  1. I want to laugh, but I’ve been these guys way to many times.
  2. I agreed with the premise, not with the point you are trying to make. Ive said my peace, i think we can agree to disagree on this. Go Bills
  3. Again, i disagree. If the Cincinnati Bengals had wanted to develop him the way that the Packers developed Rodgers, I’m fairly certain he would have developed into a cannon armed QB. Again, Rodgers was not “gifted” the way that Allen was, yet he still possesses the same kind of arm talent. Some require less work than others. And some, with the right kind of work, can. I don’t know. Maybe we are splitting hairs, I’ve just seen people develop strength and speed and turn into athletic animals with nothing compared what NFL players have at their disposal. I agree with the premise that some have stuff that can’t be taught. But the idea that people can’t be taught speed or strength or throwing velocity is just incorrect. You only need to look at any pitcher that is recovered from Tommy John surgery. They literally have to teach themselves how to throw again, with accuracy and velocity. I love Josh Allen. I agree that he is a generational sort of athletic talent at the position, but by his own admission, he worked at it. He was taught how to be better and turn his raw gifts into something special. Don’t discount hard work and the results you get from it.
  4. People say this kind of thing and it’s just not true. The only thing on that list that cannot be taught or trained is height. That’s purely genetic. Weight, Speed, Strength, Agility, Dexterity, all can be taught. Especially at the pro level when guys are not limited by NCAA restrictions on workouts and exercise plans. A great example of this is in the Chris Simms interview. Josh Allen says himself that he didn’t develop his speed until he began training for the draft. And we see how that turned out. He was slow in High School and College. That’s why his speed was so surprising to everyone. Because it was a new addition. Something he had learned. Aaron Rodgers DID NOT have a cannon for an arm when he was drafted out of Cal. He learned better mechanics, and trained and developed into the best QB of his generation. While it’s true that some guys are “born with it”, others are not, and they have to work harder. But to say that you cannot teach athletic ability is just flat out wrong. No offense.
  5. It seems though that what the article indicated was that Dorsey doesn’t care which foot goes where or if your arm isn’t exactly 90 degrees with your wrist and shoulder. If whatever you do works, that’s what Dorsey is going to work with. I dont think the article indicates that there is a nonchalant attitude towards mechanics
  6. Pre-neck injury Peyton Manning was probably the complete package. Except that he wasn’t mobile, but that’s a relatively new aspect to grade a QB on. Next up would be Michael Vick in terms of all around athletic ability. In this new generation, Allen might be what you say, in terms of all around physical traits.
  7. i thought it was the Turk Schonert Era?
  8. Really excited about this defense. Staying healthy is obviously the biggest issue. I don’t see a weak link anywhere.
  9. Cool. I never said it was ok. You got upset because i said he needed help, not a bullet. Clearly, we have misunderstood each other on this.
  10. But did you watch the video? What did he do? He was acting like a child. He was inebriated, and he got mouthy. It happens every day. Maybe not on the bright shining hill that you clearly live on, but everywhere else, people act stupid when they get drunk or take drugs. You are trying to make some kind of inference into what my original point was. Saying he needs to be shot is heavy handed, and unwarranted. The kid needs help. I say kid because while his body may be developed, his brain clearly is not. If that merits a bullet, this world is going to have a lot less people In it
  11. I guess maybe you misunderstood me. Maybe youve never ever been in a bar fight. That’s probably a good thing. Maybe you’ve never been around people when you were younger that weren’t good for you. Great. Lots of young men aren’t as lucky. Even ones with millions of dollars and fan “support”. The internet is a really convenient place to dismiss those things and say thoughtless things like “he should be shot”. Give me all the frowny faces you want. It’s clear that Elliot is troubled. “Putting him down” is never an answer for something as childish (which is what this is) as this.
  12. That’s pretty heavy handed. You expect us all to to believe that you’ve never been at a concert or a crowded bar, and some jackwagon security guy gets mouthy, you’ve had a few to many, your gf/wife says “STOP IT!” In that voice of hers that makes you nuts, you start yelling and pushing and the next thing you know, the cops are telling you to calm down and that you can get out of the cuffs as soon as you calm down. This is kind of thing happens every single night to the majority of males aged 18-30. Saying he should be shot is just silly. I get the need for saying something funny on the internet, but seriously.
  13. I wonder if that makes him worth a 1st then? You’re basically getting the best offensive player in football for $13 million. That seems like a no brainer.
  14. No way. I’m going to bite the hook on this one. If Wyatt Teller and Quinton Spain aren’t out there as the starting G’s, then I’ll be very confused. If Vlad Ducasse is on this roster past Thursday, I’ll be disappointed.
  15. If a team thinks he has value, he’ll get a shot
  16. @ddaryl what would be fair compensation for an over 30 RB who has been in decline for the last 2 seasons, especially last season. The Bills would be lucky to get anything for him, IF they are considering moving on from him, which they don’t appear to be. If the Bills shop him and ask for a 4th, they’ll be lucky with a 7th. This is how it works. Just because he used to be a name player, doesn’t mean he has value to an NFL team. What team’s GM is looking at his film from last season and says, “Smithers! Call up Beane, tell him we’ll give him that 3rd round pick he’s been after.” I agree he has value to the team. He provides fire and effort. That’s huge for a young team to have a name vet buy into what the coach is selling. But he’s got limited value on the field. I hope I’m wrong, but history doesn’t indicate i will be.
  17. The Bills would be lucky to get a 7th round pick for McCoy
  18. A bad offensive line prohibits timing throws. You’ve gotta hold up for those 2-3 seconds, even less sometimes. With new guys up front, those plays should be easier to dissect, with a well formed and clean pocket to throw from.
  19. It seems to be the current trend with the good young QB’s that year 2 is the playoff run if you’re good, and sitting at home in January if you’re not. If the playoffs aren’t in site in December, that will be a HUGE disappointment for me. I feel like the offense is good enough now with this line and the receivers we have, to be competitive enough to make that top 5 defense even better.
  20. He has tremendous potential, there is no questioning that. The issue is, when is the right time to pull the trigger on potential? Beane said it best in his post-draft presser, he watched the board thinking “oh man i can’t believe some of these guys are still on the board”, but that he wanted to stay put instead of spending draft capital and messing with the big board. In years to come we may look back and say “man I’m glad we have Singletary instead of Metcalf”. It could also go the other way too. That’s the beauty of the draft. You trust your scouts and your guts and you build your team the way you see fit. I would have loved him in the 3rd or 4th, but I’m also happy with the way things panned out for the Bills this draft.
  21. “Crafty” I love these descriptions
  22. John Brown has at least been productive in the league in the same role that Metcalf would have played. Oh, and he can make lateral cuts with ease, isn’t sluggish on digs or comebacks, and can get off press coverage at the line. So....
  23. @YoloinOhio what a great quote about this kid. I’m very excited for the competition. The ONLY locks for this WR group is Brown Beasley and Foster. Outside of those three, there are a lot of empty chairs in the WR room. These guys better be in shape and be hungry.
