I can’t imagine the Seahawks beating the bengals. The Seahawks might win some games they shouldn’t but they won’t win the games you want them to win (as bills fans). They’re in the same group as the rams and the chargers.
I could envision a 5-1-5, with the right personnel, where they either rush 5 or rush 4 leaving one of the linemen to spy or drop into coverage (situationally)
obviously as a special package, not a standard d
I seem to remember patriots games where they barely passed and games where they primarily passed. It was often said they would game plan against the opponent’s weakness.
Agree with all of this. the team is a passing team and will live and die with it.
the reason we need a running game is to make us better. There’s too many variables in the passing game and it’s why this team has huge swings in production. A strong running game will make us more consistent.
I think McDermott said it best at halftime on Sunday, need to avoid getting behind the chains on first and second down. An incompletion or run for no gain is one thing but taking a tackle for loss on a running play (or sack) is arguably as detrimental as a holding penalty in that you take negative yards AND lose the down.
the bills need to identify which plays they run that have a high probability (relative) of taking negative yardage (e.g. running from shotgun) and do something else. I.e. be as risk adverse in the running game as they want josh to be in the passing game.
the rushing yards are one metric but 3rd down conversion is the better metric imo. A more effective running game, not necessarily more runs keeps third downs more manageable.
You apparently skipped the FIRST section of the review and went directly to the sections that praised josh.
your brain lumps anything critical of josh into one category so your thoughts aren’t challenged. It’s a normal defense mechanism. It’s okay, many people can’t handle complex ideas.
It’s not all I said. I explicitly stated that it’s in the context of him being a great quarterback.
It’s an area he could improve was the entire point.
the offense struggled. The offense struggled for many reasons. One of those was the running game stunk. One of the reasons the running game stunk is because Jacksonville was stuffing the box and Allen didn’t change the play or the direction of the run. They ran directly into Jacksonville’s strength.
You conveniently left out the first part of the review. How’s your reading comprehension?
-He said the run game failures were mostly a case of running the ball against bad looks. A lot of times the Jaguars had 8 or even 9 men in the box and we chose to run it anyways. The 2nd and 1 pitch to Cook that we lost like 5 yards on, he said we had 2 OL blocking 3 defenders on that side. Unsurprisingly the unblocked defender made an easy tackle for a loss. I don't know if Allen is supposed to audible out of those looks or what, but Dorsey or Allen have to a better job of punishing defenses for heavy boxes.
Most everything in this is incorrect.
