  1. Grew up in WNY. Just kidding about Wegmans, though. I like their stores.
  2. Sounds like at least one of the writers has been to Wegmans' deli counter.
  3. I think we're all giving up too soon on Gandy. His biggest problem has been injuries, very similar to JJ. If you'll look at Gandy's bio, he started 20 games at LT for the Bears and 10 at LG. He's still only 26, has pretty good size, and is the type of guy McNally likes - bright and motivated. I'd like to see how Gandy develops under "Mouse" before summarily writing him off.
  4. The K-gun, as I remember, was originally named after TE Keith McKellar, not Jim Kelly.
  5. I'm anxious to see how Gandy performs with a good O line coach like McNally. Gandy started 20 games for the Bears at LT, and another 10 at LG. He was a 3rd round pick out of Notre Dame, has decent size, and is only 26. He also seems bright and motivated - a McNally-type player. I see a lot of upside if he can stay healthy.
  6. Can you imagine going into the season with Feeley, Frerotte, and Rosenfels as your top 3 QBs, with Brock Berlin waiting in the wings?
  7. That's what this country used to be all about.
  8. I hear you. I don't know how TD, Modrak, Guy and all the other player personnel guys keep their jobs when there are so many all-seeing, all-knowing experts around.
  9. Gandy started 20 games at LT for the Bears, exactly as many as Teague started there for the Broncos. Gandy also started some at guard. Perhaps you should check your facts before lashing out like a pit viper.
  10. Come on, there are plenty of things to do in December in Buffalo - you can shovel your driveway, make a snowman, try to start your car, sit by the fireplace with a hot toddy, take a nap. . . How dare you say there's nothing to do.
  11. I'd rather poke myself in the eye with a sharp stick or, in the alternative, be nibbled to death by ducks.
  12. I've been married 40 years. A couple of them were actually pretty happy. No, just kidding. Here's my advice: Become best friends. Keep separate checking accounts. Take joint vacations. If you have a choice of having kids or dogs, take the dogs.
  13. Apparently, McNally and Mularkey didn't like Shelton at any price. Neither one is enamored of lazy underachievers.
  14. What's so great about looking like the Swedish National Team?
  15. Pat Williams is at the end of his career, meaning we will be better at DT with young and developing Edwards and Anderson there. JJ was a middle of the road, oft injured LT who was WAY too expensive to keep. I wouldn't be surprised if Gandy fills that spot very competently. Why is it that every guy we lose is a great player who is absolutely irreplaceable, to the point where we just can't be successful without them?
  16. Prayers once again for Hunter, who has battled hard for a long time.
  17. Leave it to the French, whose idea of fighting a war is to surrender immediately, let us bail their butts out, and then repay us by spitting in our faces. Who would pay ANY attention to their idea of the modern man?
  18. Had my first Quiznos sub in Lakeland, FL several years ago. I like them much better than Subway, regardless of the cost. I never mind paying more for a better product. I just wish we had a Quiznos nearby.
  19. Yeah, let's hear it for national health care.
  20. The NHL owners and players should all be horse whipped for their stupidity and greed.
  21. That's too bad. My wife and I always talked about taking a detour on our way up and catching it in Albany. Sounded like a great party. Oh well. . .
  22. You gotta beat the best to get to the Super Bowl, anyway, so bring 'em on. Worrying, or whining, about strength of schedule is a waste of time.
