I can't see our switching, even though I like the throwbacks, but what a great marketing ploy! The fans are all over it, and the Bills will sell a ton of jerseys, hats, t-shirts, replica helmets and other throwback items.
Sounds like the old days when McGuire, Sestak and a bunch of other early Bills players would frequent the bars of East Aurora (and the South Wales Hotel) during camp, and the city bars during the season.
Ah, the good old days may be back. . .
I think age on defense will become as big, or even bigger, an issue as free agency. We're going to have to draft or acquire some younger guys real soon. We've drafted mostly offensive players the last few years.
For all of us older fans, the throwback uniforms represent a nice, nostalgic look back to the 60s championship teams and the Rock Pile.
I can't wait to see them on opening day.
I like them, except I wish they had kept an all orange (orange jersey/orange pants) version which they wore occasionally in the past. After all, we're the Orange!
Go Cuse!
We're from the southern burbs originally, so when we're back for home games, reunions and stuff, we frequent the Barbill and Wallenweins in East Aurora, the Willows in Holland, and often make an obligatory journey to the Anchor Bar.
I'm a conservative AND an animal rights activist/environmentalist, but sometimes protests and other actions by Greenpeace, PETA and other groups go too far. A criminal act, even in the name of animal rights, is still a criminal act.
I really like the helmets and the new/retro look in general, but I still like the orange jersey/ orange pants combination that they wore on just a few occasions over the past few years.
Question: Why would we want an aging, 240 lb ex-steroid user with a serious back injury, as our LT?
Answer: He was once a decent player whose name we all recognize.
Conclusion: He must be better than anyone we have.
