m immediately and approx another $10m guarantees if hes on the team 5th league day of 2026. So VERY good chance, $25m gtd. Either way, its a great deal for Buffalo and Cook. Very fair.
  14. Not sure Bill is correct in saying "severe" agent inflation, re: gtd money. Essentially the only piece being "double counted", is the prior 2025 cash he was due --- $5.3m. So $25m of additional guaranteed money. And as mentioned a couple posts above, Buffalo can get out of the deal "favorably" cap wise in the final year.
  15. SVPG, end of August is what I heard about 2 weeks ago. So that might change. Bass, hearing the same...end of August/miss all of preseason.
  16. Overreaction. Money on Bishop starting at safety to start the year. Cam is also not practicing, signing Tre just about numbers now Don't be rational on here, thats not allowed. Now that the Cook deal is done, people have to find someone else to gripe about.
  17. Glad you came around from your prior stance, at least some. As I told you in April, it was going to be about Guaranteed money and $12m aav would be enough. Glad Cook is here for next few years at least - the impact he has on the offense is tremendous. He broke alot of those big runs LY, based on his ability and quality OL. But this wasn't some game changing OL, I've dropped stats numerous times showing Cooks yards after contact was "elite". Now if Keon progresses like I mentioned i think he will back in April, this offense is going to be another level.
  18. This deal came in exactly as expected - $12m per. It was all about the guaranteed money, as I said earlier this offseason. Great deal for both sides, Cook is still an ascending player. Just wait until Gibbs and Bijan get their bag next year, this will look like a steal for us.
  19. Point was to get some urgency/push Beane back into conversations. Could mean we are close to a deal OR could mean Cooks reps are happy with the "plan". The plan could be waiting for roster cutdowns/seeing what $ we free up in 25 but also in 26 --- perhaps a deal leading up to week 1.
  20. Out but he has to be very close to returning with his hammy. Beane said as much last week, and Coach says limitation is cutting/lateral as of last week (straight line hes fine). Usually with a hammy, once you can go straight its 7-10 days of rehab to get lateral movement without re injury. Depending on severity of course, but going off Beane and Coach comments, I'd expect end of week hes at least "limited".
  21. This is just common sense, I said when his timeline came out. It all depends when hes ready to practice and back to full health. He is missing all of preseason, and as a rookie, thats more crucial than a vet like Shakir. See where Hairston is at in 2 weeks and health of CB room. Just Coachs way of saying its too early, and likely going to be a tight window. The new IR rule as of 2024, allows a team to place up to 2 players on IR designated to return, on cut down day. So in essence, we don't have to play the silly game of cutting a guy like Reid Ferguson to just sign him back a day later. So with this flexibility, lots of options/decisions which will hinge on: 1. How does Max look in 2 weeks, is he ready to resume full practice/get reps? 2. Other injuries to consider. Do we have other guys go down that we need to use for the "2 player IR" scenario.
  22. Thabks for heads up, must've been a change since prior years.
  23. How much are the chargebar/on field seats, for the Psl and season per price? if you recall
  24. Did they ever put up season ticket options for thr ChargeBar section (endzone, right on field)?
  25. Biggest issue with 3rd down defense- was 1st down defense. We got behind the sticks and alot were 3rd and short conversions. No scheming, we basically gave 4-5 underneath routes in early downs that play into the Russ Wilson and rookie Dart very easy reads. Im not concerned yet, would like to see us play more man. But was encouraged to see our man defense at times. Also RB screen game is almost automatic to be successful against zone in preseason, against 3s and 4s. I expect to see us be more man next week in Chicago- we are truly testing/evaluation right now.
