  1. I was sarcastically responding to statements from a couple of posters claiming that the KC game would be key to Allen's "legacy". I actually agree with you that no single game decides a player or a coaches legacy. And this holds true for next weeks Divisional Game.
  2. I think it's a much bigger game to establish McD's legacy not Allen's.
  3. Disagree. Let's see how healthy the D is before we start claiming this is a legacy game for Allen. Allen and the O might play great but still lose the game if the D is missing to many starters. IMO this is more of a legacy game for McD then Allen.
  4. While the Chiefs have a much better QB the Steeler's have much better play makers then KC. I was always more afraid of Pittsburgh then KC because they play a certain way that keeps the game close so they can steal it at the end.
  5. The 13 second Chiefs game was Allen's 2nd best. This one was on par with his spectacular game against Indy in 2020. The bottom line is Allen is stacking up a lot of great playoff games.
  6. Do you believe that when Allen fakes a throw past the line of scrimmage they should flag him for illegal forward pass? I get that you're pissed that the Chiefs have to finally go on the road in an AFC playoff game but that was not a fake slide. Not even close to one. And to claim it was "blatant" is astonishing to me.
  7. I vote him off the island. That was an epically bad take on his part. I've watched that tape over and over again and there wasn't even a hint of Allen faking a slide We've seen him take this run up the gut over and over again throughout his career and he ran exactly how he runs them all - using a stutter step to freeze the tackler. The fact is the safety bounced off Allen trying to make the tackle. This guy was just pissed that his Chiefs actually have to win a road playoff game in the AFC.
  8. What impressed me the most tonight was that late in the game on two drives after the Steeler's threatened to make it a game Allen led the Bills to a FG and a TD. Those 10 points won the game and some people a lot of money. Allen was cool and collected and absolutely lethal on those two drives.
  9. Only Lamar Jackson can match Allen as a running QB.
  10. But it wasn't a fake slide. There is NOTHING in his juke move indicating a slide - NOTHING. His stutter step is what gave him the alley to explode through for the TD. As a Chiefs fan who must have seen Mahomes prancing along the sideline looking like he was about to step out of bounds only to gain an extra 5 - 10 yards along the sideline it takes a lot of nerve to claim Allen faked a slide on that run.
  11. I agree. Atlanta would have been flooded by Bills fans and likely had a strong home field advantage. I think I would have made the trip down there from Cincinnati. It all comes down to tomorrow. If they can get the game in with just typical Buffalo January weather - 10 to 20 mph wind, temps in the upper teens and some flurries then the Governor made the right call. But if they can't play tomorrow and the game is pushed to Tuesday then they should have went with the dome option IMO. Yea I get that hindsight is 20/20 but that's why they pay these people the big bucks.
  12. Nice to see Motor get to the end zone in style. Great run.
  13. I think you have to go back to Allen's rookie year for the ONLY pick six he's ever thrown.
  14. The way the Browns are playing defense I'll channel Lee Corso: "Not so fast my friend"!
  15. Damn, these two pass defenses sure could use 65 MPH winds and two feet of snow!
  16. I found this while organizing my bookmarks today. What an incredible bit of commentary form the very best NFL experts. Check out how low a dozen of these folks have Allen. IMO this is why there still is an undercurrent of hostility towards Allen. So many of these people really went out on the ledge to trash Allen before he even threw his first NFL pass. https://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2018/4/24/17271686/josh-allen-nfl-draft-2018-stats-analysis-comparisons
  17. That's a great injury report for early January. Both Knox & Dawkins back at full practice.
  18. Say what you will about Belichick but between him and Shula the AFL East/AFC East has had some damn fine coaching over the years.
  19. I'm hearing a lot about how the bad weather will be the great equalizer. But that bit of conventional wisdom applies more to high school & college football where the discrepancy in talent between two teams can be enormous. But in the NFL playoffs how big is the difference in talent between the eventual SB champ and the worst PLAYOFF team? BOTH teams passing games will be impacted by the weather. How do we know that considering all that Allen brings to the table compared to Rudolf that the bad weather might actually favor the Bills passing game? Will the weathers impact on the Steeler's passing game allow McD to be much more aggressive with the run blitzes to shut the Pittsburgh rushing attack down? These conditions might actually hurt the Steelers as much or more then the Bills. Think about Pitt spending half the game setting up that play action strike to Pickens that in the past went 70 yards for a TD only to see the ball flutter into the ground before it reaches it's target. When a loaded Ohio State plays a bad Northwestern team awful weather can be a great equalizer and turn a 40 point Buckeye win into a 10 point win. But I just don't see it having a big impact in the NFL. BOTH teams will be negatively affected.
  20. Call "heads I win, tails you lose".
  21. In a worst case white out situation the Bills could opt to run Allen to the right, up the middle and to the left on almost every play. The conditions would make everyone move slower and the risk from injury even if Allen carried the ball 30 times would be significantly lowered. I also remember growing up in Western NY and getting so excited when the forecast would all for a snowmegedon. I also remember that more often then not I would be bitterly disappointed when the snow storm failed to appear.
  22. Of course there are multiple moving parts that complicate assigning blame. I was responding to a post in which it was being conclusively stated that Allen cost the Bills 3 points on that play. Are you saying that the blocking on that play was acceptable? Really? And yes it was essentially instant pressure on Allen up the middle. So IMO the correct context on that play is that Allen was pressured immediately up the middle and as he tried to get away from that pressure the ball was stolen from him.
  23. Instant pressure on a QB, either from around the end into his blind side or up the middle, often leads to fumbles in college & pro football. Allen was throwing to where he thought Davis would be to beat a zero blitz. It's disingenuous to claim he was throwing to nobody. Over the years I have seen many QBs throw the ball to the one yard line at the end of a game or half with no TO's. More often then not, the guy gets into the end zone. In this case the Dolphin defenders made a great play - they do get paid to. And if the flag had been thrown and we had an untimed down from the 1 yard line do you think we would have gone for it or kicked the FG? My sense is we would have gone for it meaning that scoring a TD and not kicking the FG was the goal at that point on that drive.
  24. Allen "alone" cost us 3 points on the strip sack? Doesn't Torrense and maybe Morse get an assist there? Or is it real rare when a great DT gets into the backfield instantly and hits the QB a fumble occurs? And is Cook responsible for costing us 7 points when he dropped a perfectly thrown pass right before the Johnson throw?
