Andre Perloff on the Westwood One radio show Maggie & Perloff said this morning that Green Bay at Detroit tonight would be the "game of the year." I don't agree with him, but I'm just putting it out there. He usually has decent takes, but this was also the same guy who also said earlier that he gets depressed Tuesdays and Wednesdays because no NFL is on. Ok.

Roger Maris broke Babe Ruth's homerun record with 61 HR's in 1961, even though he played in a 162-game season vs. just 154 for Ruth. There was balking at first, but nevertheless, all baseball historians now unequivocally accept Maris's accomplishment, and rightfully so. They realized the error of their ways. So it's the same with McD. No asterisk with Maris; no asterisk with McD.

I live in the Bay Area. All week long, all the talk on sports radio has been about the 49ers are emotionally and physically drained following three deaths of family members and a gunshot wound to a teammate, plus all the injuries. They say they need to start the rebuilding process and their window has closed. Many fans are even calling for the termination of Kyle Shanahan as he is outcoached every game and can't win the big one. There is a lot of hatred for him here.

I don't think they/we were looking to shovel in any case. I just think offering just $20 is a cheap look for a premier organization. Like let's stick if to the fan as much as we can get away with. Heck, they should actually offer a free future meet and greet with some players, a tour of the stadium, or watching of practice. Now that would attract people.

Of how about a $100 gift card to the Bills store? I am not shoveling only to have to spend more money at the Bills store.
