  1. Good post. Speaking of too stupid to be on the football field, does anyone remember who the Bills player was who let a kick off go unfielded in the end zone, thinking it would be a dead ball, but the other team recovered it for a TD? This was in the early 80's I think. I was too young to remember the name, but knew the rules and was freaked when he let the ball bounce around.
  2. LOL! I give! He seems to have a helluva leg. Hope he does well this season.
  3. Jordan was a big fan of Buffalo in the 1990's (both the Bills and Sabres). He even had his Bulls play here is 1992: https://spectrumlocalnews.com/nys/buffalo/sports/2020/05/15/when-air-jordan-landed-in-buffalo Excerpt: "But did you know MJ and company once played in Buffalo? Russ Potts is the man who brought an exhibition game between the Bulls and Kings to town on October 28th, 1992. [...] "Walking into The Aud that night was even different than I remember as a kid following the Braves because clearly everybody was there to watch number 23," Kindberg remembers. "Every time he touched the ball you could see camera flashes going off. When he came out of the game to get a rest, as I recall, there was some booing. Like Phil Jackson couldn't do anything right. I guess he had to leave Michael on the floor the whole time. It was just a special, special opportunity that Western New York and Buffalo in particular was not going to get. You knew that there wasn't going to be an NBA team returning to Buffalo anytime. So this was the one chance to see the greatest player in NBA history.""
  4. 24 votes from the owners are still needed to pass these. Voting takes place later this month. [Sorry, I don't have a lot of time to comment, but wanted to post this since it might be of interest to readers here. I didn't see this posted elsewhere after a search and looking at the first two pages.] Here is the article and the endorsements: https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/31177555/more-video-review-potential-rule-changes • Expansion of the scope of information that replay officials could provide to on-field officiating crews during games. Replay officials -- as well as other members of the league's officiating department -- would be able to advise on possession, a completed or intercepted pass, whether a player is down by contact and the position of the ball relative to a line or boundary. • The elimination of overtime in preseason games. • Allowing a maximum of nine players in the "setup zone," the 15-yard area behind their restraining line when set up for a kickoff return. This proposal could make it a bit easier to recover onside kicks, a challenge that has grown harder since the NFL's 2018 revamp of the kickoff. The Philadelphia Eagles proposed a more radical change, giving teams an option for one play to gain 15 yards to keep possession after a score, but similar suggestions have failed to receive enough votes in previous years. • A significant restriction on blocking below the waist beyond 5 yards of the line of scrimmage and 2 yards outside of the offensive tackle. • Prohibiting playoff teams from signing players who had been cut by teams whose seasons were complete. • Requiring teams to report tryouts and visits to the league office throughout the year.
  5. I'll save everyone time: 7:04: Carlos Williams 16:26 Cyrus Kouandjio Also at 18:20, Kelvin Benjamin and Sammy Watkins are briefly mentioned.
  6. I remember a thread in the mid-2000's on the now-defunct BBMB entitled something like: "Would you trade JP Losman for Tom Brady straight up?". And the poll associated with it was 50-50. Another poster there claimed Losman-Evans-McGahee were the next Kelly-Reed-Thomas. LOL!
  7. Bojo better be re-signed. He is an excellent punter, and punters are relatively cheap for the good they can do in regards to field position (and consistent ball holding for kickers). We don't need the added headache of his loss.
  8. Thanks for making this thread OP. It needs to be stickied.
  9. It was posted here last week:
  10. It began at noon today, EDT. The first day to sign contracts is March 17 at 4 PM EDT.
  11. Someone needs to make the obligatory comment: "Go get him Beane!". LOL.
  12. And because Ralph Wilson rescued his friend Al Davis monetarily!
  13. Good point. The only thing I can say in Buffalo's defense is they had picks 12 and 14. They planned to take Jimbo at 14 and knew Detroit at 13 was all set at QB, with Eric Hipple leading them to the NFC North crown the previous year (although, technically, there were no divisions that strike-shortened season, only two conferences). I suppose Detroit could have traded with a team who needed a QB though, like New England, who took Tony Eason at 15. It was a risky move by the Bills, although they still had franchise QB Joe Ferguson.
  14. We beat the Jets on the road in 1981 in the AFC Wildcard, thanks to Bill Simpson's last-minute interception. We then lost at Cincinnati, the eventual AFC champions, in the Divisional Round. That year, three of the five AFC East teams went to the playoffs: us, the Jets, and Miami.
  15. Yet Kansas City drafted Todd Blackledge before Jim Kelly in 1983. LOL.
  16. Maybe the host just wanted to make it sound better for Gentry and make him happy during the interview, so he rounded down instead. 4.6 is close enough to half-way between 4.0 and 5.0. :-)
  17. According to this article in the Denver Post, he ran a 4.46 at his pro day, which, rounded down, is 4.4: https://www.denverpost.com/2017/05/07/tanner-gentry-nfl/ "His predraft, pro-day workout at Wyoming further buoyed those hopes, as his speed (4.46 seconds in the 40-yard dash), strength (19 bench-press reps) and hops (38-inch vertical leap) pointed toward being drafted."
  18. FTR, here is his article and excerpt for Buffalo: https://www.nfl.com/news/2021-nfl-free-agency-matchmaking-one-fit-for-each-afc-team "The offensive line needs attention. Guards Jon Feliciano and Brian Winters head to market alongside sturdy right tackle Daryl Williams. Thuney's a rock. To be fair, an expensive rock who might be tagged by the Patriots. Still, the Bills can't ignore how the ground game went flat for quarters at a time. Or how Josh Allen is the sun around which all of Western New York spins. Landing a Canton-level presence at guard would go a long way toward preventing a blackout."
  19. From the website: "Choose from 31 Teams & Shield Logo" So why is there no version for the Las Vegas Raiders?
  20. Thank you for making this post Gugny. You call it like it is, and I like your style. We need to use this as motivation for next year. Don't make excuses, and just go out and kick butt. :-)
  21. I heard on the radio today (Colin Cowherd?) he may go to Jacksonville to play for his old college coach, Urban Meyer.
  22. Buffalo (and Cleveland and Green Bay) could not compete against the Phoenix weather, marketability for Watt's "brand", and, most importantly, former teammate DeAndre Hopkins, who convinced him to go to Arizona.
